Alaric shifts into a white wolf, and theybegin tumbling around my room, snapping at each other. I can't see much, but then a howl echoesthrough my apartment. I come running to make sure Malachi is okay and see Alaric hasdisappeared.

Malachi looks my way, still in his wolf form, and I can see the concern in his wolf's eyes. I walk tohim, looking at him when he nestles his snout into me like he wants me to pet him. I reach my handout and slowly touch his fur. I'm mesmerized. I've never seen a Werewolf in their wolf form. Amelianever had a reason to shift in front of me.

Malachi lays down, and I sit on the floor kneeling in front of him. He puts his head in my lap, and Icomb my fingers through his fur. "Thank you for saving me, Alpha,” I say in a sweet voice, pulling hiswolf's head to make eye contact with me. I wrap my arms around Malachi's neck, hugging his wolflike he was a teddy bear.
