Freya had anticipated the Harrison family’s motives. They wanted to take over the project. It was a choice between wealth and kinship. Freya would choose the latter regardless. Ever since she was disabled, her parents’ care gave her the will to live.
“Fine. I’ll let you have it. We can sign the contract now, Preya said. The Harrison family was delighted with her response. Dax gestured and said, “Nadine, hurry up and get the contract ready?
Nadine nodded and did as he said,
After ten minutes, Nadine returned with the contracts. “Sign it. Once you’ve done that your parents will be released from jail, Daz said with a smirk. Freya nodded and had the contract signed with the aid of Lucian,
Freya closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “When will my parents be released?” she asked. Daz grinned and made a phone call. He revoked the accusations against Frank and Annie. Freya and Lucian left and picked them up from the police department.
Frank and Annie felt guilty after they knew that Freya gave the project away to save them. Annie could not hold back her tears as she knew that Freya had put a lot of effort into that project. “Freya, I’m sorry,” Annic muttered,
Frank sat aside with a cigarette as he was feeling upset. “Dad, Mom, it’s fine. I wouldn’t be here now if it weren’t for you. I would never think twice to give something away in exchange for your well-being,” Freya said.
“Uncle Frank, Aunt Annie, don’t worry about it. The Harrison family will return the project to Freya soon. No one else can work on it except her,” Lucian said. “Keep quiet. The contract has been signed. There’s no way that they would give it back. Stop saying nonsense, Annie uttered.
Lucian was not mad at Annie’s response. He knew that she was kind-hearted despite being harsh with her words. “Lucian, now’s not the best time…” Freya muttered. She was aware that her parents were not fond of Lucian. He was part of the reason that they ended up in this situation.
Frank glanced at Lucian and said, “Lucian, you’re being naive. The Harrison family had their eyes on this project for a long time. They would never hand it back to us. There’s no need for you to be whimsical about it,”
Freya and Annie sighed as they agreed with Frank’s words. Lucian walked to the kitchen in silence. As he was preparing dinner, he sent a message to Jack with his phone. The tense atmosphere loosened up as the air was filled with the aroma of food.
The next morning, Dax received a phone call from Jack. Jack demanded Dax to meet up at Infernal Group. The members of the Harrison family were excited as they thought that Jack wanted to talk about the development of the project.
Dax assigned Felix and Nadine to attend the meeting. “Freya lost to us in the end after all,” Felix said as he was driving. Nadine smirked and replied. “Of course. How can a person with disabilities compete against the Harrison family? We’re about to talk business with a big shot.”

The siblings arrived at Infernal Group and headed to the receptionist. They were led to Jack’s office. Upon seeing the siblings enter the office, Jack asked, “Why are you two here? Where’s Dax?”
Nadine noticed that Jack was unhappy and swiftly replied, “Mr. Asher, Grandpa wanted us to learn more about the business with you. That’s why he wanted us to take this golden opportunity today. He’ll visit you another day.”
“I’ve heard that the Harrison family snat ched the project from Freya underhandedly,” Jack said menacingly. “Mr. Asher, there must be a misunderstanding. Freya handed it over willingly. We’ve signed a contract. Please have a look,” Nadine said hesitantly as she passed the contract.
Jack threw the contract away furiously and uttered, “Listen up. This project was given to Ms. Harrison by the chairman of Infernal Group. No one else is qualified to possess it except her. Go back and tell Dax to return it to its owner, or else I’ll be taking it back by force. If Freya can’t work on this project, then no one else can. Now, scram.”
Felix and Nadine were dazed. They did not expect this to happen. “Mr. Asher, is there a misunderstanding?” Felix asked anxiously. Jack slammed the desk and glared at Felix.
“There isn’t a misunderstanding. Take your useless contract and get out of my sight. If Freya can’t handle the project, no one else can. Guards, get these two out of here!” Jack uttered.
The security guards entered the office and dragged them away. Felix and Nadine were pushed outside Infernal Group. They got back on their feet feeling confused. “What happened back there? I thought we were going to talk about the project. Why are we kicked out?” Felix asked furiously.
Nadine had no idea what went wrong. She felt that something was off. “Hurry up and report back to Grandpa,” she said.
