Chapter 19

Around 5.00 I pull up to the address Zander gave me.

His sports car is already parked in the driveway on the left side so I park my pristine white Suzuki Swift next to him.

It’s a cute little cottage, a classic English white, and grey old-style cottage, with a white picket fence all around the garden, you can see some of the fence beams have been damaged over the years.

There was an archway leading to the front door with a little gate that opened as you walked through.

The cottage had overgrown shrubs and vines running all through and around the front of the house, the flower bushes had gone crazy running along the fence line, and it seemed that someone hasn’t looked after the place in years.

Almost as if it was deserted.

There were a few houses around but you couldn’t see them for a few miles.

I had passed them along the way here. It is a beautiful place to grow up if you had a wolf to run around in the back woodlands.

The sun had started to set splashing the sky in pinks and orange.

I was starting to get more nervous about moving forward with Zander, this would be the first time we would be together without any interruptions, the first time to spend some quality time together and not have to worry about anyone else. I tried to psych myself up to get out of the car, Kia was bouncing around all happy we were seeing Our mate.

‘come on, it ‘ll be ok, he is waiting, and so is Jace, he can sense us from here’

I internally g*****d, dam her and her logical thinking. I can’t turn back now, then he really will be pissed off.

I slowly get out of the car and start to make my way through the gate towards the front door.

Inhale, Exhale, Inhale, Exhale.. I had to remind myself several times.

The nerves, and smelling his scent was driving Kia crazy and making me more and more nervous.

I’m not saying we will be mating and marking tonight.. no no we still had a lot of stuff to sort out before we get to that point.

I just have never been in the same room as Zander Blackwood, other than that tiny closet at school and well, I was a nervous wreck with that.

I want to know I can trust him, and maybe actually get to know him for him rather than knowing what he is like at school or around friends and all the rumors that go around.

I closed my eyes as I reached the front door and raised my hand to knock. Tap, tap, tap.

I hear heavy footsteps making their way towards the front door his scent becoming stronger and stronger with every step.

The door swings open to reveal him standing there looking like the most beautiful thing l have ever seen.

He’s in dark jeans with a short sleeve tee and comfy vans. His dark beautiful hair is sleeked back so it doesn’t get in the way of his eyes.

My breath hitches and catches me off guard, I blink up at him giving a small smile, which is all l can muster with his scent of wildflower and honey folding around me as it invades my senses. Making it harder to concentrate to replace the right words to speak.

His eyes drag longingly over my shape as I stand there, I haven’t got anything fancy on just a pair of jeans, a light blue long sleeve top that falls down my bottom. I thought as a nice gesture I would wear the hairpiece he gave me yesterday, so my hair is tied neatly behind held by the hairpiece.

After about a minute of us both standing there in silence, he finally broke the awkwardness and spoke first.

“Hey” he mumbled with a smile.

I frowned… maybe l wasn’t the only nervous one.

“Hey” I smiled back.

“Come on in. Can get you anything, Have you had dinner? I wasn’t sure what was here so I ran by the shops before I arrived and grabbed a few things.” He started to ramble.

I smiled, “ahh no I haven’t had anything yet, had a busy day so wasn’t able to get away for dinner beforehand.”

He nodded and stepped aside to let me through. As I passed I felt a wave of tingles shoot through me as I grazed my shoulder against his rock-hard chest.’ Mate, Mate, Mate’ Kia started chanting and bouncing around like a little pup.

I was 100% sure my eyes were dark and Kia was flashing through making herself present.

I looked up to see Zander’s eyes had also changed to a dark shade as his wolf tries to push forward in response to Kia.

I sighed, why couldn’t they go in the back of our minds and communicate that way instead of making things harder here.

“Sorry, Kia is a little excited,” I said to him.

He grinned. “It’s all good, and so is Jace maybe later on we can introduce them to each other.”

Kia pushed forward before I could answer”

I will hold that to you mate” she purred and took a step closer to Zander making sure the gap between us was smaller than l’d like.

Zander chuckled at her comment, lifted his hand to cup my cheek, and k!ssed me on the head.

I could feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment and pleasure as the firey tingles filled my body once again.
