Chapter 541 For the sake of Sage’s safety, the guys wanted to send her back to Salem City rightaway and keep her in Rosa Garden. However, Jace was injured because of her and the guys knewthat Sage would not leave until they were safe. Ross, Kane, and Luther stood in front of Sage toprotect her. The moment they realized that Sage left the hospital, Kane and Ross were on their toessince then.

The bullet could have hitten Sage.

The guys could not bring themselves to imagine the worst if anything happened to Sage.

Just the thought of it was enough to send chills down their spine.

The Yuriels heard of the news and arrived at the hospital. Aunt Wendy pushed Freya who was in awheelchair toward them. Freya looked worried, “Sage, what happened to Jace?”

“Aunt Freya.”

Sage stood up to greet her. Holding Freya's hands in hers, Sage felt her lips go dry. “He's stillinside.”

“He was fine earlier, wasn't he? What happened?”

Placing her hand on her chest, Freya added, “You were nearly injured and now Jace. Who did this? Are they trying to mess with the Yuriels? Look into this! I must know who dares to mess with us!”“I'm so sorry Aunt Freya. It is because of me that Jace got hurt.”

Sage felt utterly guilty.

Freya patted her hand and comforted her, “What are you talking about, sweetie? What does thishave to do with you? It is only right that he protects you and gets hurt from it. He'll be fine. He willl"Right then, someone urgently walked toward them.

It was Lucas Spencer. “Freya.”

He looked as if he ran all the way here. He gasped, caught his breath, and looked slightlydisoriented.

"How's our son?"

Freya frowned and seethed, “What are you doing here?”

Before Lucas could say anything, the ER door was pushed open.

Going through Jace’s medical report, the doctor said, “The patient suffered several heavy

blows to the head and there is a lot of swelling and congestion of blood in the brain. Were thereany signs of him getting dizzy, feeling nauseous, or throwing up? Why wasn't he sent for check-ups?”

Everyone was stunned by the doctor's words. “Suffered from several blows?” Freya frowned. “Whenelse aside from this time?” Sage froze. She was suddenly reminded of the time when a crazy fanthrew a rock at her at Ark Town and Jace shielded her from it. The rock ended up hitting Jace’s headand he was injured quite badly. Sage was shocked to replace that Jace did not go to have it checked.Lucas shot a glare at Zayne. “What happened exactly? Are you even doing your job right?” Zayne, who was frightened, stammered, “It... It might be that one time at Ark Town... Sir wanted to protectMiss Sage from a fan who wanted to attack her with a stone and Sir ended up getting hit in thehead instead. Ever since then, he'd get headaches but he thought that it was just an old sickness ofhis. I've asked him to get a check-up but Sir was too busy with his work and...”

“He was hit twice and both times were because he was protecting Sage?”

Lucas then turned to look at Sage.

Sage, on the other hand, was stunned. Her face was as pale as a paper.

"Why are you blaming Sage for this?".

Freya said to Lucas, “As Jace's parents, it is our mistake for not taking an interest in our son! Youshould reflect on yourself before pointing fingers!” She then asked the doctor, “Doctor, is my son ina bad situation? Does he need to undergo surgery?”

“The blood clots in his brain manifested clinical symptoms and he must be operated on right away. We'd need to perform a cranial surgery on him.” Everyone was stunned. “A cranial surgery?”
