Chapter 96

Lacey's P.O.V.

My grandmother Bunny once told me that death isn't the end but it's the beginning.

all of us.

I don't know what GiGi's soon-to-be demise will be the beginning of for her and I don't know if she'll be going up or going down after she takes her final breath but I know that for myself, my husband and our children, it's gonna the beginning of a peaceful future for "Can you do me a favour, Lace?"

Logan asks me as we stand in front of GiGi with Klayton standing next to me and Benjamin and Connor book ending all of us.

"Sure, what's up?"

Logan lets out a breath as he looks at GiGi before looking at me.

"Don't dawdle, ok...just ask her what you need to ask her and then let Klayton take over, don't let yourself get too worked and don't let her wind you up either"

I smiled at my husband as I gripped his hand and kissed his cheek.

"Don't worry, love, I won't do anything to harm our baby or cause him or her any stress"

"Good"

Logan leaned down and kissed my lips just as Klayton's dominating voice was heard ordering his men to wake up GiGi. "Ok gentlemen, wake her up"

Four of Klayton's men stood on either side of GiGi and in unison, they all threw a bucket of ice water on her waking her up. A frantic GiGi thrashed around so much that she almost knocked herself backwards but she was stopped from doing so by two of the men standing next to her.

Klayton walked over to her and stood in front of her blocking her view of us.

"Hi there Giana, remember me?"

"How could I forget?"

GiGi said through gritted teeth as she glared at my cousin.

"Don't be like that Giana, I've brought you a Christmas gift"

"Please tell me you're finally gonna kill me"

She pleaded with Klayton who laughed.

"Soon but first, I wanna give you your gift"

Klayton moved out of the way and GiGi's eyes widened as her mouth turned into a nasty snarl when she saw me. "Hi there, GiGi"

"You...this is all because of YOU!!"

"Calm down, Sidney, none of this is my fault"

I say while rolling my eyes as I move closer to her.

"It is your fault, it's all your fault"

"How?"

I ask with annoyance in my tone but I was chuckling at how utterly ridiculous she was being.

"How is your current predicament in any way my fault, GiGi?"

"Because you couldn't handle the fact that Logan wanted me, not you, so you tricked him into thinking those three brats were his and you called in your dog over there when you realised you were going to lose him to me"

She said earning angry groans from the men around us.

"Jesus Christ, you must have one hell of a filter on your brain, GIGI"

Logan said in disbelief and she gasped.

"Logan? baby, you're here, tell these people to let me go, I haven't done anything"

"You haven't done anything wrong?"

Logan asks as he comes and stands next to me.

"So you didn't abandon your children with your elderly parents who are in poor health, you didn't leave them to live in squaller while you lived the high life in New York, you didn't lie to the media about my wife and kids and the cherry on top of the cake... you didn't put a hit out on my wife and children so that you could have me"

Logan asks and she rapidly shakes her bald head.

"No, I.....I didn't do any of that, I swear, it's all lies"

"So, you're innocent, right?"

"That's right"

She said with a smile thinking she had got Logan on her side.

I glared at GiGi as I grabbed a chair and dragged it placing it a couple of feet away from her.

I then sat down in the chair and watched as the four men stood close to GiGi which I knew was an order from Klayton. "What?" She growls at me.

"First of all, don't talk to me like that, secondly, if you've got any notions in your head that Logan believes any of your bullshit, end them now and thirdly...I just wanna know why?"

"Why what?"

She asks confused.

"Why you're such a scumbag of a human being? why you hate me so much? why you hate your parents and your kids?" I ask in a stoic voice.

I may not be in the Italian mafia but I know when to act like I am and hide what I'm truly feeling from my enemy which is this b***h right in front of me.

"I don't hate my family"

GiGi says and I scoff.

"Well, you certainly don't love them...I mean, fuck...I've seen dogs on the street who have been cared for better than your poor family have, GiGi" "You don't know anything about me or my family, Lacey" "Don't I?"

I ask as I lean forward just a little bit.

"I've been to their home, I've seen how they live, how your kids live, GiGi...I even witnessed some thug manhandling your poor father because of a debt they couldn't repay"

"And that's my fault?"

GiGi growled and it made me even angrier because there was no sadness or panic or any of the other emotions in her voice that should be there when one hears that a member of their family was attacked or threatened.

