Flirting With My Ex-husband -
Chapter 1139
Alexander would celebrate his birthday at the end of this month, and naturally, Scarlett and Raymond had prepared a great gift for him.
Although the celebration was extravagant, only people from their circle were invited, and the guests were mostly of their age.
Scarlett knew most of the guests, for during the three years or so after she had married Raymond, Jean had purposefully taken her out to attend various entertainments, and that was when Scarlett got to know the faces.
It could be said that she had met almost every wealthy person in Juanton City.
Back then, those wealthy figures were not all very friendly towards Scarlett, for Raymond and Jean treated her poorly.
However, now things were different since she had become Mrs. Shaw and the president of Mornet Corporation. Besides, she was also recognized as a granddaughter of the Tank family. No one dared to have a bad attitude towards her.
But anyway, the guests tonight were all Alexander's friends.
Friends of his circle all knew that Alexander and Raymond were very close. For this reason, they would show Scarlett due respect.
Cindy had been fairly busy recently, plus the fact that Scarlett had cut herself off from most social activities after Raymond had an incident, she and Cindy had not seen each other for roughly a year. Tonight, Cindy specially took a day off and attended the party with Stephen.
The moment Cindy entered the hall, she spotted Scarlett, who was sitting next to Raymond. Somehow, she just got the feeling that Scarlett seemed more beautiful than the last time she saw her! With excitement, Cindy freed herself from Stephen and rushed to Scarlett as she called out to her.
Scarlett was wearing a knitted dress in stone-blue, adding on a short dark-green leather coat. She tied her long hair back with a hair band and had applied light makeup. The brick-red lipstick was the finishing touch of her gentle and graceful outfit tonight.
Haven't seen Scarlett for a long time, Cindy felt that her heart almost missed a beat when looking at Scarlett's perfect face. Had Raymond not given her a not so friendly look when she tried to approach Scarlett, she would not hesitate to hug this beautiful sister.
In the end, Cindy calmed down a bit after her eyes met with Raymond's. She then carefully walked up to Scarlet and greeted her.
Scarlett could not help but chuckle, "No business trip tonight?"
A bit embarrassed, Cindy replied, "Well, I'm thinking about resigning."
This answer made Scarlett raise her eyebrow, "Will your boss let you go?"
At the thought of that man, Cindy frowned," I don't care! I will let my brother talk to him if he says no!"
Now Scarlett was rather surprised at Cindy's reaction. So, Harley hadn't won Cindy's heart in more than a year's time?
Was it because Cindy was not easy to fall for a man, or Harley had no idea at all about how to woo a girl? For a moment, Scarlett didn't know what to think of it.
Though today was Alexander's birthday and he should be the star, Raymond, his good friend, had only been accompanying Scarlett all night.
Scarlet had told Raymond that it was okay if he went to congratulate Alexander, but this clingy husband never let her sit there alone.
Now that Cindy was here, Scarlett had a good reason to make Raymond go. So, she turned to him, got rid of his hold of her hand a bit, and scratched his palm with her pinkie, "You can go to Alexander, and I will have a good chat with Cindy."
Giving Cindy a sideway glance, Raymond looked at Scarlett before he reluctantly released his hold on her hand, "Alright, I'll come back later."
Cindy just felt overwhelmed by how sappy this man could be. Seeing that Raymond had gone far, she couldn't help but whisper to Scarlett, "Oh my, Raymond is so sticking to you."
Scarlett brushed, and to hide her shyness, she passed Cindy a glass of juice, "Have some?"
"Oh, thank you so much."
