Flirting With My Ex-husband -
Chapter 1156
Cindy was slightly relieved. She was afraid that Stephen would ask her who the friend was.
"Then I'm going to work."
She turned around and ran down in a flash.
Stephen followed her downstairs and found that a black Phaeton was parked in front of their house. Through the windshield, Stephen saw Harley in the driver's seat. Stephen walked over. "Is this your friend?"
Cindy had not yet got into the car when she heard Stephen's voice. She trembled nervously and glanced back. "Stephen."
Stephen stared coldly at Harley. "We have many cars and drivers. Mr. Dane, you didn't need to come here personally."
Stephen's voice was frosty. Anyone could see that he was annoyed.
However, Harley was calm. "Cindy is my girlfriend. I came to drive her to work. It's no big deal."
Harley paused. "What's more, Cindy is now working in my company. It's convenient for me to pick her up."
Due to the presence of Cindy, Stephen couldn't quarrel with Harley. Stephen frowned at Harley for a moment and said," You're just Cindy's boyfriend. Don't be too confident." Stephen hinted that her sister might marry another man.
Cindy understood it and flushed. "Stephen!"
Afraid that Cindy would be mad at him, Stephen said, "Take care on the road."
He then turned around and went back home.
Cindy was very embarrassed. She got into the car and said to Harley, "Don't take it to heart, Mr. Dane. Stephen is just concerned about me."
However, what Harley cared about was another thing. "What did you call me, Ms. James?"
Cindy was frightened. She had been Harley's secretary for more than a year. Harley usually called her Cindy. Whenever he called her Ms. James, something big had happened. Over the past year, Cindy had been conditioned to respond when hearing him call her Ms. James. She subconsciously said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Dane."
After saying that, she realized that she had made another mistake.
For the first time, Cindy wanted to sew up her lips. Why couldn't she change her habit?
Harley stared at her for a moment and started the car.
There was an awkward silence. Cindy didn't know if Harley was angry.
After driving out of the villa area, the car stopped at the first traffic light.
Cindy peeped at the man beside her. To her surprise, he was looking at her.
When their eyes met, Cindy was embarrassed and nervous. "I'm not looking at you. I'm looking at the streetlight over there."
She pointed in a direction. Harley inclined his head and looked over. There was no streetlight at all.
"Are you sure you're looking at the streetlight?"
Cindy was speechless.
She could only play dumb.
Seeing her silent again, Harley frowned slightly. "Cindy."
"Mr. Dane?"
She seemed unable to change the habit. Harley gave up. "Are you very afraid of me?"
Cindy shook her head. "No."
Her reaction was telling him that she was lying.
He pursed his lips, took out the gift that he failed to give her last night from his pocket, and handed it to her. "I should have given it to you last night."
Cindy was stunned, feeling it was lucky to be Harley's girlfriend..
He drove her to work in the morning and even prepared a gift for her.
She was so touched.
