Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman -
Chapter 469 Moore Got Hurt
After Moore heard that, a complex look took over his face and his heart became soft for her.
"Okay, let's go back!" Moore pinched Jean's cheeks affectionately and headed towards the car carrying their luggage. Jean was confused.
'He was really mad just now. How did he forgive me so soon?
How could he just believe in such a lame lie?
Am I dreaming?
No, absolutely not. My face aches where Moore has pinched.
What is wrong?'
Jean was really puzzled.
Following Moore towards the car, Jean kept silent.
Moore put the luggage in the car. When he saw Jean's confused look, he smiled gently and opened the door of the car.
After he fastened his seat belt, he looked at Jean who still looked confused. So he asked in an amusing way,"Do you want to get in the car or not? Otherwise, we'll leave without you." As Jean heard that, she came back to her senses and hurriedly opened the door to get in.
As the car started, Jean looked at Moore nervously. He sat in the passenger's seat, beside the driver.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that? You can ask me any question." Moore was in a good mood, so he offered Jean a chance to ask anything she wanted to know. "Really? You won't get mad?" Jean asked with hesitation.
Moore suddenly furrowed and replied, "If you are gonna ask about him, you shouldn't."
"But..." Jean pouted and said,"I have to ask about him. I can't hold it in anymore. You know I am pregnant, right? Aren't you a little afraid that holding it in will harm my body?"
Jean threatened Moore and suddenly his mood changed. He placed his hands on his forehead as if in pain and said, "Can you just hold your questions for a moment? Wait until we get home and then you can ask Zed." "But I can only talk to you about this," Jean blinked and said innocently.
"Jean!" Moore got angry once again. He looked back at Jean but after he saw Jean was scared, his anger subsided.
"Moore..." Jean looked at him and cried out.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't behaving appropriately." Moore looked at her face innocently and sighed. "Okay, you can ask whatever you want to. I'm listening."
As soon as Moore said that, Jean asked, "Moore, I don't think Gary Bai is cold and cruel as you described him. Maybe you misunderstood him?"
'I knew it!'
Moore thought. He knew that Jean would ask him this out of curiosity.
But he didn't expect her to ask it in such a hurry.
"Don't get this wrong because I don't mean to speak for him," Jean explained as she saw Moore's face.
"I know," Moore said, "I didn't misunderstand him. I saw everything with my own eyes. Jean, I thought you would always trust me. What? You just met him and you want to speak for him."
As Jean saw Moore getting angry, she laughed bitterly and said, "Moore, since you are my best friend, I don't want you to hate the wrong person. Besides, he is very close to you!"
"Do you think I hate the wrong person?" Moore laughed coldly and said sharply, "Then what about Henry Wen?" You have no misunderstandings between you two. But you have suffered so much since your childhood because of your mother. What do you think about that?"
"My problem is not same as yours." Jean looked at Moore as she was really disappointed with him.
Moore was the person who knew her the most. But he was comparing his problems to hers.
"Are you angry? Does your heart ache?" Moore looked at Jean's face and said sorrowfully, "You always try to persuade others. But, have you ever considered whether I need your persuasion or not? You know I don't like it when someone mentions his name in front of me yet you..." Moore paused, breathed deeply and continued, "Jean, I don't mean to hurt you. But I just don't want you to mention his name in front of me ever again, understood?"
Jean looked at his face and she suddenly felt guilty. "I'm sorry..."
The car shook violently followed by a loud burst before Jean could finish her words.
"Jean, be careful!" Moore shouted as he placed his hands on Jean's head and covered her body with his.
Jean felt pain in her chest but when she looked up, she saw blood all over Moore's body.
"Moore?" Jean was scared so she shouted out his name.
"I'm fine." Moore hummed as he tried to assure her that he was okay.
"But there is so much blood," said Jean. Her face was pale and full of horror.
She breathed deeply to hold back dizziness and kept herself calm.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Jean," Toby said as he felt really guilty. He was trying to get the car back to its position. "It's all my fault. I noticed someone was following us, but I didn't take it serious. They finally got the chance to hit us. Mrs. Jean, are you okay?" "I'm okay!" Jean finally understood what just happened. As soon as Moore opened his eyes, Jean was relieved.
She looked up and saw a white van had crashed into their car.
Jean's expression darkened as she saw the people in the van was severely hurt.
She opened the door angrily and rushed towards the van. There were four or maybe five people lying in the van covered in blood. They couldn't move. All of them were groaning in pain.
Jean laughed and grabbed one of them by the collar. "Who asked you to do so?"
Toby was calling the ambulance. When he saw what Jean was happening, he couldn't believe his eyes.
He soon walked towards Jean and said worriedly, "Mrs. Jean..."00☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
