A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 296
Chapter 295 Standing in front of the cooking stove, she looked like a female warrior who was aboutto enter the battlefield. The ladle in her hand suddenly looked like a battle sword. She lookedsomewhat charismatic and intimidating.
Dean and Jim, on the other hand, acted as Sage's sidekicks and did as they were told.
The food materials were prepared beforehand, hence Sage only had to cook them. By the time allthe dishes were ready, her brothers arrived one by one.
The youngest among her brothers, Luther arrived first. He went to the airport to pick up Nigel Jett.He exclaimed at the delicious smell. “Damn, it smells amazing!”
Turning his head to look at Nigel, he said, “Nigel, what did I say? I told you that Sage was going tocook, didn't I? See, I was right!” During their drive to the restaurant, Nigel and Luther alreadybickered with each other the entire time. Just when Nigel was about to say something, he saw Sagewalking out of the kitchen. Beaming, he pulled into a wide grin, opened his arms, and said, “Comehere, you little one! Hug me.” Grinning, Sage walked into Nigel's arms. “Nigel, you're quite late, aren't you?" She added, “I've returned to Salem City for quite some time now, and I only get to seeyou now."
“But I did send the rest of your brothers to see you, didn't 1?" smiled Nigel. Nigel and Luther lookedquite alike. Big and clear eyes, a tall nose, sharp jawline, and broad shoulders. They were all a good-looking bunch. But they were different in the sense that Luther was the mischievous, playful typewhereas Nigel was the gentle and elegant type.
However, Nigel naturally adored her a lot.
Nigel then tried to explain himself, “I was assigned several major surgeries and had to traveloverseas a lot, that is why I couldn't replace the time to come to see you. If not, I would have visitedyou earlier.” “I understand that you're busy with work at the hospital and everyone needs you.” Sagewas not mad at him because she understood the responsibility that one had to bear as a doctor.Taking a look behind his back, she asked, “You came alone? What about Sean?” Nigel sulked, “Well, the big lawyer is much busier than me.” To Sage and Luther, Nigel looked like he was sulking like alittle child. Both of them could not help but burst into laughter,
“Nah, who cares about him. It's his loss for not being able to try your cooking. Here, look whatwe've got you for your birthday.”
Nigel passed an envelope to Sage excitedly, with a proud look on his face, he said, “We've thoughtabout this long and hard and finally came up with this idea.”
Nigel looked like he waited for Sage to praise him. Staring at the envelope, Sage had no idea whatwas inside. A photo? A contract? A postcard? Luther who sneaked in a mouthful of dishes walked upto Sage, he was curious too.
Opening up the envelope, Sage took out the piece of document inside. It was neither a photo, acontract, nor a postcard. It was a ...medical insurance policy. Luther was confused.
So was Sage.
Nigel, on the other hand, looked all pleased with himself. “I thought that you're not lacking inanything, and the hospital just introduced new medical insurance and I thought of getting you one.So? Don't you think that it's practical and something out of the box?" Nigel still waited patiently forSage to praise him.
Sage and Luther were rendered speechless.
“It's not bad.” Sage quietly put back the papers into the envelope. She suddenly knew what shewould wish for this year's birthday.
She wished that she would never have to use the medical insurance that Nigel gifted her. Nigel wassomething else.
Chapter 296 “Goodness Nigel! How could you think of giving Sage medical insurance as a gift?Hahaha...” Luther almost passed out from laughing too hard. He was baffled that Nigel and Seanwould think of surprising Sage with such a gift. Luther thought that they were ridiculous yet at thesame time adorable. Sage and Nigel stared at Luther in disdain. They looked as if laser beams wereshooting out from their eyes
Annoyed that Luther laughed too hard, Nigel kicked him on his back and asked, “Then what did youget for Sage?” Nigel wanted to see what Luther had gifted Sage. With tears welled up in his eyesfrom too much laughing, Luther wiped away the tears, straightened his back, and passed somethingto Sage. “Here, this is from my dad. It's some pocket money. Look carefully, I didn't keep any tomyself.” Who would reject the idea of receiving money? Even Sage was delighted to receive money.”Give my thanks to your dad!”
“Now, come and see what I've got for you.”
Patting Sage’s head, Luther then put his arms around her shoulders, leading her to the door. Nigeltoo followed behind them. Right in front of the Tasteful Restaurant was a car covered with a blackpiece of cloth. Putting . a car key into Sage’s hands, he said, “I had it imported from overseas, it'syours now.”
Nigel sulked, “I thought you were going to give something exceptional. But it's only a sports car?Tsk tsk.” Luther retorted, “This is not just any ordinary sports car...” Before Luther could even finishhis sentence, Sage walked toward the car and pulled the black cloth away. It was a Porsche 911 thatwas repainted in an emerald green color. The car was glistening under the bright streetlights.
At the sight of the green color, Luther got all excited and asked, “So? What do you think? It'sgorgeous, isn't it?”
Sage looked conflicted. “Luther, your taste is... rather unique,” Luther was speechless. “Hahaha-" Itwas Nigel's turn to laugh at Luther, In terms of the gifts, Nigel and Luther were no different thaneach other, but they both believed that their gift was more unique than the other.
Aside from the unique color of the car, Sage did quite like the car that was remodeled by 1. Luther.Taking her new car for a drive, Sage did a few smooth drifts.
Jim had just finished setting up the table and headed to the entrance. At the sight of Sage driftingin her new car, he let out a loud gasp in surprise that startled both Nigel and Luther,
With pride written all over his face, Luther said, “She's cool, isn't she? I get chills all over whenever Isee her drifting.”
He then sighed softly, “It's such a pity that she retired from street racing for quite a while
now.”
Jim could not seem to remove his eyes from Sage.
He thought to himself that Sage was way too gorgeous.
Jace arrived at Rosa Garden. He initially planned to book a table at Tasteful Restaurant to celebrateSage's dinner. But halfway through their drive to Bridge Lane, Zayne informed him that someonehad booked the entire restaurant for the night.
With a hardened expression, Jace said, “I want it booked even if we have to offer ten times theprice.” Zayne then tried to negotiate with the manager of the restaurant. “Sir, the manager said thatit's not a matter of the price. The restaurant is serving some WIP guests for the night and even ifyou were to offer a hundred times the price, you wouldn't be able to get a table. They suggest thatwe change to another place or come back another day.” With a gloomy face, Jace pressed his lipstightly into a straight line. “We'll go to Rosa Garden.”
