I immediately let go of her shoulders. My brows still furrowed at her in confusion.

I made a lazy step back whilst Linda stepped forward from her position on the wall.

After inhaling a few deep breaths and smoothing down the wrinkles of her skirt, she spoke.

"I'm a doomsayer."

People in the room gasped in open disbelief at her sudden confession.

She lowers her head, refusing to meet my curious gaze pointed at the look of guilt evident in herface.

I straightened my posture and squared my shoulders, trying to get my shit together if I wanted toreplace my mate fast.

Blinking, I tried to erase that image of Eleanor pointing her fingers towards me as I collapsed on thefloor. That image where we were surrounded with a large, heavy pool of blood that rippled with herown tears.

I clenched my fists by my sides then drew in a deep breath in a bid to calm my ass down before mywolf takes over and g at her.

"Tell me all you know," I command, my voice sounding rough and husky, making her shiver andpurse her lips into a thin line.

Seconds passed with us staring at each other in complete silence. I could hear the employeeswhisper about themselves while they so curiously watched the scene unfold. I roll my eyes inwardly,not really that concerned to know people were watching us since I entered through the door.However, seeing the expression on Linda's face let me know she wanted some privacy. After all,doomsayers have long been hated in these past few centuries.

Grunting, I grabbed her hand and strode back towards the car. Ignoring the curious gazes of eachemployee standing dumbstruck in the shop.

Opening the car door, I plopped her down the passenger seat before striding to the other side. Ihopped right into the car and closed the door with a loud bang.

"Comfortable?" I asked.

Linda let out a sigh of both defeat and relief before she turned to face me.

"When you saved me from that guy, I told you I was exiled by my pack. I told you that they hatedme for being a rogue ever since Andrew found me in that cave.”

I nodded attentively, not taking my eyes off her face. She bit her lower lip as though hesitatingwhether or not to speak her next words.

"But I didn't tell you everything.” She says.

I furrowed my brows, noticing her gulp and study my reaction.

"As far as I know, I'm the last doomsayer. Doomsayers have the ability to predict the worst disastersthat could happen in the future. In most times, these are disasters that lead to a person's deathOther times, it's the worst event that will change a person, forever."

Suddenly, my father's voice entered my mind saying the same thing.

He mentioned the name several times in the past, but I just didn't pay attention to it any more thanI would have wanted to now. I shrugged off the feeling of guilt and tried to focus on Linda's voice."When you saw Eleanor for the first time, I had a bad feeling. I thought I could shrug it off, but whenI finally touched her, I saw..." She stopped there, looking at me hesitantly.

"Saw what?"

She heaved a short breath before opening her mouth to speak.

"Chaos." She whispered.

Dumbstruck, I opened my mouth but no words came out.

"All packs were raging at war, and some packs were fighting against each other. Alpha, you werethere. Protecting her.

"..In my vision, Eleanor stood on the pile of dead bodies in that war, and to me...It looked like..." Shepaused, making me furrow my brows closer. My heart beat sped up a thousand times faster themoment she uttered the words,

"She killed the whole pack.”

My wolf's growl rumbled with a vengeance inside my chest. Rage burned across my skin at thethought of my own people dying a merciless death under my rule.

However, to think that Eleanor...

"That's impossible. She's wolf-less. How could she--"

Just then, I felt my heart beat incredibly fast. I tossed my hands in the air out of instict, gripping thewheel. Panting as my breath becomes heavier and heavier in each second thay pass.

Why do I suddenly feel breathless?

Closing my eyes, I tried to make sense of what was happening to my body when Linda spoke.

"It's the mate bond. You can feel when the other's in danger. I'm so sorry, Alpha.”

Guilt flashed in her eyes as she reached out to hold my arm

"What did you do, Linda?" I grunted, pressing my forehead to the steering wheel whilst she rubbedmy arm up and down in slow motion.

"I was the one..." I hear her gulp before continuing her words.

"..who told her to leave." She confessed.

Despite me panting breathlessly in my seat, I snapped my head to her direction.

"WHAT?!" I growled.

She flinched back in her seat and lowered her gaze in front of me.

All of a sudden, a forbiddingy feeling of danger swept through me in an instant.

My eyes closed as if in their own volition when slowly, an image was starting to form in my mind.My heart raced when I saw Eleanor running desperately in the forest.

The background resembled the forest, yet I couldn't tell exactly where.

Suddenly, I was able to make out the dark figures of wolves running towards my mate. Brown andgray wolves snarling as they picked up their pace and chased after her.

It was then that I realized why my body was reacting the way it does right now.

She's in danger.

I feel my heart thump loudly in my chest, its speed accelerating when she slowed down her pace alittle, whipping her head to the wolves behind her.

'ELEANOR, RUN!!" I mindlinked her, hoping for the best although I knew she had no wolf I couldcontact her with.

To my surprise, she gasped in response as I felt our connection for the first time.

How... was the only word that filled my mind.

She staggered and scanned the forest in visible confusion.

'ELEANOR, WHEREVER YOU ARE, I'M BEGGING YOU... RUN!!" I shouted, praying to goddess shecould hear me clearly right now.

'A-Alex?’ I paused, stunned at the melodic sound of my mate's voice. It felt as though it was my firsttime hearing her beautiful voice since I first met her.

'C-Can you see me?’ She stuttered.

I feel her emotions burst right through me as though they were my own.

“No, I can feel you panicking out there, Eleanor. I can sense there's danger too. We're mates, Ellie.It's just how it works," 1 explain, when all of a sudden, I felt the mindlink drop.

Eleanor?" I tried to reach out one more time, but all I can hear was a screeching sound at the otherend of the line.

Shifting in my seat, I loosed my grip on the steering wheel and sat upright. My heart stopped racing,and my body didn’t feel weak from running in desperation. My usual poise and strength came backjust as quickly as it disappeared.

Whipping my head to the passenger seat, I saw Linda staring at me in awe.

"You..."

'ALEX, WE KNOW.. (muffled voice)!"

Before I could finish my sentence, Elijah’s voice sliced through my head, forcing its way into my earmaking me groan.

The sudden, forceful mindlink created a screeching sound that rang insufferably through myheadspace, causing my head to jerk back on the headrest and I cussed.

'ELJAH! What did I tell you about--"

"We found her, Al. Her location.” He says hurriedly.

"Where?"

"Southeast. She's been taken by an alpha named Ezekiel. Do you know him?" A thundering growlinstantly reverberated through the air, my own jealousy burning with an intense fire across myrough skin.

"No." I say huskily, tasting venom in my own voce as I bit back the curse words that threatened toslip out my throat.

"Meet me at the border. We're taking you there.” He utters before cutting the link in a hurry.

I was going to ask him who he's with but he fucking cut off the mindlink just like that.

I roll my eyes before letting my gaze turn back to Linda who was watching me the whole time."You're coming with me.” I give her a pointed look before turning on the car engine.

Her eyes widened for a brief moment, but her lips remained firmly shut. She then closed her eyes,probably to mindlink her employees to close the shop or handle things on their own today.Gripping the wheel, I drove off at an increasing speed.

Seconds passed, my mind then suddenly filled with thoughts about Eleanor and if she's found herway to safety right now.

Gritting my teeth, I glared at the road ahead of me and focused on driving so I could get there asfast as I possibly could.

Wait for me, Eleanor. I'm coming for you.
