Falling For The Contract Bride Chapter 62
Chapter 62 Intimacy
Lu Jinye tapped on the link with a frown, but he realized that the link had expired. It showed that theoriginal poster had removed the post.
After a quick hesitation, Lu Jinye took up the phone and gave Mu Zhi a call.
Mu Zhi was expecting a reply when she first sent the link. However, she did not receive one from LuJinye, even after the news had been covered up. She figured Lu Jinye might have been occupied andforgotten about it.
She was not too bothered by it as she went to sleep.
Following which, just as Mu Zhi got up, preparing to go to the scene of the crash to examine thephotographer’s angle, Lu Jinye called.
Mu Zhi picked up the call, confused as she asked, “What is it?”
“What was the link you sent me?”
Lu Jinye asked in a casual tone, albeit with a scowl.
His question astonished Mu Zhi.
As a quick-witted person, it immediately clicked for Mu Zhi. Lu Jinye’s question suggested that he wasnot the person behind the cover-up. Then, who would it be?
“Nothing, it’s just a hilarious joke so I thought I’d share with you.”
Lu Jinye was seemingly unconvinced with Mu Zhi’s explanation. He listened with a frown andresponded, “Really?”
Mu Zhi reassured him as she quickly made an excuse to hang up the call, “Honey, I have a patient toattend to, gotta go.”
After listening to her words, Lu Jinye hung up the call.
However, he had immediately sent the expired link to the IT department, requesting them to look intothe original contents of the link.
After briefly half an hour, while Lu Jinye was going through some work documents by his desk, theperson in charge of the IT department knocked on his door. He said, “Chairman, the content has beenrecovered.”
“What is it about?”
Lu Jinye did not bat an eye at him. He was only interested in the report.
In the end, the person in charge stammered.
To expose the scandal of the chairman and chairman’s wife, a breaking story at that, was simplycourting death.
The person in charge hesitated before suggesting, “Chairman, why don’t you see for yourself?”
Lu Jinye lifted his head with a frown, eyeing him down, “Can’t you read?”
In this instance, he only resented the fact that he could!
The person in charge did not dare utter another word. He handed the document to Lu Jinye tactfully.
Lu Jinye skimmed through the document casually. His first impression told him that it was merely ascandalous news article not worth his attention. But he quickly caught a glimpse of the photo – Mu Zhi
was carried in Lu Junnian’s hands as well as the Volkswagen Polo in the background. Although it wasnot clearly shown, Lu Jinye was certain that it belonged to Mu Zhi.
He peered at the photo and noticed that the Polo had been crashed.
While Mu Zhi was in Lu Junnian’s embrace, appearing to be unconscious.
In the blink of an eye, Lu Jinye leaped to his feet. He did not spare another glance at the dude from ITas he stormed out the room.
He left in a hurry. Sweat started breaking out of the person in charge’s forehead. He mopped the sweatwith the back of his palm as he heaved a sigh of relief.
By the looks of it… Chairman must have been on his way to confront his wife!
…
Mu Zhi had just left the hospital as she set off to the scene of the crash based on fragments of hermemory.
Her car had been towed away, leaving an enormous tire mark spanning across the road.
Following the angle of the photo, she attempted to make out the location of the photographer at thetime.
In the middle of her search, a pearl-white Spyker came a halt before Mu Zhi.
Following closely, Lu Junnian stepped out of the car, staring at Mu Zhi in bewilderment.
“What are you doing?”
Mu Zhi raised her head, her eyes met Lu Junnian. She did not bother engaging in small talks as sheexplained, “I’m looking for the angle of the paparazzi who took the photos of us.”
Upon finishing her words, she added on in case Lu Junnian was not aware of what she was referringto, “When you rescued me, we went on the news and they took photos of us, there were also thingstaken out of context…”
“I know.”
Mu Zhi had not managed to finish her words before getting interrupted by Lu Junnian.
“Huh, you do?”
“It was me who gave the orders to remove the gibberish. I’m worried that you’d be upset about it. Ithought you’d wake up a bit later and would miss the news.”
Lu Junnian explained.
His heart-warming actions combined with his emphasis on the details were purely to make sure it feltinviting to Mu Zhi. Moreover, he ensured to bring it up on time to bring a tinge of warmth to Mu Zhi’sheart.
However, she did not display what she had felt. Instead, she switched optics, “Look at the photo, forsome reason I keep feeling something’s up, why would the photographer be there coincidentally for thephoto?”
Mu Zhi pointed out.
Seeing that Mu Zhi wore a stern face, seemingly trying to estimate the distance for the location of thephotographer, Lu Junnian could not help but adore her.
He followed behind Mu Zhi, keeping her accompanied as she was eagerly searching for the angle.
At the same time, he replied, “Yeah, true, something’s not right.”
How could there not be an issue? However, it might not be what Mu Zhi imagined, that someone hadbeen camping for them. On the contrary, there might be a scheme against them, while the photo wasjust a coincidence.
That was Lu Junnian’s conclusion at this stage.
After the accident yesterday, he had sent his men to investigate Mu Zhi’s car at the very first instance.True enough, her car had been tampered with.
And the person should have not gone far after tampering with her car. They wanted to snap a photo ofthe crash.
Thus, they coincidentally caught a picture of their intimate interaction.
As to why the news broke out… Lu Junnian had guessed that there was only one possibility. Thescheming party was Mu Zhi’s love rival.
The content of the news was focused on his interaction with Mu Zhi. It was aiming to tainting Mu Zhi’sreputation and suggesting her potential affair with Lu Junnian. Thus… The love rival must not haveloved him, and it was most likely someone who loved Lu Jinye.
Lu Junnian had surmised the above, but he did not reveal it to Mu Zhi.
Seeing that Mu Zhi was solemnly following her intuition and searching for clues, he thought she wasadorable. This was a rare opportunity for their interaction.
He logically wouldn’t spoil the moment with the information he had.
Thus, Lu Junnian strode towards Mu Zhi and said softly, “Is there anything else you have in mind? Letme know, perhaps I could be of help.”
Mu Zhi could no longer bother keeping a distance with Lu Junnian. She took out the photo and pointedat it, “Look at this angle, do you think this is the right spot?”
Mu Zhi pointed behind a small tree.
“So, I think the photographer must have been standing on this spot at that time.”
While she was pointing, Lu Junnian had to close into her to check out the photo.
Alas, in an untimely fashion, Lu Jinye stepped off his car and witnessed their intimate interaction!
