Chapter 478 What Are You Up To?

Natalie said sharply, “You…!”

“I went to great lengths to make sure you would eat well, Nat,” the man’s tone remained gentle.

Natalie’s rising anger felt like there was no place to vent her anger, which made her even more upset.

“Eat more, okay?” he coaxed, looking at her gently.

“Why should I eat after you’ve already drunk from my bowl?” Natalie retorted, pushing the bowl aside.

The atmosphere froze instantly.

Every gaze directed at Natalie held complexity. Was she rejecting their esteemed master?

The stares made Natalie frustrated.

She sternly told Irwin, “Don’t do things that can cause misunderstandings. We aren’t that close.”

With that, she left the spoon in the bowl on the table and stood up.

Behind her, Irwin chuckled softly.

It was evident that Irwin had done it on purpose!

These days, Natalie had been too dull. So, teasing her like this seemed like a good idea.

After breakfast, Irwin departed. Natalie knew she had thrown a bombshell into the Wexford, and the

aftermath was evident.

Later in the morning, Dylan arrived carrying an exquisite gift box.

“Miss, this is from Mr. Frazier. He said you’re to accompany him to a banquet tonight.”

“I’m not going,” Natalie replied promptly.

She had no interest in such events.

Her blunt refusal left Dylan momentarily stunned.

Then, a knowing smile crept onto his face. “Miss, don’t forget why you’re here in the first place. By the way, Miss

Kayla will be discharged in a week. That man is preparing everything for her.”

“You cunning fox!” Natalie glared at Dylan as she grinded her teeth.

“The banquet tonight is essential for Mr. Frazier. Prepare well,” Dylan advised.

With that said, he departed before she could retort.

Natalie eyed the gift box. When Dylan reminded her about Kayla, he was actually reminding her… about the very

reason Natalie had come to Wexford.

It was also a reminder of her identity and role when she came to Wexford.

Her eyes dimmed at the thought. Finally, she opened the gift box to reveal a splendid sapphire–blue gown. The

dress exuded an aura of grandeur.

Her slender fingers brushed over the fabric, feeling its icy touch.

Irwin often appeared reserved, but it seemed that he had a penchant for extravagant items. Every gift he gave

carried an aura of luxury. Such extravagance was in stark contrast to his otherwise understated

demeanor.
