Alpha Queen
Chapter 54

Liviana’s POV

I stared into the distant as my mind wandered off somewhere.

“Livi”

I snapped back to reality.

“Are you okay?” Blake asked worried. I gave him a smalk smile.

“I’m good” I lied.

It’s been almost a month since I ‘rejected’ Blake and told him how I felt about Luan.

And it’s also been almost a whole month since I haven’t seen him.

Not even a glance.

Nothing.

He wasn’t in school anymore.

Atleast that’s what I heard.

He left.

After I went all through the trouble of figuring out what I felt about him and how even rejecting Blake, he left.

Without a single goodbye.

I tried to reach out to him a couple of times for the first two weeks that he was gone but he completely shut me off.

Even Amaris couldn’t get hold of his wolf because Luan is preventing him from Amaris.

I felt pathetic like I was trying to chase after him desperately.

So I stopped.

I didn’t care anymore if he cut us off.

I know now.

I shouldn’t have felt the way I did.

I shouldn’t have developed feelings for him.

That’s my fault.

And Amaris’ for being the btch that she is.

I sighed.

“Livi”

I looked up to see Cassandra.

“Can I please talk to you?” she asked. Blake and Katie looked at me for a moment.

“Okay” I simply said, stood up and excused myself.

We walked out of the cafeteria.

“What do you want to talk about?” I asked blankly. Cassandra looked at me with worry.

“How have you been?” she asked softly. I raised a brow at her.

“Why are you asking my this?” I said. She sighed.

“Well, it’s been almost a month since Luan left without telling any of us. Not even you; his mate” she said almost apologetically.

I chuckled in disbelief.

“I don’t even care. He can do what he wants with his life and he does not need to tell me anything about what he’s doing with his life like I don’t need to tell him what’s happening in mine” I said with a blank expression.

“But you’re mates” she said. I sighed.

“Not all mates need to be together. Luan and I can live both our lives separately. It’s not a big deal” I said and she sighed.

“Livi, don’t say that. I know very well how much you mean to Luan and how much he wants to be with you. I don’t know what suddenly came to him that he left but please be patient with him” she said hopeful.

“Let’s not talk about this anymore, Cassandra” I said and gave her a pat on the back.

Lunch ended and our afternoon classes started.

I couldn’t focus as I spaced out over and over again.

Amaris has been whining and whimpering without Luan.

I can feel her pain.

She feels upset and lonely because of our mate.

A rejection would’ve been better at this point.

Except it was already too late.

We can’t reject him now.

Chances are we both die because of it since we already spent so much time together.

If only I had rejected him a long time ago.

Class ended and I went home to the pack house in my motor bike.

I arrived there in no time and did my usual routine of showering then going to my office to deal with paperworks.

There was a knock on the door and Dante came in with a tray of food in his hands.

“Hey, princess” he greeted and put down the tray on the table on the side then gave me a k**s on the top of my head.

“Eat dinner first before you continue all of this” he said and took the papers from my table.

I couldn’t complain because this was already a normal occurrence at this point.

I refused to go down to have dinner because I just wanted to be buried in work to distract myself from unnecessary thoughts.

Thoughts that had to do with Luan to be exact.

Dante sat down in front of me as I lazily ate my food.

“That brat seems to be missing in action these days” he suddenly said.

I raised a brow at him.

“Your so called mate” he said and I frowned.

“So what if he’s not here. I actually prefer it that way anyway” I lied. He chuckled.

“What’s wrong, Liviana? Did he do anything? Do you want me to snap his neck for you?” he said sounding a bit too serious.

“No. He didn’t do anything” I said bitterly.

Dante looked at me with a raised brow.

“I don’t want to talk about it” I said as I avoided his gaze.

“Okay” he simply agreed.

I finished my food and Dante left with it to leave me to do my job again.

Again, I distracted myself with work and didn’t even keep track of time.

It was already midnight when I finished and got back to my room.

I plopped down my bed and stared at the ceiling.

There’s no use.

I can’t even sleep much.

I haven’t had any proper sleep since Blake confessed and after I asked Luan for space.

I thought I would be able to sleep after Blake and I settled our friendship.

But no.

Luan really had to give me a reason to continue being insomniac.

Great.

Just great.

I tried to fall asleep.

Then I saw myself in the meadow where I usually meet the moon goddess.

“Liviana”

I turned to see the moon goddess and I bowed to her as she approached me.

“How are you doing, my child” she asked but I only gave her a small smile.

“I guess your reaction means something is wrong” she stated although we both already know that she knew the answer to that question before she even asked.

“Is the absence of your mate bothering you?” she asked.

“No, of course not” I said defensively making the moon goddess chuckle. I blushed embarrassed.

“I don’t know what his problem is. We were okay when we last talked but now….now we’re a mess again” I said as my heart clenched.

The moon goddess gave me a hug.

“It will be okay, my child. Maybe like you, your mate also needs space” she tried to comfort me. I sighed.

“Goddess” I said.

“Yes, my child?” she said and looked at me.

“I’ve been meaning to ask. Why did suddenly you mark me?” I asked as politely as I could.

“If I didn’t mark you, you would’ve died Liviana. I had no other choice. My mark can and will protect you from future harm” she said as she lovingly caressed my hair.

I nodded in understanding.

“Now, now let’s not change the topic so quickly” she said and I g*****d in response making her chuckle.

“If you don’t want to talk about it with me, then I have an alternative” the moon goddess suddenly said.

My brows furrowed.

Alternative?

She turned her head to where the forest is and suddenly a familiar black wolf got out of the bushes.

I frowned.

Luan’s wolf.
