Fated is overrated -
Chapter 91

through his hair.
"No I am not! They tricked me into spending a day with them, in order for me to gain access to books about hybrids and such, but that is it. I rejected them. I don't care if they accept it or not, after that day they will never see me again". Nick sighs and runs his hands "You know that's not true, right? They hunted you down, surely they won't just give up. Lycans only get one fated mate. It's why the pull for Lycans is much stronger than normal wolves. The more time you spend in their vicinity, the harder the pull will become". "Nick, trust me, I am a grown woman, and no mate pull is going to get the better of me. Besides, as I already rejected them, I think the bond is already diminished on my end.
I haven't felt betrayal pains in the past 2 years. Any who, that's not what's important. Look, I totally understand if you want to replace another roommate and be done with me, I'm a freak" I say in a small voice.
Nick grabs my hand with his and tilts my chin up with his other hand, staring deep into my eyes. "Lola, as long as you don't want me to, I'm not going anywhere.
I wouldn't even care if you grew 4 heads and looked like an ogre in your shifted form, my feelings for you remain unchanged" he states while squeezing my hand.
My heart flutters at the fact that for once in my life, someone isn't leaving me. Despite knowing my truth. I blush a little at his words and return my gaze downwards again."
Then I uhm have something else to tell you..." he looks at me expectantly before gently squeezing my hand, urging me to continue. "My wolf is a massive white Lycan and has special powers we are yet to replace out about precisely. And my dragon is uhm, an ice dragon".
His mouth drops open and words seem to elude him, I chuckle at the sight. I squeeze his hand gently, before he returns from his daze."
"
Sorry, wow, it's not every day someone tells you they have 2 majestic animals inside them" he looks at me in awe. Liberty and Justice puff their chests proudly at being called majestic, I can't help but chuckle at my girls. "So wait, let me get this straight...." He drawls, looking very incredulous all of a sudden, and I am getting anxious as to where this is going. "You have 2 of the probably most powerful beings alive within you, and yet you laid there helplessly between the rocks when I first met you? And you let me fight off a rogue, while you ran away in human form? And not to mention let the rogue army drive you off to plummet into what I thought would be your death?!".
I can't help but burst out laughing at the question as well as the look on his face. He looks like a kid who just found out Santa Claus is fake. I try to gather my bearings as I laughingly shake out "that was you?! And well, to be fair, I didn't have my dragon yet back then.
And I didn't understand why yet, but Liberty insisted on not shifting unless I killed the rogues I was facing. She was scared we would be captured.
And as I said, we have yet to discover her powers, which is why I need access to books on white wolves so much. So far, I have only been able to unlock something when I got beyond livid" I confess.
"Well, remind me not to piss you off" Nick laughs as his entire face lights up, and I can't help but return the smile. He is the first one who hasn't abandoned me yet, even through hardships and flat out dangerous situations.
I am brought back from my thoughts when he asks "what's on your mind? You seem deep in thoughts". "Many things actually, but among one how you are the only one who has stuck by me through all hardships" I give a sad smile. He squeezes my hand, giving me a reassuring smile.
"I will be here until you no longer want me" "yeah or when you replace your second chance mate. I just hope we could stay friends then. But you will probably be too busy making pups to be hanging around lil old me" I tease, although it is exactly what would happen. She wolves don't like their mates being friends with another she wolf, wolves are very possessive of their mates. And frankly, I get it. 99% of the she wolves I have come across have been vicious and do not seem to care if a wolf is mated or not. Either way, at least the wolf himself should care not to double cross his mate.
And knowing Nick, he would never do such a thing. "Lola you know what happened with my first fated mate. I don't want another fated mate, you know where I stand and what I want and it's not changing" "
I can't imagine the moon goddess making such a horrible mistake to such a precious person twice, Nick. I am positive your next mate will be all you have ever wanted, and I don't want you to give that up, you deserve happiness. They always say loving your fated mate is so much more intense than a chosen one. You shouldn't reject her without getting to know her".
"Says the girl who rejected her only chance at a fated mate", he gives me a pointed look. "That's different! I did get to know them.
They are absolute *ssholes, whereas you don't even know the girl yet!" "Alright fair enough. But either way if you would have me, I would reject her".
As he speaks the last part he hunches over in pain, placing his arm around his abdomen." Nick!!! What's wrong?!" I cry frantically. "It's nothing...."
He starts to say, but before he can finish I cut him off "don't give me that! You have been in pain for goddess knows how long now. We have to go see a doctor".
He smiles "it's alright baby girl. Besides, you and I both know we can't exactly go to a pack doctor". "We'll go to the human one then!" "You know we can't Lola.
They'll immediately recognize my accelerated healing and we can't let humans know about our existence". I ponder on it for a while, there has to be something we can do. And then it hits me - I know exactly what to do!
