Chapter 12

Leah’s heart went cold. She no longer expected him to stand up for her. The only thing she was sadabout was her current situation as she had no way to defend herself or prove anything. She felt like asoulless puppet stripped naked by Molly. Moreover, she was mocked and despised by many. Molly hadaccomplished her goal. She grinned and grabbed Han’s arm then walked away. It was like she wasgiving some kind of signal. Some of Molly’s good friends gathered around Leah and attacked her withvicious and hurtful words. “Know your place! What makes you think Ms. Lamere’s fiancé will fall foryou? You’re not worthy!” “Someone ought to slap you so you’ll wake up from your delusions.” “It’s notyour fault that you’re mentally ill, but it’s your fault that you’re here to ruin the occasion!” They forcedher into a corner. Leah’s back was against a large bookshelf. No one knew who pushed it, but aporcelain vase on the top toppled over. The vase hit Leah’s head. Leah was stunned. Then, bloodoozed out of her scalp. Scarlet blood splattered on her face, and Leah was extremely embarrassed. Not only did these ladies not feel guilty at all, they even showed a playful expression. “You’re alreadyugly, but now you look even uglier. I don’t think Mr. Howard has the appetite to eat after seeing it likethis.” Leah wiped her face with her hand and stared blankly at the blood on her palm. She murmuredsoftly, “You guys like to bully people so much.” The lady closest to her heard it and showed acontemptuous smile. “Yes, we like to bully ugly and self-conscious fools like you.” Leah raised her headslowly and her eyes were clouded. “You hurt me.” Several people disagreed with her. Soon, theystopped laughing when Leah took another red vase from the bookshelf. Her eyes were cold and hadthe intention of breaking it. “That was my last straw.” Leah threw the vase at them. Screams could beheard but it was far from over. She grabbed one of the women’s hair and pinned her onto the ground, then hit her from side to side. Leah was so furious that she dared to fight against three women. Soon, the commotion grabbed Molly and Han’s attention. The people were all stunned when they saw thehorrifying scene of Leah beating up someone. Someone shouted. “The lunatic is going to murdersomeone!” Han was going to step forward and put an end to this. However, before he could get anycloser, Leah looked up and glared at him with bloodlust while her face was smeared in blood. “Are yougoing to help me beat them up?” Han saw the bloodstains on Leah’s face. He was about to reprimand

her but he saw the sadistic grin on her mouth. He felt his heart was being pierced. He said nothing andstood there in silence. No one knew what he was thinking.
