Chariot 3: Conception
Chapter 31 – Nested

“Reaching the singularity in 7 seconds.” Sissy kept them updated whilst a silent countdown was displayed on the right corner of their eyes. V-Nus and Shoffer`s attention was fulfilled by the phenomenon in front.

As the time elapsed, they both wondered if the singularity would cause another failure on the ship`s propulsion systems. In his mind, Shoffer planned using the two remaining heli-rings to abandon the ship should things come to worse. V-Nus learnt his plan and simply hoped for the best. Sissy worried how she was not part f that plan but preferred to remain quiet, for an extraordinary change.

There were just a few seconds separating them from immersing themselves into the unknown one more time when the unforeseen took place. For the group`s misfortune, Flumen`s pessimism proved to be reasonable once again.

Cai Yiu raised his hand and pointed towards the translucent, almost imperceptible “thing” as he described it.

With his visual perception increased by the cutting-edge lenses, Cai Yiu was the first one to notice the thin pellicle resembling a gigantic translucent curtain, separating them from the black hole.

“Is it some sort of natural phenomenon, stardust or perhaps remaining debris from a spaceship?” His words came out fast as V-Nus hoped to have answers sooner, rather than later.

The natural luminosity emanated by the Moon sparkled on the surface of the unidentified object which at that instant appeared to be much more solid than the dust left by dead stars or any other sort of debris that their imagination could think of.

As Chariot 3 rapidly performed a final approach trying to escape from the Greys behind them, the translucent material gradually started to become visible turning into a black colored dull object with the same likeness of the space surrounding them.

Everything became obvious. What they were looking at was far from a mere optical illusion caused by a natural phenomenon, something far more advanced than anything they had ever seen, and way beyond any stealth technology they had ever heard of.

The image that emerged in front of their eyes was of a mothership, a massive and incredibly advanced mothership.

Once visible, the spaceship did not reflect any luminosity neither had any light emanating from it. It was primarily the untainted personification of shadows built into metal.

The two pilots onboard Chariot 3 had become understandably unresponsive. There was no chance to stop, turn right, left, go up or down. There did not seem to be a possible direction to take without crashing on the immensity of engineering in front of them. It was so big that the crew of Chariot 3 did not even have the chance to see it on its entirety, but a mere part of what they hoped to be most of it.

There was absolutely no time, and yet, there seemed to be more time than hope.

The crash was imminent.

But not for Chariot 3. Defying the laws of physics she had been conceived with, Chariot 3 abruptly decelerated, lifted her nose ninety degrees, and at the same time, rotated her body upside down.

The Nibirian spaceship then recovered the speed and continued the unstoppable chase, now hovering the colossal mothership towards its top, by-passing its dangerously uneven structure at an incredibly close proximity.

At that point, the crew onboard the glorious chariot had no longer control of its maneuverability, Chariot 3 had assumed total control of her navigational systems.

At the distance, the scene of the insignificantly small disc hovering amongst the immensity of the black mothership was seen by the Grey scouters who rapidly approached them, getting closer and closer to their objective.

With their bodies being filled with an overwhelming adrenaline, yet the four occupants could not process rapidly enough all the variables that took place during the interminable seconds that elapsed slower than ever.

They crew looked up and through the portholes above, saw how close they were from scratching the so far untouched enemy vessel.

Soon enough, Chariot 3 enabled the transparency above them. At that moment, they could almost feel the two ships nearly touching each other, to the point that they finally did it.

The horrifying noise of Chariot 3`s metagraphene body retwisting above their heads could not be avoided for a few feet, until they finally managed to set just a few inches apart from each other.

Whilst the others looked back down to what would come next, Flumen stared at the deformity caused to the deckhead of Chariot 3.

As if Chariot 3 comprehended Flumen`s shocked expression as he stared at her deformed structure or perhaps by a strangely timed coincidence, the top of the spacedisc started to reshape into its original condition, making a crunching metallic noise as it contorted.

Impressed, Flumen observed the metal soften, allegedly moving by itself, resembling a thin aluminum foil until it ended with its initial form without leaving the slightest imperfection.

Shoffer looked back and saw the Grey scouters still on pursuit, implacable.

Ahead of them, the Captain and his pilot noticed what appeared to be a salience within the mega structure of the enemy ship.

Chariot 3 then performed a rather efficient maneuver, miraculously avoiding the impact.

Far from reaching the ending edge of the ship, Shoffer noticed the surface ahead about to become dramatically irregularwith saliences and other dangerous obstacles extended from its surface.

The Grey technology was lethal by pure design.

Controlled by Sissy, the deck under their feet suddenly became transparent, and as the Nibirians looked down, they realized that the first Grey scouters had finally reached them.

The enemy craft was strategically positioned underneath the Nibirian ship, corralling them against the mothership wall above their heads.

Chariot 3 proficiently moved to the sides dodging the various obstacleson her way. Round, square and long pointed saliences stood out of the mothership, composing a labyrinth-looking course where the only end most pilots would ever reach was their own.

In a miserable move, the craft underneath Chariot 3 started to push the Nibirian ship against the mothership.

Chariot 3 hit once, twice, three times the mothership. The Nibirian ship`s fuselage started to present the deformities on the top of its body.

Persistent, the pilot flying under Chariot 3 gained distance from them, in preparation for a final stroke. The enemy craft then performed a violent attack with a much more furious push, forcefully throwing Chariot 3 against the deadly mothership.

Doomed, the crew onboard the Nibirian ship anticipated their end, as they sighted a salient wall dramatically standing out of the dark structure. The impact was inevitable and their death mostly certain.

As Chariot 3 absorbed the overwhelming impact, she was dramatically pushed against the huge wall. The crew closed their eyes and waited for the worst.

Just before the impact, Chariot 3 was miraculously thrown into a gap which unexpectedly led them into the interiors of the mothership.

C0nfused, the crew opened their eyes just before feeling the radiance of the Grey scouter exploding against the wall where theirs destinies no longer laid at.

V-Nus was the first one to express his impression of the ship, fascinated with its size. “This is longer than a Martian tube”, he quoted one of his typical Martian sayings.

“We are...we are…where are we? What happened” Flumen tried to understand.

“We are…”Shoffer paused, reluctant in answering that question.

“…inside their nest.” V-Nus finished his phrase.
