My mom used to tell me as you get older you get wiser but I didn't know you also lose brain cells as well and you also become dumber and more docile.

When I arrived at work this morning, I was already in a bad mood thanks to GiGi, albeit I wasn't as angry as I previously was thanks to my Lacey calming me down and relaxing me but I was still angry and my anger was made even worse when I arrived at Black Enterprises and I attended yet another boring board meeting with the board of directors.

I thought after our last meeting and with Lacey and I getting everything out in the open a couple of days ago that everyone would learn to take what GiGi f*****g.

Addams says with a pinch of salt but nope and I once again had to defend my wife and kids to a bunch of grown a's men who have got more degrees than a thermometer yet they're dumb when it comes to a lying skank like GiGi.

The latest drama with the demon seed is that she called every single member of my board which includes my father and my brother Ryker and she told them all that I faked my children's DNA to show that I'm the father when according to her, I'm not and I did this by paying off the person who performed the test and I offered to donate a huge sum of money to the lab if they did me this favour.

What makes this lie so freaking laughable is that one of my board members Edward Johnson is the founder, owner and former CEO of the company I used and he worked extremely hard to not only build a good reputation but also great credibility because at the end of the day, you need both of these things when you're working with something as important as DNA testing. GiGi also claimed that my marriage to Lacey wasn't legal because we had gotten married in the UK and according to her, this makes our marriage invalid which isn't true at all.

Our marriage is legal but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter anyway because I'll be giving Lacey the wedding of her dreams very soon, so either way she's still my wife and she always will be.

I hoped GiGi would ve learned her lesson about messing with me and that I could call off the big dogs if she did but she hasn't and soon she'll be facing the consequences of her actions. Knock!!, knock!!, knock!!.

"Come in"

Tooked up and I smiled when I saw my brother-in-law

Justin walk into my office

"Hey, brother"

"Hey, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, I was in the neighbourhood and thought I'd drop in anc say hi"

Justin says with a smile that I haven't seen in a very long time.

"Ok and why are you smiling like that?"

"Like what?"

Justin asked while scrunching his eyebrows together but his smile never faltered, if anything it got bigger and brighter.

"You're smiling like all of your Christmases and birthdays have come at once, what's going on?...Sab isn't pregnant again, is she?"

I ask and his eyes widen.

"Of course not, James Junior is only a few months old"

"And? women can still get pregnant within a month or two of giving birth which may not be safe and or healthy but they still do it, Justin"

I say and Justin looks at me with confused eyes.

"Well, that's definitely not Sabrina, I mean, she loves being mom but she hates being pregnant, so I highly doubt we'll be having another one anytime soon" Hmm.

I guess that explains the six-year age gap between Emily and baby James.

"So, why are you smiling like that then?"

"Because of these"

Justin said while looking down at his phone.

"Here you go, take a look at those"

He then handed me his phone and told me to keep swiping right.

At first, I was confused but then I saw the adorable pictures of my wife and children with Justin's son.

My heart instantly melted and at that moment, I knew I wanted nothing more than to go home and make love to my beautiful wife until I was successful in getting her pregnant again.

The first few pictures were of Lacey holding our nephew and he looked so freaking content in my wife's arms, there was also a couple of her feeding baby James and the rest were of my children with their cousin. There was even one of my wife holding our nephew with our children all sitting around her and they're all looking down at the baby.

"They're beautiful, aren't they?"

"Yeah, they are, where did you get them from?" I ask while narrowing my eyes at the last picture because it looks like it's in my living room.

"Sabrina sent me them...she went to see Lacey today"

He says and my head snaps up.

"What did you just say?"

"You heard me... my wife went to see your wife with our kit as well as Liam and Luca's daughters"

What the f**k?.

"Why?"

"Because she misses her, Lo...Lacey and Sab were really close before all of that bullshit happened six years ago ant it broke her heart when Lacey disappeared without a trace Justin said whilst looking down at his lap.

