Chapter 529

"Why are you staring at me?” Jace replied, “You look pretty.” Sage fell silent. She quietly thought toherself, “I know I'm good-looking. Isn't that obvious?” “Stop staring. I can't eat with you staring likethat.” Sage’s tone was stiff.

"Oh." Jace closed his eyes and promised, “I'll stop staring.”

Sage became speechless. Why was Jace being so silly?

She ignored him and continued eating.

The room stayed silent for a moment until someone's tummy suddenly growled a little.

Sage's actions stopped upon hearing the abrupt noises. She looked up suddenly, glancing fromJace's stomach to his face.

Jace did not expect his stomach to growl that loudly and so his face flushed a little. “You haven'teaten?” Sage asked in surprise. Jace stiffened. “Not yet.” He managed a smile, paused a little, thenexplained, “It was already noon when I rushed home from the museum. I was afraid that you werehungry, so I rushed over with the food. You can eat first. I'm not hungry yet. I'll eat later.”

Sage wrinkled her brows. His stomach was already growling. How was he not hungry? She pulledopen the drawer and took out the disposable cutleries for him. She gave it to Jace and said, “Let'seat together.” Jace grabbed the cutleries and looked at Sage in disbelief. “Eat together, huh?” Sagecould not stand looking at him acting so cautiously around her. It was as if he owed her something. She said faintly, “I can't finish the food alone anyway.” It was rare for her to be willing to dosomething with him. Jace did not refuse either. He opened the new disposable cutleries and pickedup some meat for her with his clean cutleries. “Eat more meat. It's good for your growth. You're toothin.”

Sage was not used to his attentiveness. “Just eat your food.”

The two of them ate quietly and did not talk much. However, Jace appreciated this preciousmoment between them. He tried to slow down his pace and hoped he could stay with her like

this forever.

Even so, it was just a meal. No matter how slow Jace prolonged the meal, it eventually came to anend.

Jace savored the last bite and was reluctant to let this moment slip away.

Sage looked at Jace in confusion. She could not understand Jace's action. She wondered if he hadnot eaten a full meal in a long time. She was impressed looking at the empty lunch boxes

After packing up the lunchbox, Jace took out a wooden box and handed it to Sage.

Sage took the wooden box and was a little startled. “What's this?”

Jace did not tell her the answer. He only urged on, “You'll know when you open it.”

What a mystery.

Sage opened the wooden box and saw a small enamel bowl in it. The bowl was exquisite and verycolorful. Sage's beautiful eyes sparkled in joy. “This is a treasure!”
