A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 275
Chapter 275 Sage suddenly remembered she promised Jim that she would have a taste test with hiscooking today. She looked at the time and said, “Let's go, get the car around.”
“Right away, Miss Sage.” It was the rainy season in Salem City, so the air was humid. It startedpouring heavily on the way to Tasteful Restaurant. The raindrops poured down onto the car like littlepebbles. The car slowed down as they reached Bridge Lane. People were hurriedly running aroundand it was chaotic.
Sage hated rainy days. She never got out to play whenever it rained, and her mother always madeher stay in the room. She was only allowed to practice the piano or read educational books thatwere accompanied by the sounds of rain and wind.
She suddenly missed those days. She now no longer had anyone forcing her to do anything.“Those were the good old days,’ she thought to herself. Sage suddenly felt stuffy in the car as shethought about many things. So she rolled down the window and let the rain seep in. Her face wasmoistened as she heard a loud cry from a kid.
A mother was carrying her child and she was attempting to cross the roads, but she fell down andthe baby fell off her arms, hence the crying. A loud horn blasted from the cars nearby, and thedrivers were shouting out of the window,” .Watch where you're going! Are you trying to get killed?”Sage frowned. As she was about to get down, someone else dashed across the road and picked thebaby up, and passed an umbrella to the mother. He held the kid in his arms and helped the mothercross the roads and said to her, “You got to follow the traffic rules and stick to the pedestriancrosswalks. It's dangerous out here.” Sage immediately recognized his voice. He wore a white shirtwith acid-washed jeans. His tall build was half soaked, but he was still smiling ever so brightly.
The young man wiped away the little girl's tears and gently comforted her. He took out a lollipopfrom his pocket as if he was performing some kind of magicto impress the child. The little girlimmediately stopped crying and reached out for the lollipop. He purposely held the lollipop stickhigher and teased her, “Call me handsome.” The little girl could not reach as her hands were tooshort. She pursed her lips and gave him a peck on the cheek.
Sage was stunned.
The young man's face froze and he turned bright red. He wiped his cheek and quickly handed thelollipop over. He ran away immediately after that. Sage laughed as she saw the scene. It made herday watching that unfold.
“Jim could totally star in a comedy,” she teased. She finally reached Tasteful Restaurant. As shewalked in, Jim was drying his head with a towel and was complaining to Myles. “No wonder MissSage kept reminding me to protect myself. Even three-year-old girls are so unrestrained, how wouldthe grown-ups behave around me?”
"You seduced her with the lollipop first,” Sage couldn't help but laugh at Jim. Jim froze and turnedback to discover Sage laughing at his newfound misery. He was stunned, and his ears turned redagain, "Miss Sage, did you really see all that?"
