Back in Birmingham, Tim sent Sage back to Meadow Castle and headed to Humming Hills. Therewere things that had to be settled between him and Madam Meyers. It was late at night inBirmingham, whilst Salem was just before dawn. Sage did not call as she assumed that certainsomeone must have been sleeping. She took a shower and got ready for bed. Jace, on the otherhand, had been checking his phone an ungodly amount of times. Yet, there were no messages fromSage.

When he closed his eyes, he swore he could hear his phone ring, as if he was hallucinating. He thentumed his phone volume to the highest.

Jace tossed and turned the whole night, unable to fall asleep.

Sage, over at the other side, had just lit up a rose-scented candle. She put on her sleeping eye maskand fell asleep in an instant with the aid of the sound of the rain outside. The next day, early in themorning, she woke up lazily from her sleep. She wanted to do some light stretching to wake herselfup. Tim and Seth were not home, but fortunately, her godfather was in the castle. Sage woke him upand dragged him to the backyard for some light exercise. “Godfather, let me teach you somestretching exercises that help with anti-aging.”

Sage sighed in relief and said, “What would I do without you.”

Sage then said worriedly, “Make sure to watch Yeva, don't let her visit Julian. He might be dead, butit's still risky.”

“Yeah, I know.” Leah said, “When Yeva learned that Julian had died, she was surprisingly calm. Shesat silently for a long time before saying, “this is it". Sage did not know what to say. She did not havemuch sympathy for either Julian or Yeva.

“Aunt Shiloh came back to the country to take Yeva away with her today.”

“That's good.” Sage continued, “Just help her with packing then. I'll have Hunter transfer somemoney to your account and pass them over to Aunt Shiloh.” “It's okay, Sage, I have...” “Please.”Sage hung up the call shortly after and texted Hunter right away.
