Faith With Wolves Book 2 -
24. The End
Faith
Six years later
Surprisingly the last few years have been pretty boring. We've barely had any rogue attacks and after Alpha Hayden and his group were killed and imprisoned things went back to normal.
The Beta of The Lotus Pack took over. Apparently, he had no idea what his crazy alpha was doing. Hayden was working out of Sweet Desire mostly and my dad made sure that place was shut down.
Technically Sweet Desire was burnt down because after we saved Caleb who was being held in the basement a mysterious fire was set the next day. My dad denied all involvement despite smelling like smoke.
Still, I'm happy that part of our lives is over. My focus has been on being a great Luna and mother. Both of which have been a challenge. I feel like I'm so busy I never have a moment to breathe or relax. I was supposed to sleep in this morning but then I remembered what an important big day it is.
"Mom do you think I'll make any friends?" the sweetest voice ever asks me.
I smile at my son because he truly brings me happiness. Grayson turned five recently and he's finally getting to go to school. For the last few years, Christopher and Alice have been watching him while Caleb and I work.
I bend down so we're at eye level. "What are you talking about Grayson? you have lots of friends."
And he does. Ruby and Dallas had twins who are just a few months younger than Grayson. My son also can strike up a conversation with anyone. Literally everywhere we go he makes friends. I have no idea who he gets it from.
"Gray we talked about this. The twins have been assigned to the same class as you. I also made sure your little girlfriend Harper sits next to you." Caleb says reminding me why my son is the way he is.
"Dad girls are gross! She's not my girlfriend!" Grayson shouts and stomps his feet.
Caleb scoffs. "Just get to class. You don't want to be late on the first day."
Grayson nods and hugs his dad then me. "I love you both I'll see you later!"
My little boy runs inside the large red brick building and Caleb grabs my hand as we walk back home. The whole time I'm trying not to cry. I still can't believe how much he's grown over the years. It feels like yesterday he was a newborn baby.
Before he was born I thought he would look like me but unfortunately, he looks exactly like his dad with his golden skin and dark hair. The only trait we share is he has one gray eye and one blue one. As we walk I just keep overthinking.
Caleb nudges me. "He'll be fine he's tough."
I nod. "I know I just worry about him. What if he gets a tummy ache or someone's mean to him."
"If he gets sick I'm sure the teacher will call you and as for being bullied that won't happen. Grayson is tougher than you think. Remember the playground incident?"
The playground incident still haunts me. Caleb and I were at the park with Dallas, Ruby, and their twins Sam and Sophie. The kids were playing and having fun until another kid hurt Sophie. Grayson defended her and accidentally broke the kid's arm.
I shake the horrid memory away. "Please don't remind me. I've never seen our sweet little boy so angry."
Caleb sighs. "I know it seemed extreme but you have to remember Grayson is an alpha. It's in his nature to protect others, especially a female. The kid is lucky he only got a broken arm."
I want to argue but I don't because he's right, Grayson is all alpha. He has no vampire traits or fairy ones. It's the oddest thing and even my parents can't figure it out. But my little boy is a werewolf and I'm happy with it.
Distracting me from my thoughts Caleb cups my chin. "Stop overthinking and relax. We both finally have a morning off and I know exactly how I want to spend it." he winks and I roll my eyes.
"Well, I hope those plans include shopping because I'm pregnant again and this time I'm positive it's a girl."
Caleb looks shocked. "Pregnant again? But we were being careful."
"Not careful enough," I whisper and place a soft kiss on his lips. "So how about that alone time before we have two demanding kids."
"Let's do it. I love you so much, baby."
"And I love you, Caleb."
