Chapter 29

The tingles were flying all around my body as I snuggled against Zander. Kia is practically purring with happiness being so close to our mate.

The sun has moved over to this side of the house, slowly setting into the evening, warming up the bedrooms upstairs as we sit here, flicking through the photos and talking.

I’ll give him credit. I half thought he would make a move, whether it be something s****l or another k!ss. I was hoping he would lean in for another k!ss just a little bit, but I guess he didn’t want to push his luck.

It worried me a little bit that Mum knew Zander was my mate, it explained what happened this morning, but the weird thing was I couldn’t even remember anything from back then. He was so cute when he was a baby, it seems his hair sprouted in his older years, and he has the same eyes as his mother. I wish l remembered her or knew her. She and Mum looked like they were great friends like Chloe and me.

A pin of guilt washes over me as I think about my friends and family not knowing about Zander yet. I wish I could tell them. I wanted to get to know him more before everyone else was exposed to our relationship. I hope soon I can have the courage to say to people I found my mate. I don’t know how I will control myself around him now that I know what his k!sses are like.

“I vote we just strip naked right now and take him here on the bed, guarantee he will follow suit quickly,’ Kia mumbles at my thoughts.

“I’m just not ready yet, Kia’ I sighed.

I understand he is my mate, but I also want to be comfortable with him before doing anything intimate.

“It’s starting to get a little late. Did you want to stay for dinner?” Zander asks, pulling me away from my thoughts while giving me a small k!ss on the top of my head as he closes the photo album making a motion to move from the seat we had been sitting at the last few hours.

“I should probably get going. If the school calls my parents, I’ll most likely be in trouble for skipping.” I sigh, not wanting to leave his warm embrace. I have gotten used to all the little tingles, giving in to the bond and letting it consume me.

‘stuff school and parents, let’s stay the night here with our mate,’ Kia perks up excitedly.

“‘Kia,’ I mumble, rolling my eyes.

“Is everything ok? he asks.

“Oh yes, Kia is just being Kia,” I shrug, not wanting to give him too many details about her dirty mind and the dirty images she is currently flashing through my mind.

He chuckles at my comment as he quickly lifts me off the seat, placing my feet on the ground, steadying me by placing his hand on my back to make sure I don’t fall.

“How will you get home?”

“Oh, I hadn’t thought about that. I guess it’s past school hours, so everyone would have gone home already. l guess I’ll just run.”

I responded.

“Would you like me to drive you?” He asks

It’s sweet of him to want to, but I don’t think my family or pack members would appreciate that.

“I would love you too but, It’s ok. I don’t think they will be happy with you dropping me home.”

He pushes himself off the seat and makes his way towards the door. I step in front of him to block his path.

He raises an eyebrow in question.

I stand on my tiptoe to reach his cheek and k!ss him quickly. “Thank you for offering.”

He stands there stunned at my appreciation. I giggle and head back towards the door. I like that I have the same effect on him that he does on me.

He regains his composure and follows me back downstairs.

As I reach the door handle, he quickly closes it before I can open it, letting me out.

I spin around, about to question why. As soon as I do, he slams his lips to mine instead of the question leaving my lips, making me gasp in surprise.

His movements are soft and gentle, unlike before when they were hot and desperate.

His lips danced around mine, moving in deeper, and his hands started to make their way down my body sending pleasurable sparks flying everywhere. Not breaking away from the k!ss, he grabs my a-ss and lifts me to be level with him, pushing me against the door for support. I wrap my legs around him and pull him in closer. He g****s and pulls out of the !iss.

“lf you don’t leave now, I don’t know how much longer I can control Jace,” his husky voice grumbles.

I look into his eyes. They have gone entirely black with lvst. A little bit of gold flicks through every now and then. I can see the struggle he is having with his wolf.

I sigh and nod, unwrapping myself from his warmth and tingles no longer wrapped around me in comfort. A flush of cold washes over me as I pull myself away from him.

I enjoyed his k!sses, but I wasn’t sure how much further I was willing to take this. I felt a little bit bad leaving him like this but at the same time, I was glad he went in for another k!ss.
