Robert's POV

One week later

"Finally," I said to myself and made my way towards the reception, to complete the formalities.

Hailey is finally being discharged and I am so happy about it. She has suffered a lot these days and I want to keep her happy. At least that's what I want now.

The papers were signed and I went back to her. She was almost fine now, she could stand, walk, anything.

But she still needs rest. And I will need to take care of that.

I went with her to the car and drove off.

During the car ride, one vehicle came very close to us and was almost hit. But god, it didn't.

It could have been a disaster if it did. I tried to talk it out, but I knew Hailey didn't want any fight, so I ignored it.

I reached the house with her and she went back to her room. I went to her room to make sure everything is alright. "Do you need food?" she asked. "I can make-"

"You aren't making any food for me or yourself. I have kept a cook. And you need to rest" I said and left the room.

But the shock on her face was evident. I need to take care of her. I know, I've been a devil. But I don't know, I did so much wrong, but still, she doesn't hate me?

I shrugged my thoughts and went downstairs.

Hailey's POV

I was taken home. Coming here after all this while has been a good thing. This is the apartment I used to live in earlier... I guess Apartment A.

Anyway, I sat down on the bed.

Robert. I don't hate you, because I want to heal you.

And I want to heal you... Because... Because I think that the reason is, without that, I would never be able to go back to my family. But no, now I think there is one more reason. I want to help you. I know you're in pain. But... I-I don't know why. I don't know why I want to help you at all. You hurt me, in every way. But still?

I don't know. But I wanna do it. Maybe because... I like you.

And I don't know why I like you. Maybe it's the way you behave when you aren't angry? Maybe because I know you are way too good behind the facade you're wearing.

I took out the phone he has given me. I played some games and time passed.

Food was served at the correct times. The cook is really good, I must say.

Robert returned to the room at night. I was awake, but I didn't move.

"You should practice your acting skills if you wanna do this," he said, sliding next to me.

I smiled. "Oh, I don't need," I said.

He smiled.

And by that, I mean, really smiled again.

"Robert," I said. He looked at me raising his eyebrows. "I want to say something"

He kept a hand below his head and turned a little towards me. "Hm?"

I took a deep breath. I can't let this opportunity go away, so I need to make sure I don't screw anything. He was looking at me, expecting an answer, but I was already voice-devoid right now. Finally, I decide to speak it. "I... I-I wanna give us a chance. Do you?"

He looked taken aback, but soon recovered. "Really?"

"Yes"

He smiled and nodded. Then he hugged me. "Are you sure?" he asked once again.

"Yes, Robert" I replied.

He got a little away and tucked a hair behind my ear.

"Do you like me?" he asked.

"Of course, or why would I say this?"

"Wow. I can't believe this"

"Then we can start our relationship tomorrow. I am a little tired today, and sleepy" I said.

He smiled at me and nodded. "Sure, Hailey. I can't believe a word you say, but still, I am looking forward to tomorrow"

I smiled and slept.

Maybe this can heal you, Robert.

The next day I woke up and he was not next to me; so, I went downstairs. Not before taking a bath and doing my daily chores. I don't wanna look like a sleeping 'devil'.

I saw him sitting in the living room. His normal business suit again on, and he was looking as serious as any other day. He looked tense at all times, and I have never seen him relaxed. "Robert," I said.

He looked at me and smiled. "Hi, Hailey," he said.

I shared a smile, and then came down. "Breakfast?" he asked.

"Nope," I said. He raised his eyebrow, asking me why, but I didn't reply.

As I sat down and used my phone, I could replace his eyes on me, almost all the time.

"Robert, stop staring" I finally said.

He chuckled and nodded. "Okay," he said, but mind you, he never stopped staring.

I had planned a good day out, and I have to make him come with me. He is so busy all day, he doesn't have time for himself. I have to first make him enjoy the world so that he can know that real happiness is not money or power. After resting enough, I thought to ask him. But he can get angry, so I have to keep it cool.

"Robert," I said. "Can we go out today?"

He thought for a second before replying. "Okay. Where?"

I was shocked for I expected him to be a little, you know, angry.

"Hm... I'll drive"

"You sure?"

"Yes"

"Okay," he said and smiling, I went to my room and changed my clothes into a better one.

He changed and we went downstairs to the car.

"Let's go," I said, sitting on the driver's seat. It feels good sitting here after all the while.

The last time I drove it, the things weren't so good, so I need to do it correctly this time. "Yeah" he replied.

This is gonna be a new start, Hailey.

Don't screw it.
