Alexa tried riding her bike yesterday, and she had so much fun that she wanted to ride to school.

On their way to school in the morning, Alexa excitedly suggested to Alison, "Shall we ride our bikes to school starting tomorrow? I finally know why Luis always rides his bike to school! It's so much fun!" Alison blinked her eyes. The school was not very far from the Lynch family's house, about three kilometers away. It took about the same time to ride a bike as it did to take the bus to get to the school. If they rode faster, they might get to school a little earlier than the bus, which was a good option.

However...

"Blaze didn't come home last week, and Aunt Alexis and Uncle Justin are out of town on business. I have to wait for them to get back before I can go buy a bike."

Certainly, Alison could buy a bike herself. She could afford a bike.

But since she was living at the Lynch house, she thought she'd better talk to Alexis and Justin about it.

Alexa didn't think it would be a problem." It's not a big deal. Blaze's school is in town. It's easy for him to come home. Send him a message and tell him you want to buy a bike. I'm sure he'll get you one in no time!"

Alison compressed her lips. She was hesitant, "Blaze should be busy. I should wait--" "What's the big deal? Blaze is your brother! A brother is supposed to give you help when you need it, isn't he? You're being too polite. That would make Blaze sad."

Alexa knew a little bit about Alison's situation, and she understood what Alison was worried about. If she were in Alison's place, she wouldn't be much better than Alison.

But Alexa had heard from her mother that the Lynchs were quite nice people. They adopted Alison when she was fifteen years old. They obviously didn't expect Alison to return the favor in the future. They just wanted to offer Alison a better life.

Alison looked at Alexa. She was a little hesitant, "Won't it bother Blaze?" "Maybe he wants you to bother him!

Then Alexa tugged Alison's hand, "Send the message! When we get to school, you can't use your phone."

Alison compressed her lips for a moment. Then she took out her phone and slowly typed the message.

Just after she sent the message, Blaze replied, "Good morning, Alison! I'm not in town. I'll talk to Luis about the bike. He'll get you the bike. Take care of yourself."

Alexa saw the message too.

Alison felt a little guilty. "Blaze is busy. I shouldn't have messaged him."

"Oh my God! Why would you think like that? Even if he's busy, it's super normal to tell him when you need help! Besides, he didn't--"

Before Alexa could finish her sentence, Alison's phone screen lit up again. Blaze sent her another message.

Alison was surprised. She clicked on the message. Her eyes welled up with tears when she saw Blaze's message.

"Alison, I'm so glad you told me about this. Whenever you need something, just give me a call at any time. We're family."

Alexa saw the message, too. She raised an eyebrow, "See? I told you it wouldn't be trouble for Blaze."

Looking at Blaze's message on her phone, Alison felt warmth in her heart.

Ever since she was a little girl, no one had ever been so good to her except her grandmother.

She seemed to be an unfortunate girl, yet she was very lucky. She met the Lynch family, and she met Alexa.

"All right! Don't take anything all alone that comes up later."

Alexa thought Alison was too thoughtful. She never wanted to bother others. She would rather handle everything herself.

As the two chatted, they soon arrived at the bus stop.
