Forsaking the Years of Longing -
Forsaking Billionaire 19
Chapter 19
Despite everything, Sophie decided to make one last attempt.
Clutching her phone, she dialed Lucy, Jaziel's mother, crying out for help:
"Lucy, Jaziel... Jaziel bullied me..."
Her words were deliberately vague, leaving plenty of room for interpretation.
Hearing Sophie's hoarse, pitiful voice, Lucy's temper flared instantly.
"Sophie, wait right there. I'm coming over now! That boy-if he's bullied you and won't take responsibility, then he's no son of mine!"
Lucy hung up the phone and rushed over as fast as she could.
Jaziel's glare was icy, his face dark with fury.
"What are you, Sophie? How dare you slander me?"
His composure shattered, he grabbed Sophie's chin, his grip so tight it left her skin bruised.
But Sophie held onto her phone as if it were a decree from heaven, refusing to let go.
Nolan gently patted Jaziel's shoulder, speaking calmly, "Don't worry about her. She's just a clown. Lucy won't be so blind as to believe her over her own son." Hearing this, Jaziel took a deep breath, releasing Sophie's chin.
The moment Lucy stepped through the door, ready to scold her son, Jaziel handed her the
investigation report.
After carefully reading through it, Lucy's expression darkened like a storm.
She stormed over to Sophie, dropping her elegant facade, yanking Sophie's hair, and delivering a hard slap to her face.
Almost instantly, Sophie's cheek swelled up.
Lucy... why would you treat me like this? Jaziel... he's only saying these things to deny what he's done to me..." Sophie stammered, trying to twist the situation again. *Enough!" Lucy cut her off sharply, her cold smirk eerily similar to Jaziel's.
"Sophie, I know my son better than anyone. And as someone who's been around, don't think I can't tell whether anything actually happened between you and him." "Charlotte chose to spare you, but the Collins and Rogers families won't. Mark
my words."
After all, Charlotte had been cherished by not just her own family but also by the Collins and Rogers families.
During Thanksgiving, when Jaziel and Nolan brought Sophie home unexpectedly, the Collins and Rogers families had already felt deeply embarrassed.
It wasn't because Sophie came from a poor family-they didn't care about that.
The humiliation stemmed from the fact that both families had long hoped Charlotte would marry into their households.
For years, the Collins and Rogers parents had treated Charlotte like a daughter-in-law in waiting, silently hoping their sons would win her over.
But Sophie's sudden appearance threw them completely off guard.
Even though they found Sophie's character questionable-scheming and unfit for high society-they had begrudgingly accepted her because their sons seemed to care for her.
Out of guilt and a sense of responsibility, they even showed her their family heirlooms, thinking that if she were to stay, she might one day inherit them.
Now, with the truth revealed, Lucy had no intention of being kind anymore.
She immediately called Nolan's mother, Anne, to inform her of everything. Anne arrived swiftly, and when she heard the full story, her anger flared. With her fiery temper, Anne wasn't one to hold back.
After hearing Jaziel and Nolan's plans for revenge, Anne only scoffed. "That's far too light."
