Chapter 294 Embarassed, Jim nodded while scratching the back of his head. “It's my first timegetting a gift for a girl and 1 didn't know what to get. So, I asked my aunt and she said that girlsusually like bags or accessories. I haven't seen you wearing a lot of necklaces, so I thought ofmaking you one.”

Sage noticed the wounds on his fingers. Even though he did not have any band-aids on, she sawthe cuts and dried up blood on his fingers.

She had experience in carving, hence she knew how the wounds came about on his fingers.

Jim quietly hid his hands behind his back. “It's my first time, so I'm not used to it. But it'll get better.”Sage stared at Jim silently. She did not know what to say.

She owned a lot of accessories and pieces of jewelry.

Just the pieces of jewelry she received from her mother were more than enough for her to wear.Plus, the gifts she received from her brothers, adding all up together, would be enough for her toopen up her jewelry store.

Sage rarely wore them simply because those necklaces made of pure gold or silver were too heavy.Hence, she would only wear those necklaces on important occasions.

That was the first time that she ever received a handmade necklace from a guy.

It would be of course, hard for a guy with big hands to make something small and delicate fromscratch.

The more Jim tried to downplay his efforts, the heavier the necklace weighed in her hand.

Sage felt strange, somehow. A ridiculous thought flashed across her mind when Myles walkedtoward them, tussled Jim's hair, and said, “Sweet, ain't he? He got me a customized cooking knifefor my last birthday.” Pressing his lips tightly together, Jim thought to himself, "Why are youinterfering at this time

Sage was slightly relieved upon hearing Myles’ words. With a solemn tone, she said, “I know thatyou want to make me happy, but you're a basketball player, and a chef. You know better that yourhands are the most important to you. Why would you do something that would injure your hands?”Seeing how Sage got all serious, Jim felt his heart drop, not because he was afraid, nor intimidatedby Sage. Simply because he did not want to upset her. Panicking like ants on a hot stove, Jim's faceflushed red, not knowing what to say.

He simply stared at her with his clear, bright eyes, looking all helpless.

Even someone as cold-hearted as Sage could not stand to stay mad at him, Finally, Sage’s hardenedface softened a little. “Alright, I'll accept your gift. But only this time,

no more next time."

Jim nodded happily and said, “Okay!”

“Silly child...” Sage wanted to pat his head but she could not reach him.

Slightly startled, Jim bent over a little to lower his head.

He looked like a giraffe bending over its neck...

Sage slipped out a chuckle and took back her hand. “Alright now, we must make haste now! I haveto start cooking.”

Jim was slightly disappointed that Sage did not pat his head.

However, he believed that there would come a day that he would get the chance. Collecting himself,Jim followed Sage and said, “Let me help you, Sage!”

Sage always dominated the kitchen.