"Yeah actually GiGi, it is your fault because you abandoned them...you left them with no money, no support and no way o keeping their heads above water, you left them to struggle and you left them with no choice but to get loans out just so that YOUR kids can keep a roof over their heads and YOUR kids can have food in their stomachs and clothes on their backs, so yeah b***h, it's ALL your fault"

Relax, babe"

Logan said as he placed his hand on my shoulder.

I was getting worked up and I needed to calm myself down because I was going against what I had promised not only him but also my cousin and myself that I wouldn't do.

I take several breaths in and out before looking back at GiGi.

"Why would you do that? why would you leave your own parents and kids to struggle while you're here living the high life one of the greatest cities in the world and acting like you haven't got a single care in the world?"

"Because I didn't want them, I didn't want any kids"

"Then why have them? I can understand Chloe because mistakes happen but Alex...how do you explain him?"

I ask her and she looks at me shocked.

"How do you know their names?"

"That's not important, now answer my questions, why would you treat your family like that? why would you abandon your kids? why wouldn't you do anything to help them? I may not like my parents GiGi but I could never abandon them like you did yours" "You would if you knew the truth because even I couldn't forgive my parents if they did what yours did, Lacey"

Oh god, what now?.

"What are you talking about? what did they do?"

I ask her and her lips curve up into a slight smirk.

"Well, it's not what your stupid sap of a mother did but more what your dad did"

"What did he do?"

I wasn't sure if I wanted to know but for my own peace of mind, I needed to know.

"You've met them, haven't you? you've met my kids...do they look familiar to you?"

"If you've got something you wanna say GiGi then hurry up and spit it out because I haven't got all night and unlike you, I actually care about my kids and being there for them"

I say and she chuckles.

It was a creepy laugh and it made her sound deranged.

"Ok fine, you want the truth, well here it is...I wanted to be famous and I wanted to be rich and I was gonna achieve my dreams by any means possible, I didn't care who I had to screw in order to get to the top just as long as I got there, do yo feel me?" "Thankfully no, I don't feel you"

I said earning chuckles from everyone except GiGi.

"Well, anyway, I started having an affair with a well-known businessman, a married man with kids who was bored with his life and his boring wife...he wanted something younger and sexier to spice up his life...in walks GiGi, I made that man happy again and he made me a star but I knew good looks and a rocking body can only get you so far, I also wanted to b more than just some slutty mistress, so I tried to encourage him to leave his family for me but he wouldn't budge, he said despite everything he still loved his wife dearly... but then I fell pregnant and he threatened to cut me off if I told the world who my daughter's dad is, then I fell pregnant again and I hoped that my son would be enough for him to leave his family because I knew more than anything how much than man adores his boys"

She said in a taunting way.

"But he still didn't leave them...instead, he blocked us and refused to see me again"

"Wait, I thought you loved Logan and wanted to be with him?" I ask confused.

"I did...I didn't love my married lover but he was great in bed and he's super rich which means he could've given me the lifestyle I so badly craved"

Of course, it's all about money at the end of the day.

"So, what happened next?"

"Well, I moved on, I tried to be a mother but I'm not what you are Lacey, I'm not a natural-born mother, so I left... abandoned my family in New Jersey and moved to Manhattan, I changed my name and I forgot all about Giana McAddams and her sad and pathetic life...anyway, not long after I arrived, I started to learn more about Logan and I knew that I wanted to make him mine, I also knew he wouldn't accept two kids that aren't his, so I decided to be the three monkeys with them, see no kids, hear no kids, speak of no kids...it's like they didn't exist or better yet it's like they were dead"

She said earning angry groans and murmurs for all of the men.

"You're a piece of s**t"

My cousin spat at her.

"Call me something I haven't heard before"

She said while rolling her eyes.

"I'm sorry but what has you being a shitty mother and a gold-digging w***e got to do with my parents?" I ask GiGi and she smirks.

"Well, let's just say, you and my kids are connected"

"What? what the hell are you talking about?"

I ask and she laughs.

"Do you want a hint? ok, I'll give you a hint... my children's dad is a native of England"

What?.

This has got to be a joke.

"You mean..."

"That's right, Lace...my children's biological father is none other than your daddy, James Carpenter"
