Lacey's P.O.V.

"Sir, ma'am, we've arrived"

Our driver says to us.

"Is the security ready?"

"Yes, sir, they're waiting outside for you, Mrs Black and the Black heirs as per your request" "Great"

Logan says and I feel his body instantly relax next to mine but I was confused.

"Security? what security?"

I ask Logan who looks down at me and smiles.

"I hired some extra security for us for while we're here"

"Why?"

"Because I don't want my family being bothered by anyone, especially the media, it's also my job as the head of this family to make sure my wife and kids are safe at all times" Logan says and I smile.

"You're insane, my love"

I say and he smirks at me.

"If being insane means my family are safe and protected then I'm the most insane motherfucker you'll ever meet, baby"

Logan says with a growl before kissing my lips in a slightly aggressive and possessive way.

He then tells me to wait here as he gets out of the limousine.

The door was opened slightly and I could hear a bunch of people screaming Logan's name, most of whom sounded like screaming girls.

I also heard Logan telling his head of security to make sure there were two men on each side of our kids and two men on either side of him and I, he also wanted a wall of security on either side of us to block us from the media and his fans. Jesus Christ.

You'd think he was the president of the United States the way he's acting.

After about a minute or two, Logan helped me out of the limousine and our kids stepped out after me.

I immediately noticed Dayton and Teddy were ok with the atmosphere but Logan Junior was uncomfortable.

"Are you ok, baby?"

"I'm fine"

He says sternly but I knew he wasn't.

I turned to face Logan who must've known what I was going to ask him because he immediately had eight security guards flank either side of us and the kids while the rest of the security guards blocked us from the screaming fans and media who were trying to replace out who I and the kids were.

There was even one reporter who asked Logan a question which pissed me off and sparked the jealous fire deep inside of me.Some paragraphs are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Ebookex.com. The gutsy reporter asked sparking off the rest of the media who started asking similar questions about Logan and GiGi.

I sighed in annoyance while my husband groaned in frustration next to me.

"Ignore them, baby, they always ask stupid questions"

"It's ok, Logan, you're just friends, right?"

I asked with a smile but it wasn't sincere.

I think Logan forgets that I've been in this world for a long time, therefore I've met many women who are golddiggers and would kill their own grandmothers to land themself a millionaire or a billionaire.

There was actually a girl who I went to school with who happily gave up everything at eighteen to be a mistress for an actor in his fifties who offered to pay for everything including giving her a lavish lifestyle and all she had to do was please him and stroke his ego. This is why I've got such a negative opinion of GiGi, it's not just because she's after Logan and is fueling all of the stupid rumours made by the media that they're in a relationship and they're getting married, it's because I know her and I know what she's like. I also know what she'd do to nab herself a man like Logan and I'll be damned if I'll let her take my man away from me.

We headed inside of the hotel which has been decorated beautifully for Christmas.

There were two huge, beautifully decorated trees which were so big they went all the way up to the ceiling and the staircase was decorated with a stunning red, green and gold garland.

There was also a mahogany fireplace with stockings hanging from it, as well as a garland which was similar to the one on the staircase and some antique ornaments on top of it next to a small grandfather clock.

Next to this was a small booth which is where we went to check our coats and we thanked the event staff with a smile.

"Come on, love"

Logan places his hand on my lower back and I take a deep breath in and slowly release it as we walk towards the grand hall which is where the main party is being held.

A slight gasp left my mouth when we walked. decorated it is grand hall and I not only saw how crow the place was but now beautifully I shouldn't be surprised at how beautiful this place looks because my grandparents are known for their parties and the exquisite decor at each one but I always replace myself surprised when I attend one of their parties.

"Lambchop darling, you're here".

My gramps greeted me rather loudly earning glances from some of the partygoers who were looking at us confused.

"Hey, gramps"

I greeted my grandfather back with a smile as he embraced me in a hug.

When he pulled away from me, my grams wasted no time in hugging me as well.

"You look stunning, my girl"

She whispered in my ear before pulling away and gently cupping my face.

