Chapter 455:

Wesley scoffed, “Exactly. Huh, both of these two are unbelievable.” His hatred for both Susan and Madisyn ran deep. In his eyes, they were nothing but troublemakers, far from being decent people. The influential figures and elites in the room had completely lost any positive opinion they once held about Susan.

“Susan is downright ruthless. Why are the Johns and Klein treating her so well?”

“It’s all because of Madisyn. Weren’t she and Susan close friends once upon a time?”

Isabella sneered in disgust, “Susan, you’re beyond shameless. You used your friendship with Madisyn to get close to Andrew and Dane, and now you have the nerve to betray her. You owe Madisyn and everyone else here an apology.”

“Isabella, you really need to relax. You can’t keep jumping to conclusions and letting yourself get misled,” Madisyn replied calmly. Isabella furrowed her brow in confusion. Wasn’t she trying to help Madisyn?

“The staff member already confessed. It was Susan’s doing,” Isabella insisted.

Ignoring Isabella, Madisyn turned her attention to the staff member. “You mentioned that Susan handed you the box and gave you money. So, where’s the money?”

“I haven’t received it yet, but she promised me one hundred thousand,” the staff member said.

A hundred thousand was no small sum, and everyone in the room seemed to acknowledge that.

“I didn’t do it. Why are you framing me like this?” Susan cried, tears welling up in her eyes.

Dane, his face stern and unyielding, responded icily, “I suggest you come clean and tell the truth.”

The staff member, visibly shaken by Dane’s cold glare, stammered, “B-but that is the…”

Jada turned to Susan and said, “Susan, the staff member has already confessed. You might as well come clean too. Are you seriously going to let her take the fall for everything?”

Jada’s words painted Susan as utterly ruthless in the eyes of everyone present. At least, that was how it seemed to everyone watching. Fighting back her tears, Susan exclaimed, “If none of you believe me, go ahead and set a professional to read our lips so you can know what we were talking about.” That was something no one had seen coming.

Wesley, out of the blue, chimed in, “Hey Jada, isn’t lip reading one of your skills? You are part of the Qiviut Organization, after all. Why don’t you go ahead and see what they were saying?”

Jada was caught off guard by Wesley’s sudden suggestion. But the moment Wesley finished speaking, eyes turned to Jada, filled with admiration and respect.

“Wait, Jada is part of the Qiviut Organization?” someone whispered in surprise.

“The Qiviut Organization is no joke. My cousin tried to get in, but they turned him down,” another voice added. “No wonder Jada’s so famous around Ansport. She really is incredible,” someone else remarked with admiration.

Jada had no interest in reading Susan’s and the staff member’s lips, but with everyone looking up to her, she felt compelled to say, “Alright, I’ll give it a try, though lip reading isn’t exactly my specialty.”

Wesley grinned, clearly impressed. “You’re always so modest, Jada. You say you can’t do it, but then you nail it every time.”

Jada had no choice but to start analyzing the surveillance footage. The movements of both Susan’s and the staff member’s lips were clearly visible on the video. The entire room fell silent.

“Alright, I’ve mostly figured it out,” Jada said a little awkwardly. “The staff member asked Susan what was in the box, and Susan told her to present it as Madisyn’s auction item. She even promised to pay her a hundred thousand afterward.”

Upon hearing this, the staff member, looking deeply wronged, exclaimed, “I honestly believed it was Madisyn’s idea! I had no clue Susan was setting her up. I swear I didn’t know!”

“If what she’s saying is true, then how does Susan still have the nerve to act innocent? She’s disgusting!” someone said angrily.

“Exactly! I agree. The charity auction should blacklist her right now. My company and my friend’s company will never do business with Susan again.”

“If Susan becomes the head of the Riggs Group, I’ll blacklist the entire company,” another person added. Jada’s eyes held a trace of sadness, but deep down, her heart was filled with joy. At long last, she had secured a victory that felt undeniably sweet. Did Susan honestly believe that things would go smoothly for her just because she had stepped away from the Riggs Group? She would never be free of the Riggs Group. It rightfully belonged to her. Once this situation became public, their father would never dream of handing the company to Susan. Meanwhile, Madisyn and Susan’s friendship would officially come to an end. Everything was unfolding just the way she had hoped. Jada had to put in effort to keep herself from bursting into laughter.

“I really don’t think that’s the case,” a sudden voice broke through the discussions.

All eyes turned toward the source of the voice, and there stood Jared.

With a raised brow, he asked, “Jada, are you absolutely certain you’re reporting what they actually said?”

“Mr. Cooper, I’m not a professional at this. I can only make out the general idea of what was said,” she replied.

Jared nodded and responded, “You’re right; you’re definitely not a professional.”

Jada couldn’t help but feel a bit puzzled by Jared’s sudden involvement. Someone in the crowd remarked, “Isn’t Cooper also part of the Qiviut Organization? Does that mean he can read lips too?”

“I’ve taken an interest in it and studied it a bit. But to avoid giving you any wrong information, I’ll have my friend handle it.” Without missing a beat, Jared made a video call.

A figure appeared on the phone screen. Those familiar with him couldn’t contain their excitement when they recognized him.

“That’s Jensen Kinney—the best lip reader in the entire county!”

“Mr. Cooper certainly has influential friends.”

Jared then angled the screen toward the surveillance footage and requested, “Could you play it again so my friend can take a look at what they actually said?”