"Those two were like the sisters they never had and Sabrina's been dying to reconnect with her ever since she came back, so she took a chance and went to see her"

"But why would she take Liam and Luca's kids with her?"

I ask annoyed and he looks at me with an expression that says seniously.

"Why not, Lo? it's not Jade's fault that Liam didn't do his job and protect Lacey and it's not Melissa's fault that both of her father's betrayed her auntie and broke her heart"

Hmm, I guess so.

"They're just kids, Logan... innocent kids and they deserve have a relationship with their auntie and cousins"

"You're right"

I said feeling like an asshole.

"I know I am... just hope that one day, Lacey can open up her heart and give me a chance as well"

Justin says with a sad smile and I smile back at him.

"One day at a time, brother, that's all it takes is just one day at a time"

I say and Justin nods his head.

Justin's phone then started ringing and he answered it but whoever called him which I'm gonna guess is his wife considering the affectionate word he used, left Justin feeling both excited and baffled and myself confused yet intrigued. "Hello...hey baby, what's up?.. what? are you serious?"

Justin asks with a slight smile on his face as he scratches the back of his neck.

"I can't belleve this, like are you being serious? this isn't a joke, is it? please tell me this isn't a prank, babe?"

Justin pleads with Sabrina with desperation in his voice and I swear heard her chuckling on the other end of the phone.

"Thank you, baby, I love you so much"

They bid each other goodbye and I couldn't help mocking my friend

"Thank you, baby, I love you so much" I said while making kissy sounds.

"Are we really gonna go there, Lo when you're just as bad with Lacey as I am with Sab?"

"Touche, brother"

I say and we both chuckle.

"So, what was the call about?"

I ask feeling intrigued to know what's got him so excited.

"Well...apparently, Lacey has invited us for dinner tonight:

your place"

Justin says while letting out a shaky breath.

"Has she?"

"Mmm-hmm, Sabrina said they talked and Lacey confessed to being conflicted with how she feels about forgiving myself, Liam and our mom considering we didn't directly hurt her but we didn't do anything to protect her either but according to Sabrina, she's willing to at least try with me" He says with tears in his eyes and I smile.

"That's good, I'm happy for you...Lacey needs her family and slowly she'll come around and forgive you all, the fact she's inviting you guys for dinner proves that therapy is working for her and she's willing to try" "So, she's back in therapy?"

Justin asks sounding kind of relieved that she is.

"Yeah...your press conference f****d her up badly, so I didn't waste any time in getting her back into therapy"

I say and he nods his head

"Good, she needs it, therapy's got a stigma about it just like mental health has but what a lot of people don't know or realise is that therapy is good for you and it can benefit yo so much if you give it a good shot" "Speaking like a good therapy baby"

I say with a smile and he chuckles.

"Yeah, I've had my fair share of therapy sessions over the years, especially since I've become a dad"

*I'll bet"

Knock!!, knock!!, knock!!

A shaky sounding rap on my door interrupts us.

"Come in"

The door opened and my secretary Sophie walked in looking like she was shaking like a shitting dog in the rain and her face was as white as a sheet of paper.

"Is everything ok, Sophie?"

lask feeling concerned and she rapidly shakes her head whilst looking down at the floor.

Sophie is a very confident and professional woman, so its shocking to see her acting this way if I'm being honest with you.

"What's wrong, Sophie? has something happened to my wife or my kids?"

I ask feeling very nervous as my brain immediately went into default thinking harm had come to one of my babies when I knew they were fine.

"N.. no, s..sir"

"Ok...then what's the matter?"

"You. you.. you h..have some v..visitors, s..sir"

She stutters sounding scared.

I was about to lose my temper and ask her what the f**k was going on? and who was here to see me? when my door suddenly burst open causing Sophie to flinch and back away.

At first, I was angry and annoyed at the person for rudely bursting into my office without an invite but all of that quickly dissipated as a smirk formed on my face when I saw my old friends standing there and they look every bit the dangerous and powerful assholes that they are.

"Hello there brothers or should I say brother and cousin"

He said with a smirk.
