Chapter 683

Sage faked her death after Jace got into a car accident. She went to Nadeem City and married himwithout a second thought. Her brothers were against it but were not firm enough to stop

If they knew this would happen, they would have never agreed to let her stay with him for threeyears. Even if she had hated them, they would have stopped her.

Unfortunately, there was no if. Time would not turn back. Perhaps, this was fate.

Luther was a little sad too. “To be honest, I'm sad too. Although Jace treated Sage badly in themarriage, he really wanted to make up for it after the divorce and even risked his life...”

Luther choked up and could not go on.

Sadness was looming in Nigel's eyes. “Maybe this is how he wanted to make it up for her.Unfortunately, the price he paid was too high. The dead can’t come back to life. They could havebeen fine.”

Kane took a hard drag on his cigarette with grim eyes. “What's the point of talking about it now? He's dead. Whatever he has done to Sage in his life is all in the past. The most important thing nowis to help Sage get back on her feet.” Seth sighed softly. “It's hard. She loved him for ten years. Hetook up half of the first twenty years of her life. Who can bear to see it end this way?” The fourbrothers sighed together. They felt sad for Jace and even sadder for Sage. Their Sage had a reallydifficult life...

“Eat something.” Tim told Sage, “Drinking on an empty stomach is bad. You're a doctor. You don'tneed me to teach you about health, do you?”

Sage did not want to eat, but she was afraid of Tim. She picked up the honey water and poured itdown her throat. However, she began to feel nauseous halfway through the drink.

She stood up, covered her mouth, and rushed into the washroom to throw up.

She threw up everything she drank. She had not eaten, so there was nothing else to throw up. It wasall acid and liquor. A big hand patted her back gently. Tim handed her a glass of water and let herrinse her mouth. Sage’s brain cleared up a lot after throwing up, but she looked more sorrowful.“Tim.” Sage said softly, with a pale and weak smile on her face, “I thought I was just dreaming. WhenI wake up, I finally realize that he's really dead.” Jace was no more and gone.

Tim's heart throbbed in pain. However, his face remained indifferent. “Sometimes, death may be arelief. It's better to say goodbye this way than torturing each other forever.”

“But he didn't even say goodbye.” Sage’s weak voice was feeble and lifeless. “How is this agoodbye?”

Tim was silent for a long time.

After a long silence, he said slowly, “Sometimes, not saying goodbye is probably better. When yoursister-in-law left, she said goodbye to me with a smile. She said she didn’t blame me.”

Tim wrinkled his brow a little. His hand holding the cigarette trembled slightly, “But for me, I stillblamed myself for every day that goes by.”

Sage looked up at Tim. Tears began streaming down her cheek again because of his words.

The rain outside was not stopping. The pitter-patter on the windows hit her hard in her heart."We'll have to move on and live. After all, we still have a family that loves us and manyresponsibilities to bear.”

Tim reached out and shook Sage's shoulder softly. He was no longer treating her like a child but likean adult. “Time will heal everything. All we have to do is keep moving forward and don't look back.”
