Quintessa felt uneasy under Tyrone's scrutinizing gaze. She had always believed that revenge was her personal matter. The first couple of times she had involved Tyrone were because he had found out, and she had to involve him for her own protection. However, after spending time together, Quintessa had started to feel differently about Tyrone. She couldn't define what their relationship was, but it was too late to turn back, and there was no need to drag him down with her.
Quintessa forced a smile. "Worried about me, huh? Don't worry, I'm not that foolish."
Tyrone scoffed, "Do you think you're that clever? The only reason you've gotten this far is because I've let you. If you think you've managed to outmaneuver me all this time, you're wrong. When it comes to plotting and scheming, you're no match for someone like Sean; he is a seasoned player in the business world. The moment you agreed to work with him, you played right into his hands. Tell me your plan; I'll handle it."
Quintessa remained tight-lipped. "There's nothing."
Suddenly, he gripped her chin firmly. "Tell me."
There was no trace of smiles on Tyrone's face; his intense stare and serious expression terrifying. This was how he looked when he was serious, which was rarely the case around Quintessa.
Quintessa felt as if her heart was being squeezed. Tyrone had forcefully made his way into her world, disregarding her wishes and insisting on participating in her revenge. She was torn between the comfort of having someone by her side in her darkest moments and the guilt of not knowing how to repay such a gesture.
Quintessa licked her lips nervously, "You don't have to do this. I can handle it myself."
Tyrone bit Quintessa's lip harshly. "Sometimes I really want to knock some sense into you. Don't worry, I'm not like you; I abide by the law. There are ways to handle someone without breaking the rules; you just don't know how to play the game."
Quintessa glared at him. "Are you mocking my intelligence?"
Tyrone smirked. "And what if I am? Don't change the subject, speak up. If you don't, you won't be leaving this office today."
As he said this, his hand had already slipped under Quintessa's skirt.
Quintessa grasped his hand, "I told him, if he wants the money, he

Tyrone flicked Quintessa's forehead. "Dumb. What am I supposed to do with you? Lilian's family had ties to organized crime before going legit Who knows if they're really clean now? But Sean surely knows something. He wouldn't rashty kill Lilian. Otherwise, the Yates family wouldn't let him off. Huh That old fox, who knows what kind of
nefarious plan he's cooking up now."
Tyrone let go of Quintessa and prepared to leave. She asked, "Where are you going?"
He turned back, sealed her lips with a quick kiss, and then let her go. "Stay put. Leave this to me."
Quintessa frowned. "Tyrone, I can handle this."
"Now you'd better keep quiet. I don't want to hear you say again that you can do it by yourself without anyone's help. And, I'm not doing this for you."
Tyrone pressed Quintessa down into his executive chair.
He strode out of the office, closed the door behind him, and casually locked it from the outside.
