Alpha Nicholas
Chapter 30 –

Bonnie

Sitting here listening to Nicky's story is intense. He hasn't told me a great deal yet but still, I can already feel that there's so much more to come. There are so many things running through my mind right now, so many questions but I am afraid to ask him yet as I don't want to distract him and have him change his mind about telling me his story. "So what happened next?" Yes, fine, that was a question but it's different. He looks up a little startled and I feel bad for doing it when he is so clearly lost in his thoughts as he shifts in his chair while keeping ahold of my hand. "We walked for miles through one of the biggest forests that I have ever seen without hearing or seeing anything. For a moment I was wondering if we were even in the right place after all, the last thing we needed was to be in the wrong place and to get into trouble for nothing. Don't get me wrong, we were all more than happy to spend all day helping our best friend locate that place, nor did we have a problem with getting punishment for it but for Tony's sake, I didn't want it to be a wasted trip."

"However, the reality was that our teachers had probably already noticed us missing and the moment they called our parents even just one of them, they would have had their asses down there searching for us, and of course, it wouldn't have just been our parents that would have arrived. If they thought that we were missing then they would have brought half the pack with them and in turn, made it so much harder for us to stay one step ahead to do what we needed to before they found us."

"Anyway, we kept walking for another few miles before we started to hear sounds, possibly voices and I remember feeling my whole body instantly tense up. I'd had a bad feeling all morning and it was only getting worse but I still tried to ignore it. Thankfully, it didn't take us long to replace a clearing in the middle of the forest that was covered in tents and looked like the perfect Rogue hideaway."

"Of course, Tony being Tony, he tried convincing us to head back and let him do it alone but that just wasn't happening. Only while we were busy convincing him of the latter we hadn't realized that Adrian had wandered off a little further away and was getting pretty close to the opening. We called him and called him but it appeared as if he couldn't even hear us and that's when we heard those voices again, and then a group of Rogues appeared in the clearing from the other side of the forest and I just knew that shit was about to hit the fan. The forest was massive but in that moment it felt like everything was closing in on us."

My heart pounds as I listen to his story. Granted he had Alpha blood in him but he was still only 12 years old and while it was pretty stupid of them to go somewhere like that alone, I also believe it took a lot of courage. I watch as he sits on the chair and once again I remember how uncomfortable those things can be and pat the bed in front of me as I sit up and cross my legs. It's been a while since I've been able to sit in this position without much pain and I enjoy every second of it.

He hauls his big frame onto the bed and crosses his legs crisscross apple sauce style like me. For such a large man he shouldn't be able to sit like that with such grace. Still, somehow he does it and then takes my hand back in his. He seems to like to hold my hand which I don't mind, if anything I love it but being this close to him and feeling these tingles run up my arm is both comforting to my soul and devastating for my heart. I knew that talking about this would be hard but fuck, it is so much harder than I could have ever imagined, and I've not even gotten to the worst part yet. I try not to think about that day too often because even after all these years the memories are still too raw but my mate has been incredible the whole time that I've been talking, she has just listened and let me hold her hand through it all. I'm not sure how she going to react to what I tell her next but I know that she can handle it, She is so much stronger than she realizes. "It didn't take us long to figure out that Adrain was in some kind of magical trance which was strange considering Rogues aren't known for harbouring witches, but when you added that to Tony's mom's bloodline, it made the whole thing even more insane. Tony's mom, Lisa was half witch, her mom was a witch and her dad was a werewolf but Lisa never practiced any magic. Something happened when she was little, I don't know what, but she never even wanted to talk about magic, never mind use it." "Which had you all thinking that maybe she was there and using her magic?" Bonnie asks. "Yeah, it was too much of a coincidence. Tony tried once more to get us to leave, practically begged us but there was no way that we were doing that, there was no way I was leaving him, but then things started to get out of control when Adrain started walking into the opening where the tents were and I just knew that things were about to go downhill and quickly. So instead, I made Cole and Ryan head back to the castle to get some help while I stayed back with Tony. Only by the time I had gotten them to leave and turned around to head back to Tony, he had disappeared and so had Adrian and the group of Rogues."

"I couldn't figure out where they had gone so I did the only thing my 12-year-old overactive Alpha brain could think of and I headed into the opening alone to search for them. I swear I checked every tent but there wasn't anyone in sight. For a while, I just stood in the middle of the opening staring at the sky willing a plan to come to mind but nothing did. I knew it was dull to do it alone but I had gotten to the point of complete panic and I just needed to know what had happened to them. I just needed to replace them. "What... what did you do next? Did Ryan and Cole manage to get any help?" I can see sadness in my mate's eyes and it tugs at my heart. She doesn't know any one of the guys, not really, me either for that matter and yet, here she is feeling compassionate about what happened. This girl is too good for this world.

"That's just it, I don't know. The next thing I remember is waking up in a room tied to a bed with Tony in the bed next to me. The room was some run-down wooden hut but it also had a lot of high-end medical equipment. Tony woke up just minutes after me and just seconds before the door to the room swung open and Adrian came running in all frantic and covered in sweat telling us we needed to go."

"The next thing we know there's absolute mayhem as growls and snarls were all we could hear and before we even saw them I knew it was our pack. What we didn't know was that there were also other members from another two packs with them as they had been visiting our parklands that day and they were more than happy to help replace us. Luckily for us, they were also among the top-ranking wolves of their packs and always ready to kill, and kill they did."

"Of course, the moment they got us out of the hut we were taken away from the campgrounds so we never saw what went down that day. Well, except for Adrian. After we had been taken off the pack lands he started losing his shit, rambling to himself while pacing around by the SUV that we had been told not to leave only he did, out of nowhere he ran off and back into the woods. We tried to chase him but the guards wouldn't let us, told us that they would link someone to replace him but... but they never did. I don't know what kind of spell he was under but he was definitely somehow being controlled. I'm guessing that he somehow managed to break it for a short time while he helped us escape but then it must have become too much for him."

I stop to take a breath and get a handle on the emotions that are weighing heavy on my heart when I notice tears in my mate's eyes. I reach out and swipe my thumb across a stray tear and suck in a breath when I feel the tingles from our touch slightly calm my ranging emotions. "Do you... did you ever replace out what happened to him?" Here comes one of the hardest parts of this story and I silently will Storm to keep calm while I tell it. At least until we can get out ass away from our mate anyway.

"Not for sure but there is a rumor and I believe it to be true. So after the fighting had stopped all of the Rogues were dead apart from one. My dad kept him alive to try and get information out of him and luckily for us, it worked. This Rogue didn't even want to be a Rogue and he wanted to be part of that pack even less but he was afraid to leave because they had warned that anyone to leave would be haunted down and tortured. It told us that he didn't have any part of the bad that went on, he only wanted to help people and after some time of talking everyone was pretty sure that he was telling the truth. He told them that the Alpha Rogue and his chosen mate were missing and of course, his chosen Mate turned out to be Tony's mom, Lisa." "So did Adrain go with them?"
