Bitten -
Chapter 18
Chatter.
Do people ever stop talking?
People pass us left and right.
All of them have something to say.
Do you know who are the ones that do not talk?
The dead.
Mason and I walk home. There are so many feelings running through me. I want to punch something, sink my teeth into someone, and run. Run as fast and as far as possible.
“Abigail,” Mason stops in front of me and I stare at him.
He flinches back a bit with the intensity of my stare.
“I’m going to pick up Hannah and then grab some takeout is that fine with you?”
I can hardly speak as I feel all my emotions build up so I nod. My hand goes to my pocket and pulls out a twenty and then presses it against his chest.
His hand goes up and tries to grab my hand but I’m too fast when his hand gets to his chest all it gets it’s a crumpled up twenty.
The look of surprise on his face doesn’t stop me I turn around as my fangs protrude, “I have some errands to do see you at the apartment.”
I walk away and I can hear his breath hitch and he takes a step towards me but stops. I increase my speed until I turn into an empty alleyway. My eyes give a quick scan of the area, no ones here.
With that I let my instincts take over. I run, run heading to god knows where my mind is doing all the work. My feet stop moving and my top half jolts forward but before my mind can register it my feet are planted firmly on the ground and I am standing in front of Wes’ place.
My emotions boil over and I slide the entrance door wide open the harsh light breaking through the dark inside.
Wes is sitting at a small table reading a huge manuscript when his eyes fly to me and he is on his feet quick and agile assessing the intrusion.
The anger in his eyes is quickly replaced with surprise and curiosity.
“What the hell Abigail?”
I stride over to him he watches me like a hawk, his eyes never leaving me.
What I do next surprises both of us.
My hands grip his hair fisting it and I pull him closer to me his rapid hot breath brushes on my lips and I pull him down towards me.
His lips and body mold into mine. His arms wrap around my waist and he pulls me closer to him.
He shoves me against the closest wall. My back presses hard against the wall that I have wouldn’t be surprised if there would be a crack.
My breathing is coming in shallow and my chest beats against his. His hand leisurely moves from my waist down to my butt, where his hand tightens grabbing as much of it as possible.
My moan makes him smile against my lips. His muscular hand keeps trailing down as he grabs ahold of my thigh and pushes it up to his hip keeping it in place. He moans into my mouth and his tongue skims my lower lip asking permission to explore.
My lips part and his tongue dips into my mouth and my tongue runs over his teeth I feel his fangs. They are out as mine has been since I left Mason.
I pull away from Wes but he is not letting me run away. His mouth explores more moving down to my neck.
“Stop,” I whisper.
“Why?” he mumbles against my skin as my head rolls to my shoulder.
His teeth skim my neck and my body trembles in his capable hands.
“Because — ” My mind draws up a blank.
Why do I want him to stop?
His lips caress my neck as they go back up and he lightly kisses my lips. Then he presses them hard against mine full of hunger.
Our kiss becomes a fight for dominance. Wes wants me to follow his lead and at the moment my body is letting him but my anger towards Lindsey is growing and it’s fueling my aggression.
My hands run through Wes’ back and he hisses against my lips allowing me to capture his bottom lip with my teeth.
He still has my thigh press against his hip so I wrap my other leg around him and his hands fly to my butt holding me in place.
He gasps as I grind my hips against him and then push myself forward. His mind is fully concentrated on me that his body does not have time to react.
He falls back on the concrete floor and it seems as if he landed on a mattress it doesn’t bother him. His hands go to my back keeping press against him.
I feel defiant at the moment and push myself away from him. There is a wicked gleam in his eyes and a mischievous grin playing on his lips.
Wes forcefully rolls over with me still on top of him pinning me to the ground with his body, my legs still wrapped around him. His lips back on mine but his hand travel to the back of my neck tilting my head back making our kiss deeper. His other hand travels down to the hem of my shirt and he lifts it revealing my navel his hand skims my newly expose skin and a shiver runs through me. My hips push up and he smiles at me.
It feels as if I am having an out of my body experience looking at myself do something I wouldn’t normally do.
Abigail, pull yourself together.
His lips leave mine and travel to my ear.
“You like that,” his raspy hoarse voice echoes in my ear.
With a gasp of air, my lungs fill and my old self-comes crashing down. A menacing hiss pushes past my lips and my hands go to Wes’ chest shoving him off of me.
"No!”
Wes is off of me and I jolt to a stand. My hands go to the hem of my shirt and pull it down forcefully.
“Then what the hell was that?” Wes stands far away from me stiffly. Anger is blazing in his eyes.
“I don’t know,” I run my fingers through my hair looking around his place as if the answer may be lying around here somewhere. “One second I’m at work fine and then Lindsey wants to take out Mason. I just wanted to rip her head off and Mason...Mason didn’t say no. My body was in haywire so I ran until I was here. And well you know the rest.” I say exasperated.
Wes’s eyebrows furrow and his lips set in a stern frown.
“So you used me to relieve some of your sexual frustration.” He releases his breath. “You’re a new vampire-like I said before everything is heightening even your emotions. Your mind knows what you’re doing but your body wants a release. Your mind didn’t want to hurt Mason so your body came to someone who could handle your aggression also known as another vampire.”
“I didn’t hurt you!” I snap.
Wes nods and lifts his shirt revealing the gashes on his back.
An involuntary swallow goes down my throat and I stare at the red marks on his back.
I did that.
“Don’t worry it will heal.”
“Why didn’t you stop me?”
“I can handle it. My skin is tougher and we heal faster than humans. So in a way it is good you came to my door because if it were Mason you wouldn’t be having this conversation or any conversation at all.”
“Oh god!”
“And your fangs were out the whole time.”
“They’ve been out since I left work. Yours are out too.” I snap at him.
“Were out, they’re not anymore. Yours are still out.” He stares at my mouth.
“I just want to sink my teeth into something,” I pause for a second, “well more like Lindsey’s neck.”
His eyes shift as the gears in his head start moving.
“You’re jealous! That girl is going after what you want. I’m surprised you didn’t bite me.” He smirks at me.
I want to beat his ass but he is the one helping me all of these ‘changes’. My hands rub my temples.
“Why would you think that? Biting you not the Lindsey crap?” My body sags.
“Because you don’t feed the same as us,” a voice says from the far corner of the building and my eyes dart towards him.
“What the fu — ” I hiss as Vincent tsks at me and shakes his head.
“Where are your manners? Act like a lady,” he says calmly and his eyes go down to his hand as he examines it for who knows what.
“Why didn’t you tell me he was here?” I growl at Wes who is smiling hugely at me.
“I was attacked and lost my train of thought.”
“Playtime is over we should get back to work,” Vincent claps and walks over to the manuscript that Wes was looking at earlier.
“There’s nothing there.” Vincent slams the book shut and hisses.
“We fighting in the dark Wes we need to get more help.” Vincent paces in front of us.
“What’s going on?” I look at Wes and he shifts uncomfortably.
“Nothing for you to worry about at the moment. Go home Abigail I’ll talk to you later.”
I sigh and stare at him I would have grilled him but with our earlier encounter and the unsuspected audience I just want to head home.
“Fine.” I walk out of the building sliding the door shut.
“You need to stop babying her,” Vincent says knowing full well I can hear him.
“You’re just pissed it wasn’t you!” Wes retorts.
“Maybe, it’s been a while since I’ve had a fling,” I can almost hear his smile on his face.
Oh god.
I run away from there as fast as I can.
What the hell is wrong with me?
My body is not exhausted but my mind is all over the place.
I should make Wes and Vincent tell me what they are looking up. But all I really want to do is take a hot shower.
