As soon as Tyrone got in the car, he was greeted with Mrs. York's voice that instantly made his head feel twice as heavy. "Mom, am I even your son?"
Mrs. York nodded, "Yes, yes, of course, you are. But son, there's a difference between being a son and speaking the truth." Tyrone let out a sigh, "Mom, hold up. First, tell me, how did you even get here?"
Mrs. York's gaze flickered, "I came for a vacation."
Tyrone chuckled, "Mom, cut the crap. Apart from shopping and playing cards, what else do you enjoy? In this weather, you're not off to some cool retreat, but here for a vacation? Do you think I'm dumb?"
"I'm really here for a vacation, believe it or not."
"Alright, you're on a vacation. Then explain to me, how did Serena end up here?" Seeing Serena reminded Tyrone of Alexander.
"Her, well, her mom and I planned a shopping spree yesterday afternoon, and I was just about to pick up some travel essentials, so we went together. It just so happened we talked about coming to Zion City, and Rachel's mom got really excited about it, so she entrusted her to me."
Tyrone scoffed, "That's really trusting."
"Listen, you can enjoy youself today, but you'd better head back home tomorrow."
Mrs. York immediately shook her head, "Go back? I've just arrived, after all this trouble. Besides, Look at you, getting so easily pushed around and even kicked out. With me here, at least I can give you some advice, right?"
Tyrone massaged his forehead, "Mom, I wasn't 'kicked out,' okay? And I wasn't before, either. Today was just a coincidence that you saw me. The best way you can help me is by not doing or saying anything that could backfire on me, please."
"If you're that capable, go ahead and win her over then."
Mrs. York waved her hand, "Alright, son, I've seen enough by now. You can't handle that little witch's firepower, and neither can I."
Tyrone smiled, "If I really win her over, would you be okay with it?"
Mrs. York earnestly said, "It doesn't matter if I'm okay with it or not. Son, what I want isn't to see you entangled in some love feud. I want to see you settle down and live a good life." Tyrone paused, remaining silent.
When they arrived back at the hotel, Tyrone, carrying the medicine, got out of the car with Mrs. York following behind.
Before entering, Mrs. York held him back, "Son, if you're not certain, don't make any rash decisions that could hurt others."
Tyrone paused; understanding Mrs. York's point, he nodded, "Got it."
Mrs. York stopped him again, "Never mind, look at you. Better I go in, to avoid you getting kicked out again."
"Mom."
"I'm not wrong. Go get something to eat. It's about time Quintessa hasn't had dinner yet. With her sensitive stomach, you better hurry and get her something to eat."
Tyrone hesitated for a moment, then handed the medicine to Mrs. York.
Mrs. York rang the doorbell twice before the door swung open.
Seeing the person outside, Quintessa paused in drying her hair, "Auntie, what brings you here?"
Mrs. York smirked and entered, "Came to see how you managed to kick my son out."
Quintessa chuckled and closed the door.
After a moment of hesitation, Mrs. York handed over the medicine, "It's not good for a young lady to rely on this medicine too much. You two... well, you know... should have taken precautions."
