Daddy's Little Whore
Daddy’s Little Whore – Part 82

Clint’s POV

I sat at the polished conference table, surrounded by the other executives from our company. The room was quiet, save for the gentle hum of air conditioning and the shuffling of papers. Suddenly, the door at the head of the room swung open, and in walked Kane, the owner of our company.

The room fell silent as Kane strode confidently to the front of the room. He was a tall, imposing figure with a warm gaze and impeccable suit. He stood at the podium, facing us, and cleared his throat.

“Gentlemen,” he began, his voice echoing in the room. “Thank you for joining me today. As you all know, our company is at a critical juncture. We are facing challenges in the market, and we will need to make some tough decisions in order to move forward.”

I could feel the tension in the room rising. Kane was known for his cutthroat business tactics, and I knew that this meeting was not going to be an easy one. But as he continued to speak, I was struck by his conviction and his unwavering belief in our company’s future.

“But I know that with your help, we can overcome these challenges,” he said, his eyes scanning the room. “We have the talent, the drive, and the dedication to succeed. So let us roll up our sleeves and get to work…”

My mind, however, was short-spanned, and I zoned out almost immediately. My mind trailed to Keira easily. There was something about her that worried me greatly. Even though she seemed calm, I could tell that she was stricken with anxiety. My presence calmed her down a bit, but it did not suffice.

It hurt me to see Keira in that state. I had tried my best to make her feel better, but nothing ever worked. Was there anything more I could do for her?

I was quite thankful that the yoga had calmed her mind down a little. I recommended that she do some more yoga if her mind felt troubled.

But what could I do for her? How could I rid her of all the burden she carried? The root of all Keira’s problems was her stepbrother. I clenched my fists in anger. If only there was a way to eliminate him once and for all, I would have done it.

I sighed through my nose, and my eyes slowly shifted to Kane. The resemblance he shared with his daughter was uncanny, but there was something a bit off about him. His cheeks seemed to sink into his face, and his collarbone had some depth to it.

I also noticed how much the bones protruded out of his wrist. He looked drained and tired, but I could not exactly put my finger on it. All I could tell was there was definitely something wrong with him, or something was bothering him greatly.

The meeting continued, and Kane kept talking for more than an hour. I sat, listening, occasionally drifting away from the meeting.

After speaking for a few more minutes, Kane stepped away from the podium and took his seat at the head of the table. The other attendees of the meeting discussed some more with Kane for a few more minutes before the meeting officially came to an end.

Everyone rose up from their chair and began to exchange pleasantries. I exchanged a few words with some of the investors while maintaining a courteous smile on my face.

Everyone began to leave the conference room one by one until I picked up my file and began to walk over to the door when I heard my name echo through the walls. I turned back sharply to see Kane walking up to me.

“Ah, Mr Temple,” I said with a smile as I shook his hand.

“Clint, it has been a while. How are you faring?”

“Well, just the usuals…work,” I chuckled.

Kane chuckled and gave me a pat on the back.

“Things have been a bit hectic, right? Even for me,” he said as his face went grim.

“Is everything okay?” I asked, even though I had an idea why his face showed so much distress.

“Well, you see, it is about my daughter, Keira. Lately, she has been acting weird, like something is on her mind, but she refuses to open up. She also seemed to have lost some weight and is barely eating,” He sighed.

I grimaced inwardly. I knew Keira’s current state of mind, but I had no idea her father had noticed her change in behaviour.

Kane rubbed his chin and exhaled.

“Keira did mention she was going for therapy, but from the looks of it, I do not think it is working. She is not getting better, and it worries me that she keeps spending her money on that therapist.”

My heart dropped, and I went solemn in that moment. Was my treatment not working? No, there was no way that was possible. Keira had only spiralled down recently, and that was because of her stepbrother. It had nothing to do with me.

“Anyway,” Kane spoke up, drawing me away from my thoughts. “I am really worried about my daughter, and I do not want her to keep seeing that therapist. Do you know any good therapists? I do not care the cost, I will pay as much as I have to. Anything for my daughter.”

I began to mull over his words. If Kane managed to get Keira, a new therapist, then she would most likely be forced to stop using my services, even though she would not want to.

There was only one thing I could do.

“Well, Mr Temple, I happen to be a very good therapist,” I said with a grin.

Kane’s eyes brightened, and he smiled.

“Oh really? Then that would be perfect! Having you, a close friend and a business partner take care of my daughter would put me at ease completely.”

I smiled again. “It would be an honour to help your daughter, Mr Temple.”

Kane let out a loud chuckle and gave me a pat on the back.

“Well then, I will make sure to introduce you both sometime.”
