Leah panicked when she saw Han make his way to the car without looking back. She pleaded, “I’mbegging you, please don’t leave me here. I can move to a faraway place. I swear never to appearbefore you ever again!” It was as though Leah’s words had sparked Han’s rage. “Take her away!” heyelled, frowning. Just as Leah was about to plead once more for mercy, the nurse hurriedly covered hermouth and prevented her from speaking. “Ahh…” Her cries were muted, and all she could do waswatch the man drive away without hesitation. The next moment, Leah felt a sharp pain in her neck andshe soon lost consciousness. When Leah next woke up, she found herself trapped in a ward. The painfrom the injection lingered, and she pressed on the sore spot to relieve it. She tried to pull the dooropen but it was locked. Hence, she tried to look out of the glass panel and saw a few nurses chattingmerrily outside. It was obvious that they had seen her but chose to ignore her. Leah tried to calmherself and sat quietly in a corner. When it was twelve noon, a nurse entered the ward to send herlunch. She grabbed the nurse’s hand and said, “I’m Han Howard’s wife. I want to see him.” The nursebroke free from Leah’s grip and replied in annoyance, “Who’re you kidding? Be mindful of your wordsor else Mr. Howard will sue you. You should be focusing on your treatment and try to get well instead.”Leah panicked when she saw that the nurse did not trust her words. She clutched her arm once moreand begged, “I’m not joking! I’m really Han Howard’s wife. You can get him here to prove my identity.”Feeling irritated by Leah’s persistent wishful thinking, the nurse shoved her aside and said, “Everyonein the country knows that Mr. Howard is single. Stop speaking ill of him! Did you even look at yourself inthe mirror? Why would Mr. Howard even fancy you? Since you refuse to have your meal, you canforget about dinner too!” The nurse left the ward and locked the door again. Leah was left standingalone in the room and she could feel nothing but terror. She walked to the window in despair andthought to herself, what… what’s happening? As Leah stared at her reflection in the mirror, she wasreminded of the nurse’s comments earlier. That’s right, why would Han marry a person like me? Shesat on the ground and hugged her knees with her arms. She did not move an inch for two days andrefused to consume any water or food. After two days of not eating or drinking, Leah’s face was aswhite as a sheet. The nurse looked into the ward to observe the frail woman before leaving to make aphone call. “Hi, Ms. Howard, the patient which Mr. Howard brought the day before refuses to eat and

drink. She claims that she’s Mr. Howard’s wife. If this continues, her condition will deteriorate. Shall wegive her the nutrient injection?” Shyanne sighed before replying, “She’s a staff at my brother’scompany. However, she’s so obsessed with him that it became harassment. She couldn’t accept therejection after professing her love. Sorry for causing you guys so much trouble.” The nurse replied,“You’re too kind, Ms. Howard. It’s our responsibility to watch over her.” After ending the call, Shyanneturned around and spotted a woman standing below a cherry blossom tree. The well-polished elegantlady with exquisite features was dressed in a yellow dress. She was decked in expensive jewels andthe most prominent item was the 7 million dollars red jadeite bracelet around her wrist. It was bought byHan earlier last month.
