Tyrone let out a disdainful snort: then let Sean breathe a bit more of the free air while he can.

Sean only saw a luxury car but failed to notice the person inside. He looked at it with envy, knowing such a vehicle couldn't be bought for less than 10 million.

Sean was busy calculating how he could milk more money out of Quintessa. After all, she had Tyrone backing her up. If he could just dig up some more dirt on Quintessa, something to hold over her, then she'd become his personal ATM.

Sean then thought of Rachel.

Tyrone was on the phone asking if Violet had seen Quintessa. He was anxious; Emberbrook was vast, and without her phone, even asking for help in searching would take some time.

He was worried something might have happened to Quintessa in the meantime.

However, he received a call from a traffic officer, informing him that Quintessa had been pulled over for driving without a license. Both she and the car were detained at the station, and he needed to come and pay a fine to get her released.

Tyrone's heart clenched at the news. "Is she okay? No accidents or anything, right?"

This was Tyrone's biggest fear since distracted driving often led to accidents.

"Hey, you wishing something did happen? She hit a guardrail, but she's fine."

Tyrone exhaled in relief. "That's good then. As long as she's okay. I'll be right there, don't be too hard on her."

Arriving at the station, Tyrone saw Quintessa sitting there, a forlorn figure under the stern gazes of two sun-tanned traffic officers lecturing her.

Quintessa hung her head low, her thoughts unknown. Tyrone approached, placing his coat over her shoulders, "I'm the owner of the car. Speak to me instead."

Quintessa shivered slightly but didn't look up.

"Ah, so you're the car owner? Did you not know she didn't have a license? How could you let her drive without one, were you trying to endanger her life or everyone else's?" The officer's tone was almost jesting.

"Especially for a public figure. How

could you knowingly commit such an act? Such a pretty face, if something were to happen, it'd be a loss for you and for us, the audience. Everyone wants to see a beautiful face these days."

Quintessa nodded. "I'm sorry, it won't happen again."

Quintessa was cooperative, leaving the officer somewhat speechless. Thinking it was enough, he concluded. "We're impounding the car, deducting points, and fining you. Plus, you'll cover the cost of fixing the guardrail."

Tyrone nodded in agreement. "Alright."

After paying the fine, the officer added, "This is your first offense, so it's a light penalty. But next time, it won't be so simple. You're lucky it was just a guardrail. If it had been a pedestrian, it could've been fatal."

Quintessa nodded again. "Sorry."

"That luxury car must've cost a fortune, huh? You see it wrecked?"

Grinding his teeth, Tyrone was irked by the officer's chiding of Quintessa. Embracing her shoulder, he asserted, "We've paid the fine, points deducted. Can we go now?" "You're good to go."

As Tyrone escorted Quintessa outside, he couldn't help but turn back and retort, "I've got plenty of cars at home. I could let her play bumper cars all day, and there's nothing you could do about it."
