Not much longer after the Nibirians performed their majestic escape, a classified committee of twelve men formed by scientists, military leaders, and government officials under an executive order from the United States President, met in a poorly illuminated room somewhere in an American base.

“Gentlemen, what are we gonna do now?” The man who appeared to be the leader of the group enquired.

“Well, the Nibirians caused us no harm. Instead, they left us with their entire tech as they promised.”

“Uh, almost all. If you didn`t let them fly away right under your nose.” The man quickly replied in a sarcastic tone.

“Can we trust them?” Another official enquired.

“I rather trust them, than the ugly little Grey guy next door.” Somebody else in the group opined.

“What we know about the little one anyway?”

The silence took place after the rather reasonable question.

“Not much, I`m afraid…” The military officer replied “…except that he seems to be willing to help, and he has been answering all our questions.”

“What about the deal he offered us?” One of the government officials enquired.

“We should proceed with care. He is far different than us after all. We should learn as much as we can from him before accepting any deal.” One of the elderly military officers was quick on replying. The various medals attached to his uniform seemed to give him the sound of reasoning.

“What about the Nibirians? Do we all agree to join their agency?”

“I`d say so. Raise your hand if you all agree.”

The response was almost unanimous. Almost all hands were raised all together, except by the last few hesitating ones that had to look to those next to them before raising their hands.

“Nibirian Space Agency, uhm. I think it will sound a bit way farfetched for those paying the bills.” Someone pointed out.

“What about the tax payers?”

“The public!?” Someone else asked while giving a sarcastic laugh. “They don`t need to know!” He added.

“We can just call it N.S.A.”

“What we gonna say when people ask what it stands for? One of them sounded concerned.

“What about National Security Agency? This is a matter of National Security after all.”

“Fine! Gentlemen, I believe we are all in agreement.” The silence took place after the leader made the final decision.

“Will the President sign it?” One of the officers enquired.

“Don`t worry, we’ll take care of the President. You can take care of digging your new base. Have you found a location yet?” The man in the black suit standing in one of the corners replied.

“Don`t worry, we already found a great location for it. Our ‘newest’ friends even gave us an idea for a name.”

The first secret meeting of many others to come ended with agreements that would, soon, change the history of human kind.

Somewhere in space, far away from Earth.

“Grand Leader Grumack…” The tiny being slowly approached his ultimate superior, ensuring to address him by his full title, although it was all done through his thoughts, the Grey way of communicating.

“Yes.” He replied while staring at the magnified image of a blue planet through the window of his new mothership, far beyond a naked eye would ever see it.

“Proceed, I said.” He ordered, noticing his servant`s eyes were lost within the beauty of the planet. The bubble attached to the window zoomed out from its subject, letting millions of stars transcend through its watery looking surface until the cosmos reached its normal scale and nothing other than a group of stars laying sight could be seen.

The little creature turned his neck back to the Leader without daring to look into his eyes, and started to broadcast the, in his opinion, unfortunate news he brought with him. “I am afraid the Nibirians managed to hand their technology to the Earthians. They completed their mission.” The creature paused, hesitant.

“And so did we.” The Grand Leader replied with a strange tone in his thoughts.

“We also lost an entire squadron…they failed their mission.” The creature added.

The slightly taller figure of the Grand Leader approached him closely and looked down towards the insignificant Grey that stood in front of him. “An entire squadron?” He enquired.

The creature felt the heavy presence of Grand Leader Grumack looking right inside his mind. He probably did not even have to start that conversation. His simple presence in that very same room would have provided the Grand Leader with all the information he could possibly carry.

“Except by one pilot.” The creature corrected himself. “Co-pilot, I mean…he was captured by the Earthians.” He corrected himself emphasizing on the deranked member.

“As I said. We completed our mission. The Co-Pilot is precisely where he was meant to be.” Grumack turned his back to the messenger and slowly walked back to the circular window.

The creature slightly lifted his head as he tried to digest the true meaning of those words, and walked backwards towards the same door he had come from, without daring to ask any more questions.

Grumack fixed his eyes back on the bubble that covered his window. The reflection of the stars rapidly scrolled over his dark eyes at the pace his view was zoomed in once again.

“This is just the beginning.” Thought the Grand Leader.