"And you're glowing, lambchop...I see Logan is performing his husband duties very well"

My grams says with a wink and I roll my eyes.

"Grams, I swear to god, you need to learn to whisper things like that"

"Why? s*x is perfectly normal, Lacey"

She says with a smirk.

"What's s*x?"

My precious daughter asks and I narrow my eyes to my grandmother who was looking at Teddy with a shocked expression..

My grams tried to explain the subject to my child in the best and easiest way possible but I think she's forgotten my children are incredibly smart and using the old s*x is something beautiful between two people who love each other isn't going to work on them.. "s*x is a beautiful thing between two loving people, Teddy Bear"

"Yeah, I know that but what is it?"

Teddy asks and I had to suppress a chuckle when I saw Teddy's cute inquisitive face and my grandmother's freaked out expression.

"I...erm.......huh, what did you say? oh yes, I'll be right there, sorry children I've gotta dash"

My grams said as she faked hearing someone shouting for her before making her escape from the uncomfortable situation.. "You're such a chicken, Bunny"

My grandfather laughed along with the rest of us.

"Mummy, I think grandma Bunny has been drinking her special juice again, she's acting weird"

"No that's just Bunny for you, princess"

I said while rubbing my forehead earning louder chuckles from my husband and grandfather.

"Mum, can we get a drink, please? I'm thirsty".

"Of course we can, son"

Logan, the kids and I head towards the bar to get ourselves a drink while my grandfather goes to assist my grandmother with something.

I guess she really did replace something or someone who needed her help.

"Are you ok, my love?"

Logan asks me and I look over at him with a smile.

"I'm fine"

"You're not still stressing over GiGi, are you? she really is just a friend, babe"

"Trust me, Logan, I've got bigger things to worry about than her"

I say whilst rolling my eyes.

"But you admit you were jealous, right?"

I look over at Logan who was smirking as he sipped on his bourbon.

"Of course I'm jealous Logan...men aren't the only beings who can get possessive over what's theirs, love, women can get very territorial as well"

"I know, baby, I'm just glad that you admitted to feeling jealous"

Logan says as he leans in and pecks my lips.

"Well, I wouldn't be normal if I didn't feel jealous, babe"

"That's true"

I take a sip of my champagne as I take a look around expecting to see some familiar faces but I don't see anyone that I recognise except for my grandparents. "I don't think anyone is here yet"

I say nervously.

"That's a good thing, love because it gives you a chance to relax and calm yourself down before meeting the family again"

"I'd rather just get it over and done with, Logan"

"I know you would, love"

Logan says as he kisses my temple.

After finishing off my champagne, I dismissed myself from my little family and headed towards the lady's room to relieve myself.

I don't know if it's nerves or all of the water, coffee and now champagne I've been drinking but I'm peeing more than normal today. When I was done, I washed and dried my hands before looking at myself in the mirror.

On the outside, I looked like a strong, confident woman but on the inside, I was freaking out and panicking.

I take several deep breaths in and out before leaving the bathroom to go back to my family but I ended up bumping into a little girl as I did.

I looked down at the beautiful blonde-haired girl who looked so familiar to me but I couldn't put my finger on where I knew her from.

"Hi there, are you ok?"

I ask and she nods her head.

"You're very pretty"

She says with a smile.

"Thank you"

I say while reciprocating her smile as I crouch down in front of her and take in her features.

Why does she look so familiar to me?.

"My name's Lacey, what's yours?"

I ask and she gasps.

"That's my name as well...well, it's my second name"

"Really? and what's your first name?"

I ask with a slight chuckle.

She's so adorable.

"Melissa, my full name is Melissa Lacey Carpenter-Tate"

She says shocking me.

Oh my god.

This is Luca and Dylan's daughter, this is my niece.

"Lacey"

I heard a familiar voice coming from behind me which almost stopped my heart from beating for a second..

I stand up and slowly turned around until I came face to face with the ghost of Christmas past.

"Dylan"
