From Here to Ecstasy
Chapter 12 - Teaching Manners

Recap:

We changed and walked out, greeting each other by rubbing our fur against each other and bumping our shoulders. As one we took off running. I was in front and Kaley was bringing up the rear. We made sure the women were protected and didn’t wander off.

Griffith’s POV

I was in my office again. I was working with Micah. We were trying to get the desk straight. We had a pile of papers in front of us - one’s we had separated into stacks, each one different information on them. We had a stack for bills, one with bank statements and the rest for everything else. We were making a huge dent in the paperwork, but it seemed as if the paperwork was growing.

I was startled out of reading a paper in my hand by Haley. “Griffith? Can you come to room fourteen?” she asked me through the mind-link. I could tell she was mad about something.

I teleported into room fourteen. “What’s the matter, Haley?” I asked as I rubbed my hand down her arm, hoping to calm her down a little.

“Amy wants permission to let her wolf out and run. I told her she didn’t need it, but she’s scared she will be beat and raped again if she goes against an Alpha.”

I knelt down in front of Amy. “You don’t need my permission, Amy. I will never beat you or rape you. Ever. My sisters would never steer you wrong. All I ask is you to only run if you have someone with you.”

“Y-you w-won’t be m-mad at me?” Amy stuttered as she looked at the ground, making herself smaller than she was.

“Never. You have my word as an Alpha,” I said as I watched Amy’s face change into a smile. She knew I couldn’t against his word or I would lose his Alpha status.

Amy stood up and put her hand out, waiting on me to take her hand. I could tell she was nervous to touch an Alpha, but she pushed herself to go against her nature. I took her hand and pushed myself up.

I was walking back into my office, shaking my head at the depravities in this pack. These poor people were treated as if they were lower than dirt, as if they didn’t matter. They mattered. I walked into my office and sat down on the ground again, sighing loudly.

“Is everything okay, Griffith?” Micah asked me.

“Yeah, no, I don’t know. How can these people be so cruel to anyone. I don’t understand the depravites within this pack. I’m sad these people went through what they did. And, then they had them bed down in the cells? Shit-heads.” I rubbed my chest. “It hurts my heart. I can feel their pain.”

“Like, literally?”

I nodded my head. “Yes. I’ve always been an empath and felt what others felt. I meant, I feel everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. There’s a whole lot of ugliness here.

Alpha Griffith, we have an Alpha asking for entrance,” Knight, a warrior, mind-linked me.

I could feel his hate of this person. He was disgusted with him. The feeling was exactly what I had explained to Micah. “Who is it? What’s the Alpha’s name?”

Alpha shit-head, I meant, Alpha Minyard,” he voiced through the mind-link, almost making me laugh.

“Do you know Alpha Minyard, Micah?”

“That bastard is here? He’s about to challenge you for the pack. He’s sneaky and doesn’t fight fair. He almost beat my brother,” Micah explained, the disgust clearly in his words.

“Well, let’s go teach a bastard some manners. Can you lay down the ground rules?”

He nodded his head as I called the pack to the challenge circle, making sure I let my sister’s and their friends know to come back and get dressed quickly.

What’s going on, Griffith?” Kaley asked me through the mind-link, clearly worried.

I’m going to teach a bastard Alpha some manners. It seems like he wants this pack.” I heard my sister’s snicker.

I subdued my power, not wanting the Alpha to know who I was to start with. I wanted to mess with him a little. Nothing more satisfying than teaching an old dog new tricks. I laughed when Micah jumped. He didn’t know I could subdue my powers and it jolted him. He smiled at me, nodding his head. He knew what I was about.

Let him through, Knight, but make sure someone stays with him.”

Okay, Alpha. But, you need to know they got through the first line of defense. I don’t like telling on another warrior, but Henry’s lazy and is probably asleep,” Knight explained to me.

Good to know. I’ll check on him later. I won’t let him know you told me of his behavior.”

I felt the Alpha drawing closer. I knew exactly where he would be coming out of the woods. I turned toward the clearing, Micah following my lead, but looking at me as if I was crazy. Evidently the Alpha didn’t want me to know where his pack was from.

“I’m here to challenge the Alpha for his pack!” The Alpha bellowed, looking at Micah.

Micah noticed him staring at him and started chuckling. “I’m not the Alpha, he is,” he voiced, pointing at me.

I could tell the Alpha was excited about fighting me. He thought he could beat me, considering he didn’t feel any power coming from me. He stared into my eyes - a clear sign of disrespect. I didn’t let it get to me. I knew he was trying to get a rise out of me - one he wouldn’t get.

“Well, pup, are you ready to fight?”

“Sure. I need some sleep before training tomorrow. Let’s get this done,” I commented as I walked into the circle and stood on my side.

I heard the Alpha tell his men to hold on to his Luna. He wanted them to kill her if he lost for some reason. He didn’t want her to replace her true mate. I was trying to stay calm, but when the wind changed direction I smelt an amazing smell. My mate was his Luna. How? Why?

She was struggling with the men, knowing he would kill her. “Calm. Don’t let on that you’re my mate. I know you don’t want to be with him. Stay calm, please,” I told her via my wolf, Blaze. She calmed down but still struggled a little to keep up appearances.

Haley, Kaley, the woman those men are holding is my mate. They are going to kill her if he loses. Please disappear and stay behind them. Take them out as soon as I tell you. Can you do this for me and my mate? I know there’s a story behind why she’s his mate.” I saw them nod their heads and disappear, making sure no one could see them.

Micah went over the rules as Joey cautioned me about the silver in the Alpha’s claws - something I already knew about. She went on to tell me how he killed her Gamma parents and made her an orphan. She had run to this pack and was made into an Omega by a depraved Alpha. I nodded shortly, letting her know I heard her.

“Fight!” Micah yelled as he ran out of the circle.

I felt a barrier go up as the girls spelled me even more. The dip-shit was watching me, waiting on me to make the first move. Too bad I don’t have long nails to check as the girls did. I bounced from foot to foot. I decided it would be a good idea to let all my power show.
