Only then did Cindy realize what Harley meant.

She blushed and looked at Harley, and soon she was too shy to glance at him again.

She had never thought about this before, however, after hearing his words, she felt that it was not bad to get married early.

From her childhood, she seemed to have no great ambitions, probably because she was from a wealthy family with her brother protecting her well. Besides, she was a diligent student with good looks. Her growing-up experience was not always smooth and happy, but she never lacked warmth and safety.

In college, her purpose of studying economics was to help Stephen with the family business after getting some experience in society for a few years. She really didn't have any other plans. However, after meeting Harley in her freshman year, she changed her idea upon graduation.

The reason why she chose to work in Harley's company was that she wanted to have more opportunities to get close to him. Therefore, when Margaret, a classmate who was competing for the same position, said that she was up to no good, she was too guilty to argue with her even though she was angry.

Thinking of Margaret, Cindy couldn't help but think of another thing.

She hesitated for a moment and then asked Harley, "By the way, our department invited you to attend the anniversary as a guest speaker. Are you going?"

The 30th anniversary of the founding of Juanton University's Department of Economics and Management would be held in two days. Their department had always been rich, and most students who graduated during the past 30 years had accomplished something great. Among those who had graduated for only a few years, even the worst ones had become senior managers.

However, during all these years, Harley was the only one who had become a company's CEO before graduation, and his company went public as soon as he graduated. Among all the graduates, Scarlett was the most famous one. Justin had also obtained a high social status, but he was not from the Department of Economics and Management.

However, Scarlett seemed to have refused to attend this year's celebration.

Thinking of this, Cindy was somewhat disappointed.

Harley didn't know why Cindy suddenly thought of this. He had never been back to attend the anniversary before.

The leaders of their department liked to hold such events. Harley was never a social person, and he always asked Robby to meet their company's business partners on behalf of him. He would only attend those dinner parties when he had to show his face.

Looking at Cindy beside him, he suddenly felt that it was not a bad thing to attend this year's anniversary. "I'll be there," he said.

"Okay. Then I'll send your assistant a message now."

Cindy received the e-invitation letter the day before yesterday, but she had to attend so many meetings that day. She had a big meeting in the morning and two small ones in the afternoon. Because her schedule was too tight, she just glanced at the invitation letter in a hurry, intending to ask for Harley's opinion after all the meetings were over. However, she totally forgot about this because of Sabrina's wedding yesterday.

Harley put his hand around her waist. He was a little unhappy when knowing that she was still thinking about work at such a time.

After Sabrina's wedding, Cindy and Harley stayed one more day in Adelpore City, and then they took the plane back to Juanton City the next afternoon.

It was already 7 p.m. when they arrived at Juanton City. After taking Cindy for dinner, Harley sent her back home.

When they got to the James family's villa, they met Stephen who had just come back from work.

Harley stopped the car and let Stephen pass first.

Stephen drove directly from the side. After entering the garage, he parked the car and went out of the villa, taking over Cindy's trunk. "It's getting late. Mr. Dane, thank you for sending Cindy back." After saying that, Stephen pulled Cindy's sleeves to get her away from Harley.

Because of his action, she had to let go of

Harley's hand.

This happened too fast, and she subconsciously grasped his hand more tightly.

This made Stephen see them holding hands, and his face darkened immediately. "You've been flying for hours, and you still have to go to work tomorrow. Let's go back and have a good sleep." Suppressing his displeasure, Stephen said through gritted teeth and then took Cindy into the villa.

Cindy was a little embarrassed. She turned around and said to Harley, "Good night."

Harley looked at Cindy, but he didn't follow her in. "Good night."

After walking a few steps away, Cindy was still reluctant to part with Harley so soon and she couldn't help but look back at him. When she saw that Harley was still standing at the gate, warmth filled her heart, and she obediently followed Stephen back to the villa.
