7 days till Heartbreak -
Day 3 Tuesday Part 2
Willow
She had hid in her room until she heard her front door closed. Only venturing out an hour later, she was honestly surprised that he didn’t follow her and maybe just maybe a part of her wanted him to come after her. He did not, instead, she was left with her thoughts for however long it took for him to leave. Regret flooded her as she moved down the stairs, not for what she said, no that needed saying.
Willow held regret for losing her temper something she never used to do. It was like something in her was unleashed when he began to try and excuse his actions. Plus there was no telling what yelling at him would cause, shit, would he try and stop her from leaving? Would he bring her before the pack and make her submit? Submission was normal for omegas, but the way he did it last time. It sent an unpleasant feeling down her spine.
She suddenly felt trapped in this cabin a need to leave overtaking her. Grabbing her shoes she left her house and headed for the human village. Coffee, coffee would fix this.

Tuesday - Around 1 - Packhouse
Drayn entered the packhouse with a bad feeling swirling in his gut. He had waited for thirty-minute for her to come down and she didn’t, taking the hint he had left. He wasn’t sure where it turned wrong, did she not feel the mate bond anymore? Shouldn’t she be jumping for joy that he was trying? Females confusing breed, his wolf growled at him saying in not so few syllables how he had made things worse and not better.
The reason for his unease was his sister, her mate had gotten worse. The further they got into the week the more it affected his pack. It wasn’t just his sister’s mate, it was females who were pregnant, males who were already cut down. They were all affected differently, some were dealing with night terrors, others were replaceing themselves bruising easily, or showing symptoms of a fever. A quiet growl left his mouth as he thought about what’s been inflicted on his pack.
He should’ve gone with his father’s plan, make her his mate but choose a different Luna. As much as he had trusted the goddess, the girl he was paired with was not leader material. Willow, completely soft, lets everyone treat her terribly. What kind of Luna would let the pack not respect her? What kind of Luna didn’t fight? Or, she didn’t until recently, the anger in her eyes still burned in the outer reaches of his mind. It stirred something within him, the need to mark her. The anger she unleashed threw him and his wolf off balance.
Maybe, no, he knew, he knew that if he had taken her as his mate this could have all been avoided. Sure, Mayari would’ve been slightly displeased but at least his pack would not be in the middle of a curse that threatened to destroy them.
“Drayn?” Damn it, his sister came into the foyer. “Why are you just standing there? Where’s Willow?” She demanded to know, her eyes narrowing. “You were supposed to bring her back here. Or did you forget?” He laughed albeit a bit nervous, his sister was terrifying when mad and now without her mate, she was almost lethal. “Bringing her here has been delayed.” A thin smile appeared on her face as her eyes flashed. “I’m sorry, did you say delayed?! What do you mean delayed?” the word came out as a hiss causing him to wince.
Drayn nearly groaned, he wanted to do this for Val, to go bring back his mate and make this curse end. A part of him felt that she had a point when she begged him to go after Willow, would this curse really end when the bond snaps? It was proving harder then he thought to woo Willow, he gave her peace didn’t he? He let her not come to pack meetings, his father gave her the cabin with no strings attached. A part of this added to his resentment that she wasn’t fighting for it. If she would just fight.
Turning his attention back to Val, he replied in a hesitant tone. “Things didn’t go as planned.” Bracing himself as he told her what had happened in the cabin. There was a thick heavy silence after he finished. Val narrowed her eyes “You idiot, you imbecile, you.. moronic asshole!" Her voice snapped at him with such fury. “You were supposed to win her over not piss her off, you were supposed to end this on Sunday, but you keep messing it up! Have you no idea how to speak to people? Does our pack in pain mean nothing to you?”
He had her against the wall within a second his hand within inches of her neck, a growl slipping through his lips, his wolf taking the challenge. She struggled against him, “Don’t you ever say our pack in pain doesn’t affect me.” She snarled at him looking ready to fight; she considered her chances knowing her brother already held a loose leash for her behavior she decided to back down, submitting a soft murmur of sorry leaving her lips. He grunted and stepped back “I’ll fix this, I swear it.” Val rubbed her arms suddenly feeling cold. “I hope you do, he’s slipping. I don’t know how much longer.” Her voice trailed off.
“I’m bringing her here tomorrow. Even if I have to drag her here.”
Tuesday ~ Later that night
Drayn flailed among the bed groaning, every night these past few days would plague him with longing as the bond began its final stage. It was almost like a fail-safe, they would feel a deep sense of need to be near their mate so deep that it took over them completely. In rare cases, they would mark each other, forever accepting themselves as mates once again. There would be no rejection once they were marked. Others locked themselves up, stopping them from seeking out their mate in order to avoid the marking.
Drayn began to breathe heavily the pain inside him was intense. It felt as if he was being melted from the inside out, every part of him ached with a need. The need to see her, to hear her, to hold her. Mate his wolf wanted his mate to help him, the searing pain burned into his veins as if they were being pulled out of him. See mate. His control was seeping away, his body began to crack and he was in the form of a wolf. The longing had taken over, driven his wolf to take action to make the feeling go away. Knowing what or rather who he needed, he stretched as his claws dug into the floor. Bolting for the window; lunging at it, the glass shattered under his sharp nails.
He fell to the ground and shook his fur, trying to rid himself of any glass fragments. He took off into the forest, towards her.
He reached her house, shifting back into human form he tried the door, it was locked. Mate. the door would not keep him from her. He ripped the doorknob off and pushed the door open. Her scent invading his senses, he moved to her room. Drayn followed her scent to where it was strongest, he pushed her room door open. He was met with a dark room, it took a moment for his eyes to adjust. Striding forward he stopped at her bed, the dim light from the door lighting up her face. She looked peaceful, something tugged at him. Leaning forward he gently picked her up.
She shifted in his arms, a whimper coming from her lips. Her eyes fluttered open, “Drayn?” Her voice a whisper. “What, what are you doing here?” He looked at her with such a fierce look. His wolf in complete control, he bent down and whispered in her ear. “I’m taking you home.” Her eyes shut again and she was out, assuming this was all a dream. He left her room, with her in his arms. He would save his pack and have his mate, he made a mistake years ago, he could have a mate and a strong Luna. Even if that meant they would be different people.
