Chapter 477 We Aren’t That Close
“What did Clyde’s people replace out?”
Cedric’s tone was far from pleasant.
As Dylan had mentioned, the one who was most worried right now… was Cedric!
Undoubtedly, Clyde’s people were formidable.
Whether it was Cedric or Irwin, neither had a favorable relationship with Clyde. Given this history, any
discoveries by Clyde’s people would undoubtedly reach Natalie’s ears!
And now, Irwin had even withdrawn his people from obstructing the investigation…!
“It’s hard to say for sure, but Madam is aware that you and Mr. Frazier were interfering in their
investigation. It’s inevitable,” Lucas replied.
It was only a matter of time before Clyde’s people had discovered it, after all.
After hearing that, Cedric’s demeanor grew even colder. “So, she undoubtedly knows now.”
“Yes, sir,” Lucas affirmed.
Cedric fell silent, taking several drags from his cigarette. The study was now veiled in a thick haze, an
embodiment of the oppressive atmosphere surrounding him.
“Who is by her side now?”
He was asking about who Clyde had assigned to assist Natalie. Most of Clyde’s people were familiar
faces to both Cedric and Irwin. They had their share of history and understanding.
Without missing a beat, Lucas responded, “Daphne Turner!”
Cedric’s expression tightened.
Daphne Turner!
When he heard the name, his headache intensified.
It can be said that she was the toughest nut to crack among all of Clyde’s people.
There was a time when someone approached Daphne because of Clyde. That person had faced
numerous setbacks because of that.
Unexpectedly, Clyde had actually assigned Daphne to Natalie…!

“And there’s something else,” Lucas interjected before Cedric could respond, his gaze growing even more
serious.
Undoubtedly, for Cedric, the headache wasn’t just stemming from Natalie’s actions but from another
individual entirely.
It was another person as vital to him as Natalie.
“What is it?”
His tone betrayed impatience.
Lucas replied, “There’s news from the hospital. The surgery on Miss Kayla went well. Barring any
complications, she should be discharged in a week.”
Kayla’s surgery had been successful.
Undoubtedly, this was good news for Cedric. After hearing it, his hardened demeanor softened ever so
slightly.
That night, sleep eluded many.
By the next morning, Natalie still appeared weary. At breakfast, Irwin noticed her lackluster appetite.
Frowning, he asked, “Are they still not to your liking?”
Undoubtedly, Natalie’s appetite had been off since she arrived at Wexford.
