Alpha Queen
Chapter 12

Blake’s POV

I tried calling Livi but she hasn’t answered my calls once.

She didn’t go to school today and she didn’t even tell us anything or atleast called or text us which is very unlikely of her.

El didn’t come to school too and they live in the same house.

I drove my car to where Livi lives. It’s been a while since I last came there since Livi preferred coming over to our house and not the other way around.

I’m Blake Smith, 18 years old and one of Liviana’s bestfriend since we were kids. We basically grew up together.

My parents used to work for her dad and we became close being the same age and all.

I’ve known Liviana most of my life and I know her like the back of my hands.

She’s not much of an extrovert but she’s a great friend and an amazing person over all.

She’s kind, caring and loyal.

If I’m being honest, I’ve always liked her ever since we were little.

She used to protect me and stay by my side when I was a weakling. She was ready to sacrifice herself for me if it meant I wouldn’t get hurt.

I really worked on myself to changed. I learned to fight and defend myself, my family and Livi if I had too.

She’s family too.

After driving for I don’t know how long, I finally arrived at a big gate and a guard approached my car.

“Uhm hey. I’m looking for Livi” I told the guard. He looked at me for a moment then looked to the front without a word.

“I’m her bestfriend” I added. He then turns to look at me then motions one of the other guard to open the gate.

“Thanks” I said and drove in.

As I parked my car in front of Livi’s home, El comes out of the house. Or should I say mansion considering how big it is.

“Hey, Blake” he greeted and he gave me a pat on the back when I got out the car.

“What brings you here?” he asked.

“You guys didn’t go to school without a notice. Where’s Livi?” I asked.

“Upstairs in her room. I’ll go call her while you stay in the living room” he said and we went inside.

A little girl welcomes us shyly.

“Ellie” I called her softly. She’s El’s little sister. She’s grown up more than I anticipated.

“Hi” she greets shyly.

“Come here” I said softly with a smile. She approached me carefully.

“My name is Blake. Do you still remember me? You were really little when I last saw you” I told her.

“Hi Blake. How are you?” she asked shyly.

“I’m good. How are you?” I asked back. She smiled.

“I’m really good too. Thank you for asking” she said politely. I smiled.

“I like your dress” I complimented. She giggled.

“Thank you. My mommy bought it for me” she said.

“Blake” I turn to see Livi coming downstairs, fresh from the shower with a towel on her shoulder and in her oversized shirt and leggings.

I stood up and immediately hugged her.

“You weren’t at school and you haven’t answered any of my calls. I was so worried” I said. She starts to caress my back and chuckle.

“I forgot my phone was dead. I wasn’t feeling good today so I couldn’t go to school. Sorry” she explained.

I touched her forehead worried.

“How are you feeling now?” I asked worried. She gave me a small smile.

“I feel a lot better now. Did anything important happen at school?” she asked.

“Well, it was announced that there will be a camping trip on Wednesday to Friday” I told her. She raised a brow.

“That’s so sudden” she said. I nodded.

“I know right?” I said and we both chuckled.

“Okay. I’m going to school tomorrow, anyway” she said.

“Are you really okay now?” I asked her. She nodded.

“Definitely” she said confidently.

I slightly ruffled her hair.

Then we sat down in the living room with Ellie on Livi’s lap.

“Mom prepared snacks” El came in with two plates of sandwiches.

“Thank you, mrs. Wright!” I said and El’s mother peeks from the kitchen.

“You’re welcome, Blake” she said with a smile.

I give the first piece to Livi which she gives Ellie then I gave her another one and we started eating.

“Is Katie upset with me?” she suddenly asked.

“I think she’s more worried than upset” I assured her. She sighs.

“You think so?” she asked. I nodded.

“I know so” I said.

We we’re all eating and chatting when Livi suddenly froze for a moment.

“You okay?” I asked her worried again. She gave me a small smile.

“I just remembered something. I’ll step out for a moment” she said. I nodded in understanding.

“So, Blake. You still like Livi?” El suddenly asks. I chuckle..

“What makes you think that?” I ask him.

“Well, dude it’s too obvious” he said grinning. I laughed.

“How about you?” I asked him back.

“What about me?” he said.

“You used to like Livi too” I said remembering how when we were kids, we’d fight over who Livi’s partner would be.

We would always be rejected by her because she always chose Katie.

It was the funniest.

“Well, you can say that we’re still in the same boat” he tells me and we both chuckle.

“I’m giving up soon though” he suddenly says as he leans back his head staring at the ceiling.

“Why?” I ask curiously. He gives me a small smile.

“She’s not for me” he simply tells me.

Then my phone rings and I answer it.

“El, aren’t you going home for dinner?” it’s my mom.

“I am, mom. I’ll head out soon. I’m just going to say goodbye to Livi” I told her.

“You’re at Livi’s?” she asked.

“Yes, mom” I said.

“Oh okay, then. Take your time and tell Livi I said hi” she said.

“Okay, mom. I’ll see you later” I said and we hang up.

“That was my mom. I gotta go now” I told El. He nodded and stood up.

“I’ll walk you out” he said. I nodded.

“I need to go say goodbye to Livi” I said as we got out and my eyes wandered around looking for Livi.

Then, I spot her talking to someone familiar.

Is that Luan Grey?

“Uhhh Blake. I think you should go now” El said nervously.

“I will. I just need to tell Livi” I said and started walking to where Livi is.

“I don’t think—“

“Livi!” I called for her and both Livi and Luan looked at me.

How does he know Livi?

Luan glared at me as if I did something wrong as I approached them.

“You know each other?” I asked Livi as I reached them. Livi glanced at Luan.

“We have a class together. He’s my partner for a project that’s all” Livi said. I nodded and glanced at Luan as he stared at me with a frown.

“I’m going home now. Also, mom said hi” I told her and gave her a hug. I heard a growl then Livi moves turning her back to Luan and getting between us.

“I’ll come with you. I wanted to see your parents too” she suddenly told me.

“Oh okay. How bout him though?” I said pertaining to Luan. She looks at him.

“We have nothing else to talk about, right? Thanks for coming but you really should go home now since it’s late” she said and doesn’t wait for him to answer before pulling me to my car.

I look back at Luan and for for a second, I thought his eyes glowed green.
