Frozen Fire(Mxm)[UNEDITED] -
Chapter 8
Solveig POV
I took Gunner's hands off me as I left the room. I wiped away the tears from my eyes and made my way to his chamber..
He did this to her..was all I could think right now.
As I neared his door, his guards stood in front me blocking my way.
"Move aside, or so help me god, I will end your lives. Both of you" they looked at each other before moving out of my way.
I barged inside and was greeted with the sight of him between a strange woman's legs yet again. My entire self filled with rage as I screamed.
"Get out!" She immediately got up and exited.
"You have some nerve barging in here? Who do you think you are?" He asked with absolutely no concern at all.
"You will remain silent until I am done! Throughout my life, I have tolerated you, I hated you , but I hid it. No more, it's all your fault she's gone! " I screamed at him.
"I seem to be missing something.. what are you talking about?"
"She's dead! And you couldn't even care to be there by her death bed! Instead you spent your time fucking some whore, when you could have been by your wife's side as she took her last breathe! Do you have any idea how much you hurt her? All she wanted was to live happily with the person she married!! But you took that away from her.. and you constantly broke her heart every time you paraded around with your whore concubines !! "
I could not hold my anger in anymore as I screamed at him. I saw the shock on his face as he took in what I said, but even then I didn't stop.. I wanted him to know how much of a bastard he really was!
"Even after everything you did, she never stopped telling us to love you, even when we hated you, she encouraged us to let it go!! She loved you so much. To her, your were her soulmate, and what did you do in return?? You drove your sword into her heart every time you chose your prostitutes over her. Even as she took her last breathe, she clutched on to the necklace you gave her on your wedding night!!! No matter how much you search , you will never replace a more honorable woman than our mother! And I will make sure , till the day you die.. that you pay for what you did to her!"
I walked away leaving him stunned and shocked. I meant every word I said. I would make that bastard pay for everything he did. And I would start with the one thing that meant the most to him...
His Throne
_____________
I spent the day preparing for my mother's funeral and making sure my brothers were alright.
Aside from Gunner and I, they were to young to understand what was happening around them..I watched as they ran chasing one another and played in the palace gardens.
I didn't have the heart to tell them that there mother was gone. She had been the only parent they knew, and now they were left in darkness.
I walked up to them and when they saw me they came running hugged my legs. I smiled down at them and ruffled their hair. I told everyone in the palace not to say anything to them, somehow I thought, hearing it from me would make it less hurtful for them.
"Big brother, throw me in the air!! I want to fly just like you!!" The youngest of them said. I tried my best to hold in my tears as I bent down and picked him up.
I sat with him on the ground and soon they all crowded around me waiting in anticipation, for me to speak...but looking at their innocent faces, I just felt tongue-tide.
No matter how you tell someone, that their loved one has passed on, no one can truly prepare themselves to hear that news.
When the death was unexpected.. the news would surely be a shock.. I had to choose my words carefully when telling them.
"What is the matter brother?" Theon, my fifteen year old brother asked me. He could see the tears in my eyes beginning to fall.
"It's mother she.." I couldn't bring myself to say anything further, when they all looked at me like that. I felt a hand on my shoulder and when I looked up, I saw Gunner nodding at me. Somehow.. him being here with me.. gave me some strength...
"What about mother??is she alright?" Anton, our five year old brother asked. He was also the youngest of us.
"No little brother.. she isn't.. she's gone to heaven now" Gunner said as he picked him up and sat down with him in his lap.
"She wanted you to be happy and smile just like you always did. I know it's a sad thing but she wouldn't want you to be sad. She'd want you to grow up to be strong princes and make her proud" I said as I held onto Anwyll, who was our seven year old brother.
"We didn't get to say good bye.. we didn't get to tell her we loved her" he said as he buried his face in my chest and cried. I placed my hand on the back of his tiny neck and held his head against my chest.
"She knew little brother.. she knew how much you loved her.. how much we all loved her"
"What do we do now?" Theon asked..
I looked at Gunner and back to Theon..
" We live"
_____________
Everyone mourned and cried at the loss of their queen.
I had spent the entire day crying, and even though I felt like I wanted to crawl up in a ball and cry my life away... I had to be strong for my brothers.. I had to be someone they could lean on.. I had to be their pillar of support.. just like I was for my mother.
I raised my arrow and aimed it at the boat that was now carrying my mother's corpse. I thought back the events of my childhood and every memory I had of my loving mother. I thought back to the parting advice she gave me... and with that I let go...
I watched as the boat caught fire , and one by one my brothers shot their arrows. Lastly my father shot his . We all stood and watched as the boat slowly drifted and eventually fell over the falls.
As it went over so did the hate I felt for myself. I would follow my mother's advice and live my life like she would want me to. I would wait for the love of my life, even if it meant I had to wait forever.. but most importantly....
I would let go..
