From Here to Ecstasy -
Chapter 45 - Cheesy
Recap:
“Winter, can you go to the bank and deposit this money? Put the gold bars in a locker at the bank and Willow can figure out how much they’re worth,” Griffith explained as he put the money back into the bag and handed it to her.
“No problem. Am I going to put this in my name?”
I shook my head no. “Take Micah with you. He can change into Griffith and put it in Griffith’s name.” I looked at Griffith. “Is that okay, Griffith?”
He pulled me into his lap. “An excellent idea. Can you do it, Micah?”
Micah changed into Griffth. “Yep. I think I can,” he said as we laughed.
Winter's POV
I couldn’t believe it when Willow found the safe and had the combination. I would love to have her powers, but I knew each of us something different for a reason. I loved Willow like a sister. I needed to make sure she knew how I felt about her. I could tell she felt as if she wasn’t being a helpmate to Griffith. But, she didn’t need to do anything to prove herself to Griffith or us, she just needed to be herself.
I was asked to go with Micah to the bank. It was freaky as hell to see him as Griffith. I wanted to shudder every time I looked at him. Thank the Goddess he hasn’t tried to hug or kiss me.
“I would never try to hug or kiss you as Griffith. I think it would scar you for life,” Micah remarked as he laughed.
Woah, what the hell?
“How in the hell did you know what I was thinking? I didn’t say anything out loud, Micah,” I asked as I looked at him wide-eyed.
“I guess it’s another one of my powers. I could hear you and Autumn talking through your wolves. I thought the fever messed with my mind. I guess it wasn’t the fever.” Micah almost bent down to kiss me, but I raised my hand, stopping him in his tracks.
“Don’t even try to kiss me right now, please,” I ordered, making sure he knew I wasn’t making him do anything he didn’t want to do as I used my Alpha tone. I had forgotten I could order him and I promised myself I never would.
Micah put up his hands, surrendering to my words. “No kissing, hand-holding, and not touching your body as your brother.”
I nodded and teleported us to the back of the bank, making sure we weren’t seen. I didn’t want to freak out the humans. I didn’t have a problem with humans - not at all. I thought they were interesting people, just a little messed up. But, tell me what person, whether they are human or not, in this universe who doesn’t have problems in their lives.
We stepped up to the bank and pulled the door open. I almost sneezed my head off. The odor eaters they had in the bank were strong, but adding the perfumes and aftershaves made it a concoction of nastiness. I was ready to turn around and go to another bank.
“Can I help you?” A man in a cheesy suit asked me and only me.
“No. You can help my brother. You can also keep your eyes up top. I have a husband, sir,” I sarcastically said as he ducked his head and looked away.
“Yes, ma’am. I’m sorry, but you are beautiful. I’ll respect your wishes,” the man said.
“I need to open a bank account and get a safe deposit box,” Micah told the idiot man.
I didn’t understand why men thought a woman would lay down and say fuck me if a man stares at her chest. I was ready to tear this man a new asshole. I had enough of that shit with my first fucking mate. I wasn’t going to take it from anyone else. If he had been a were’ he would have been on the floor from my punch. I didn’t want to go to a human jail. It would drive my wolf and me crazy.
I calmed myself down. I couldn’t get mad and do something I would regret later. I made sure I centered myself and took easy breaths. I could tell Micah was worried about me, but he didn’t put his hands on me. I knew his hands could calm me down, but damn that would mess me up.
“Do you need checks, a debit card?” The idiot asked. Come on, who doesn’t get checks and a debit card when they open an account?
“Yes, I need both,” Micah answered respectively.
“How would you like to make a deposit? “
I watched Micah put the bag on the idiot's desk. We had made two bags. I didn’t want anyone to know how many gold bars we had.
“Cash. I know you’re going to want to count it. My grandma gifted it to me. I have a note here somewhere,” Micah told the man as he pulled out the pockets from his pants.
“Winter, the note is in the bag. I made sure it was stuck on the bottom. It’s under Selene Wolfe,” the Moon Goddess spoke into my mind.
“The notes in the bag, Griffith. I remember your grandma sticking it at the bottom,” I told Micah, trying very hard not to laugh.
Micah laughed. “I forgot again, didn’t I?” I nodded my head at him with a mischievous smile on my face.
The idiot man turned the bag upside down and emptied the contents out as I rolled my eyes. He better have not lost any of the money. I knew I was going to be making sure all the money was in our account.
“Woah, how much is this?” He whispered.
