Chapter 526:

“Check online! Someone has already exposed it! No wonder the YM Club won the championship this time—they were using performance-enhancing drugs!” A voice erupted, slicing through the tension.

Everyone fumbled for their phones, eager to confirm the shocking claim. Their faces glowed as they tapped away, revealing headlines that screamed out at them: “YM Club Using Performance-Enhancing Drugs” and “YM Club Cheated to Claim First Place.” A few clicks later, a viral video appeared, drawing them in.

In the video, Waylon from the YM Club was seen casually drinking from a cup. Just before he took a sip, he appeared to mix something into the water, then set the cup down without a second thought. Moments later, a staff member collected the water for testing, and the results came back positive for stimulants.

Waylon’s expression darkened as he quickly scrolled through his phone. Fury boiled within him. “This is absurd! I only added some lemon mix! Am I not allowed to enjoy a simple glass of lemon water?”

Wesley leaned back, arms crossed, a smirk playing on his lips. “Oh really? Then why did the test come back with stimulants? You YM Club folks will do anything for a win. You’re a disgrace to the racing world!”

“That’s ridiculous! What kind of nonsense is that? Sure, stimulants might help in some sports, but in racing, they would throw off our focus completely. Everyone knows that, right?” The captain of the YM Club stepped forward, addressing the crowd, hoping to replace a sympathetic voice among them.

A thick silence enveloped the crowd. It was indeed true, but the evidence stood before them, clear and undeniable. Besides, if the YM Club were disqualified, the entire ranking would shift, opening doors for their competitors.

Though some sensed that the YM Club was being unfairly targeted, the words stayed locked in their throats. The captain of the YM Club surveyed the still faces around him, a chill creeping into his chest, leaving him deeply troubled. When had the racing world turned so sour? Could people truly overlook the truth just to climb higher in the standings?

Wesley had seen this coming. “Who’s to say you didn’t use something to keep yourself calm? No one can really know for sure. The fact is, you’ve taken banned substances. According to the rules, your ranking should be thrown out, and you should be banned from racing for life!”

The captain of the YM Club raised his fist, radiating anger. Waylon shot back, “I didn’t take any banned substances! I can prove it with a test!”

“Alright, we’ll wait for the award ceremony,” the host said, his voice firm, cutting through the tension.

Waylon was led away for testing, anxiety tightening in his chest. Madisyn furrowed her brow, unease settling in her stomach. This clearly felt like a smear campaign, but would the HB Club let them prove their innocence?

Half an hour later, Waylon returned. The host stood ready, a sealed envelope clutched tightly in his hand. “The test results are in,” the host declared, his tone serious yet filled with anticipation. “Let’s replace out what they say!”

With a quick flick, the host tore open the envelope, his eyes widening in disbelief. “Waylon’s blood shows excessive amounts of banned substances,” he blurted out, and the atmosphere ignited with shock. “Did he really use stimulants?”

“This is outrageous! He must be disqualified and blacklisted!” Those who had believed in the YM Club now felt only disappointment.

Waylon, momentarily stunned, felt the rage boil over within him. “You guys bribed the doctor!” he shouted, his voice shaking with anger.

Wesley shrugged nonchalantly, a smirk on his face. “We didn’t do anything. Don’t make wild accusations, or I might just have to sue you!”

The YM Club members were boiling with rage, their expressions a mix of disbelief and fury. They had always known the HB Club played dirty, but this level of trickery was shocking. “I want a retest at a different facility!” Waylon yelled, his voice slicing through the air.

“Don’t bother. No matter where you go, the result will still be the same—you used stimulants!” Wesley shot back, a smug grin on his face.

Madisyn stepped forward, her voice steady. “He didn’t need stimulants! Everyone saw the way Andrew and I performed—no matter how badly he performed, we’d still take home first place!”

Wesley scoffed, rolling his eyes. “You’re all so full of yourselves. Anything can happen in a race. Who can predict the winner before it’s over? Stop talking nonsense. According to the rules, you should be disqualified and banned from racing for good!” He leaned forward, eagerly awaiting the organizers to reveal the results.

Mercer stood below the stage, a gleam of triumph in his eyes. No matter how talented the YM Club members were, he was determined to secure his team’s victory. Meanwhile, Hamlin shook with anger, shocked by how chaotic the racing scene had become.

“Are you all crazy? Can’t you see what’s happening?” Hamlin shouted, his voice filled with urgency. “If you stay quiet today, tomorrow you could be the ones facing this. Why do we train so hard? Sure, for rankings, but more importantly, for fair rankings! If word gets out about today’s events, how will the world see our racing community? You can practice as much as you want, but one comment from someone else could mean losing your ranking—or worse, getting banned from racing altogether. Is that what you want?”
