Daddy's Little Whore -
Daddy’s Little Whore – Part 109
CLINT’s POV
I sat at my desk, my mind preoccupied with thoughts of Keira. She had been going through a rough time lately with all the threats her stepbrother, Calvin, had sent her way. He tried to scare and intimidate her, but his motive was unclear. His tactics were clearly working, as Keira was always anxious and stressed out, and by God, I hated seeing her like this.
What could I do to help her? As her therapist, I could ease her stress but not remove it altogether. I wished that I could shoulder all the burden she was carrying on her shoulders.
I picked up the freshly brewed cup of coffee from my desk and took a sip, my mind delving deeper into my thoughts.
My receiver rang, interrupting my reverie as I was lost in thought.
I pressed the button, and a feminine voice came from the speakers.
“Mr. Homer, Mr. Murray is here to see you. Do I let him in?”
My mind and time had been fully occupied with Keira that I had forgotten the meeting I had scheduled with James. I let out an exasperated sigh and spoke.
“Yes, let him in now,” I said, removing my finger from the receiver.
A few moments later, Mr. Murray walked into my office.
“Good afternoon, Mr Homer. I have some information for you,” he said, making.
I leaned forward, eager to hear what he had to say. “What did you replace out?” I asked.
“Well, following Calvin was a tough thing to do. It is almost like he was a ghost, and I have difficulty catching up or seeing him.”
I frowned, feeling frustrated. “What about the unknown number the d**k has been using to send Keira threats? Did you manage to track it down?”
Mr. Murray looked at me apologetically. “I am sorry, Mr. Homer, but I could not replace anything. The number seems to be untraceable. Calvin may be using a burner phone.”
I sighed, feeling defeated. This was not the news I had been hoping for. “So, what do we do now?” I asked, feeling lost.
Mr. Murray thought for a moment before responding. “Well, I think I will have to keep following Calvin. We might be able to catch him in the act or replace some other evidence that we can use against him.”
I nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope. “Okay, let us keep at it then. We can’t let him slip out of our fingers now. I’m positive we can get something on him, something we can use to replace him,” I said determinedly.
James nodded and shook my hand as he rose up from the chair.
“As always, I will keep in touch if I replace anything,”
“Thank you again for everything.”
James shrugged and smiled. That was the first time I had seen him with such an expression.
“I have not done anything worth your thanks.”
As James exited the office, I could not help but feel worried about Keira. I knew this situation was taking a toll on her, and I hated that I could not do more to help her. But I promised myself I would do everything possible to keep her safe.
The office was now silent, except for the clock ticking incessantly. I decided to bury myself in some paperwork, and as I did, time flew by before I realized it.
I raised my head and took my eyes away from the piles of paper on my table. I rubbed my aching temples, and my eyes moved to the wall clock. It was a little after 3 pm, and it was time for Keira’s therapy session.
But where was she?
I felt slightly anxious at her late arrival, so I made another pot of coffee to calm my nerves. As I began to brew coffee, my receiver rang. I jumped away from the coffee machine and ran to it, placing my finger on the button.
“Is it Miss Temple? Send her in,” I said without giving my secretary any room to speak.
“O-Okay, I will send her in now.”
I let go of the receiver and settled myself in my chair, my eyes fixed on the door as I eagerly waited for Keira to walk in.
After a few seconds, which felt like an eternity, Keirawalked in. My bright smile simmered when I noticed how dull she looked and the paleness of her skin.
Keira settled herself in the plush armchair and gave me a weak smile.
“Hey, is everything okay?” I asked as I approached her.
“Hey, is everything okay?” I asked as I approached her.
Keira shook her head and looked on the verge of tears.
“I actually got another text from Calvin,” she said, pulling out her phone from her shoulder bag and handing it to me.
I looked at the text and was thrown into a state of confusion at how vague it was.
“What is he talking about?” I inquired, feeling skeptical about the text message.
“Well, I asked Papa about it, and he said Calvin wants his company, the same company that he is handing over to me.”
I went owl-eyed. “You are the successor?” I blinked in surprise.
Keira nodded. “And I do not know how to feel about this. The responsibility is weighing heavy on me, Clint,” she said softly.
I went grim as I noticed how tensed up she looked, and there was only one thing I could do to help her.
“So, why don’t we start with some relaxation exercises? I am sure they will help you a lot right now.”
Keira shot me a grateful smile and nodded.
“Now, I want you to visualize a serene place. It can be a beach, a park, or even your bedroom. Imagine yourself in that place, surrounded by calmness and peace,” I said.
Keira closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. “I am in a garden, surrounded by flowers and a gentle breeze,” she said, visibly more relaxed.
“Great. Now, focus on your senses. What do you hear? What do you smell?” I asked, encouraging her to use her imagination.
“I hear birds chirping and the sound of leaves rustling. I can smell the fresh flowers,” Keira said, smiling.
“Good job. You are doing great,” I praised.
I noticed how her tensed shoulders were starting to slump. It made me smile, and I wished this was all I needed to do to make her anxiety disappear forever.
But if that happened, would she need me anymore? The realization dawning on me was like a blow to the cheek.
“Say, Keira, let us have dinner at my place tonight.”
