Daddy's Little Whore
Daddy’s Little Whore – Part 121

KEIRA’s POV

The sound of my alarm clock buzzing in my ear jolts me awake. I g*****d and rummaged around my bedside table until I shut it off.

It was the day I would meet the investors and start my journey as my father’s successor. I was not feeling excited about it, and neither did I want to leave my bed.

As I tossed and turned in my bed, Natasha burst into the room, a determined look on her face.

“Alright, Keira, let us get you ready for your big day,” she said, a hint of excitement in her voice.

I informed Natasha about the meeting when I got home last night, but I was not expecting her to be more hyped up about it than I was. Natasha walked over to my window and opened up the curtains, allowing sunlight to stream into my room.

“Come on, sleepyhead! Up with you! Your first good impression should be punctuality!” She beamed.

I g*****d and threw the sheets over my face, which was immediately taken away by Natasha, who threw them to the ground.

“Come on, Keira, I know you are nervous, but everything will be fine. Just hold your head high!” She said as she looked to the sky with a dramatic superhero pose.

I giggled and smiled at her, grateful for her presence. Natasha always knew how to make me feel better and more confident, even on the toughest days. I got out of bed, stretching my limbs.

Natasha walked over to the closet and started rummaging through my clothes, pulling out various dresses and blouses.

“This one is too casual,” she muttered to herself, tossing a t-shirt aside. “This is too flashy.”

After a few minutes of searching, she pulled out a black, fitted dress with a high neckline and a knee-length hemline.

“This one,” she said, holding it up for me to see. “It is corporate, elegant, and it looks great on you.”

I studied the dress in the mirror, feeling a bit unsure. “Are you sure it is not too formal?”

Natasha shook her head. “No way. You need to look confident and put together but not too flashy. This dress is perfect.”

I took a deep breath and nodded, feeling grateful for her advice. “Okay, let us do it.”

I hopped into the shower, got dressed in the clothes she had picked out for me and stood in front of the mirror once again.

“Come sit! Let me style your hair!” Natasha beamed.

I did as she suggested, and she began to get busy with my hair. She put it up into a tight neat bun and for the final touches, she slid a hair clip in the front.

“There, perfect. Now you are ready.”

I looked at myself in the mirror. Indeed, I looked like an office worker, but that did not help with my confidence whatsoever. The sound of a car honking caught my attention.

“Your father is here! Come on, go, go!”

I nodded at Natasha and picked up my shoulder bag.

As I made my way down the stairs in my black corporate dress, I felt a knot of anxiety in my stomach. I walked out of the apartment and saw Papa standing beside his car, waiting for me. He looked at me, and a smile of approval crossed his lips.

“You look beautiful, Keira,” he said, beaming at me.

I smiled back, trying to hide my nerves. We got into his car and drove to the office, the silence between us making me even more anxious.

When we arrived, Papa led me to the board room, where all the investors were seated. The board room was spacious, with a large conference table in the middle and plush chairs for each of the investors. The walls were adorned with framed certificates and awards, and the room was filled with the low hum of chatter as the investors discussed business.

I noticed Clint among them, and my heart sank. We made eye contact, but I quickly tore my eyes away. Sadness began to build in my heart, but I pushed my emotions aside and took my seat beside Papa at the head of the table.

“Good morning, everyone. Now I have called you all today to introduce you to my daughter and the next CEO of this company.”

Murmurs erupted from every direction and I could not help but look to the ground.

“This is Keira Temple.”

I immediately felt their eyes on me as they murmured amongst themselves. Suddenly, an investor rose up and spoke.

“I am sorry, but I cannot agree to Keira taking over as the successor,” he said, his voice stern. “Calvin is a better candidate.”

Wait! They preferred Calvin, who had been very absent in the family and company, to me, who had been tutored all my life for this. How deep had Calvin eaten into their minds?

“And I told you, Mr Woodridge, my word is final. I did not call my daughter out here for you to pick on her. I have made my decision. She is only here for formalities’ sake. You should all get to know your next CEO,” Papa said sternly.

I felt my anger rising at the mention of my stepbrother’s name. They wanted Calvin to be the next CEO. For some reason, it ignited a flame in me. My body began to move on its own. I stood up and faced the investors, speaking boldly.

“I am sorry, Mr Woodridge, but I do not believe that Calvin is a better candidate than me,” I said, my voice shaking slightly. “I have the skills, the determination, and the passion to lead this company forward. And I will prove that to you all.”

I sat down, feeling a mix of relief and pride at my words. My father looked at me, impressed by my boldness, and I knew I had made an impact.

The investors continued to murmur amongst themselves, but I held my ground, my gaze never wavering, determined to prove my worth. I was reluctant to take the role of CEO. But seeing as there were a lot of people looking down on me, it made me furious.

I was going to show them that I could run the company.

“So you heard her. This is your next CEO, and I do not want to hear any more complaints or objections from you, Mr Woodridge.”

Mr Woodridge had a scowl on his face as he sat back down. Through the corner of my eyes, I could see Clint, a smile on his face. It sent a wave of happiness through me. Was he impressed about how I had spoken up? I was eager to hear what he thought.

And as the meeting went on, I felt my confidence growing, but that confidence shattered when I felt Mr Woodridge’s eyes on me.
