Alpha Queen -
Chapter 26
Luan’s POV
“Uncle? Since when did you have a bloody uncle who is a hunter?!” I said. Liviana sighed.
“Obviously since the moment I was also took in by the father that I know but for the record, I only found out today” she shrugged. My brows furrowed.
“Also, he’s half werewolf” she pointed out.
“What?” I said confused.
“I’m not repeating myself” she frowned then plopped down her swivel chair.
“By the way, what are you doing here again anyway?” she asked with a brow raised at me.
“I sensed something was off so I came” I said.
As days pass by being around each other, our mate bond is starting to grow but we still feel distant because Liviana refuses to be marked.
Both my wolf and I are extremely frustrated by this and I’m sure Liviana’s wolf is too.
She’s the only one resisting the pull.
“I don’t like him. Will he be around much longer?” I asked her. She crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“I don’t think he’s very fond of you either but I think we all know that in order to be around me, you both have to be civilized around each other” she stated.
I hate that she’s right.
“How is he your uncle?” I asked instead.
“He’s my father Dimitri’s half brother” she said.
“How do you know he really is” I said raising my brow.
“I just do” she said making my eyebrows furrow.
“He might be lying” I said.
“I think I have excellent judgment skills. Also, with all the unexpected things happening lately, I’m not even questioning it anymore. The goddess has definitely taken a liking to me and made my life a living drama for her enjoyment” she sighed and massaged her temple.
I walked closer to her and leaned on her table just beside her and turned the swivel chair to face me. She looked up to me.
“How are you holding up?” I asked her concerned. She sighed then leaned her head on my body. I was a little taken aback because she was never one to show affection.
“Give me just a minute, Luan. Just a minute” she muttered as she closed her eyes. I caressed her hair.
We can stay like this forever and I wouldn’t mind.
I love this woman so much but I know she doesn’t feel the same way.
It’s frustrating.
Liviana sighed and pulled back.
I wanted her to be close to me longer but I already know how she is.
“Do you have any more agenda here? If not, I would appreciate it if you leave. I badly need a nap” she said and yawned. She must’ve really been tired.
“I can come with you” I said. She raised a brow at me.
“Come where?” she said.
“To bed” I said. She scoffed.
“I can sleep on my own, thank you very much” she said with a frown.
“It will be soothing to sleep together. You can recharge faster being around me because of the mate bond” I suggested.
“I’m not sleeping with you” she said coughing as she blushed.
“Who’s sleeping with who?” a cold voice said and we both turned to look by the door only to see the man from earlier who is the brother of Liviana’s foster father.
“No one” Liviana coughed and looked away embarrassed.
“Good” he said and I glared at him.
How dare him meddle with my mate and I’s relationship.
“Be thankful that Liviana sees you as her family because if not, I would’ve personally ripped your head off” I hissed at him. He chuckled making my b***d boil.
“Don’t think that I can’t take you on, wolfie. I know that you’re both still unmarked so I can still kill you knowing that I won’t be breaking a bond. She can still meet other males out there who isn’t you” he hissed back.
I growled at him and he growled back.
Liviana sighed and got in between us again.
“Can you both please stop? I don’t have the energy for this, really” she said weakly. I look at her with concern.
“Let’s get you to bed” I said and held Liviana’s hand. She pulled away.
“I can go to bed on my own. As for you, if you don’t want to leave, atleast stick with El and don’t cause any trouble or try to kill each other. Whichever comes first” she said looking at me then at her ‘uncle’.
Liviana walked out and El walked in.
“Who’s killing who?” El asked. We ignored him and glared daggers at each other.
“Y’all need to chill out. Also, Beta Edmond needs to talk you, Dante” El butt in. The hunter sighed and nodded before giving me one last glare and leaving.
Once he was gone, El looked at me.
“You do realize that he is Livi’s uncle, right?” he said. I sighed.
I’m the only one who knows about Livi’s identity aside from his foster father.
“He’s a hunter” I said.
“Still, he’s her family. If it makes you feel any better, he is half werewolf. You don’t need to get all worked up with him” he explained. My brows furrowed.
“Half werewolf?” I said. He nodded.
“Yeah. Dope, right? Liviana told us the details through mind link earlier” he shrugged.
It’s a very rare case.
I’ve never met a half b***d. Let alone a half wolf and half hunter.
It simply doesn’t make sense.
“What else do you know about him?” I asked.
“Not a lot. Just enough to ensure us that he’s not a threat to the pack” he said.
“How are you so sure that he’s not a threat?” I said.
“Livi knows what she’s doing. She wouldn’t risk the safety of the pack and she’d do everything in her power to protect everyone. We trust her more than anyone” he told me.
Liviana is more than just a good leader.
She’s an excellent one.
It makes me feel in love with her even more than I already am.
She’d make a wonderful Queen.
“Do you want to go with me to the training grounds? I doubt leaving is one of your options right now” he chuckled. I nodded.
We went out of the pack house and made our way to their training grounds.
Both young and of age wolves are training with whom I recall to as Alex, one of the warriors who fought alongside Liviana’s foster father when he went away.
This pack is the largest of the packs there is. To think that their Alpha is a young she-wolf.
My mate beat the odds.
She’s truly amazing.
I spot the hunter and Liviana’s uncle whose name is Dante. He is on the side with Edmond, my mate’s Beta and El’s father.
He is thoroughly watching the wolves train.
“I’ve heard that he’s also the most sought for hunter in Lunar. I would’ve never thought that he’s Alpha Dimitri’s brother and Liviana’s uncle. Fate really has ways of messing with people’s lives” he said. I agreed.
But what worries me most is the fact that the man’s sudden appearance in Liviana’s life seems odd.
Liviana didn’t know his existence all her life. Yet, she accepted him so eagerly.
Also, why did he only come back now?
He must have had a purpose.
But what?
