Chapter 58
Rebecca and Cathy exchanged puzzled glances. “Are you alone?” Cathy asked suspiciously. Giselle nodded, “Yes.”
“Becky?” Cathy asked, raising an eyebrow.
Rebecca nodded, allowing Giselle to enter…
“Great!” exclaimed Giselle with a wide smile, revealing her large teeth. “The firm sent me to deliver this,” she said, handing over a white envelope.
Rebecca frowned as she took the envelope and opened it slowly. “What is it, Becky?” Cathy asked curiously. Rebecca read the paper and suddenly felt a sense of déjà vu. Everything seemed to be repeating, and it made her tremble.
“Becky?” Cathy snatched the paper from Rebecca’s hand and read it quickly. “What is this? Who instructed your firm to issue this letter?” she snapped, glaring at Giselle, who just stood there looking flustered.
“I’m just doing my job,” Giselle said nervously. “It’s just a divorce notice, why are you so shocked?”
Cathy shot Giselle a sharp look, wanting to yell in her face but refrained because she didn’t want to wake Lily, who was still asleep.
Rebecca took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. “What’s your name again?” she asked, looking at Giselle.
“Me? Giselle, Giselle Howard,” Giselle replied cheerfully.
“Take the divorce notice back. I will only accept and consider this notice valid if my husband delivers it to me personally,” Rebecca said firmly.
“But…”
“Mrs. Specter needs to rest, so please leave immediately,” Cathy interjected, handing the divorce notice back to Giselle, who accepted it in confusion.
Giselle hesitated but eventually nodded. “Alright, I’ll inform Mr. Specter of your request.” She gave a small bow before exiting the room, leaving Rebecca and Cathy in a heavy silence.

Chapter 58
Rebecca stared at the door, her mind racing. This can’t be happening,” she whispered, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes.
Cathy reached over and squeezed her hand. “We’ll figure this out, Becky. You’re not alone in this.”
Rebecca nodded, swallowing hard. “I just… I don’t understand why Harvey would do this. We were finally starting to rebuild our life together.”
Cathy sighed. “There’s got to be more to this. Maybe he’s under some pressure we don’t know about.”
Rebecca was startled. She stared at the ceiling, feeling something heavy pressing on her chest, making it difficult for her to breathe. She cried silently, letting her tears soak the pillow.
“You better get some rest. Just don’t think about it, okay? We’ll figure it out later,” Cathy said, deliberately stepping away from Rebecca because she knew she needed some space.
Rebecca closed her eyes. She kept crying silently until she finally fell asleep due to the painkillers she had taken before.
A few hours later.
“Hey…”
Rebecca slowly opened her eyes and turned toward the source of the voice. “Jacob?” she called out, unsure because her vision was a bit blurry due to low blood pressure.
“Yes, it’s me. Are you okay?” Jacob asked worriedly.
Rebecca blinked several times, and gradually her vision cleared. “Yeah, I’m just a little. dizzy. Where’s Lily?” she asked, suddenly feeling a strong longing for her daughter.
“The doctor advised Cathy and Olive to take her home. You know, she’s still very young, and hospitals are the most contaminated places,” Jacob said, as he took a glass of water from the nightstand and helped Rebecca drink.
“Cathy took Lily to her house? Or?”
Jacob nodded twice.

Rebecca panicked instantly. “What if Victoria kidnaps her? I need to secure Lily!” she exclaimed, trying to get up from her bed, but Jacob hurriedly restrained her by holding her shoulders. “Becky, please! Lily will be fine, no one is going to kidnap her, okay?”
“You don’t know what Victoria and Alicia are like, they-”
“I understand. Cathy has explained a bit of the situation to me, and I get your fear. So, I asked two of my cafe’s security guards to escort them to Cathy’s apartment and make sure they got inside safely, Jacob said calmly,
Rebecca’s shoulders relaxed. She laid her head back on the pillow and exhaled deeply. “Thank you,” she whispered, staring at the ceiling.
Jacob nodded. “No worries. Um, you missed your dinner, so I guess the food is no longer fresh and tasty. Do you want to cat something else? I can get it for you from the café downstairs, they’re open 24 hours,” he said, trying to lighten the mood.
Rebecca shook her head; she had no desire to eat. She just wanted to stare at the ceiling all the time. She even wished Jacob would go away because his presence reminded her. of Nicholas. She was afraid the same thing would happen again.
“Unfortunately, you have to eat, at least that’s what the doctor advised earlier,” Jacob said, shrugging.
Rebecca glanced at the nightstand. “Alright, can you get me that bread? I’ll just eat that,” she said flatly.
“I think I’ll be fine; you should go home and rest,” said Rebecca, stuffing the sweet bread into her mouth. She even refused Jacold attempt to feed her.
“I’m fine,” Jacob replied casually.
“You’ve been working all day, and it’s now two in the morning. Come on! I don’t want to trouble everyone,” Rebecca rambled. She didn’t want to get too close to any man again and repeat what happened with Nicholas.
“Becky, I know you’re scared, but believe me, I don’t have any bad intentions. I really just want to help, Jacob said patiently.
Rebecca almost choked on her bread. She was very surprised that Jacob seemed to read her mind. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.
Jacob shook his head. “Don’t be sorry. It’s natural for you to feel that way. You’ve been

through a lot.” He reached out and gently stroked Rebecca’s hand. At that moment, the door opened. Rebecca and Jacob turned simultaneously and saw Harvey standing there, looking at them with an expression hard to decipher.
“HARVEY!” Rebecca exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with hope.
Harvey stepped closer. “I just wanted to deliver this,” he said, placing a white envelope at the foot of Rebecca’s bed.
Rebecca’s heart felt like it dropped to her stomach. She hadn’t expected the nightmare to repeat itself.
