Chapter 101

Evadne’s eyes were bright as autumn waters. With a slight turn, her graceful figure seemed to pierce through Thaddeus’s heart.

Her singing was beautiful and intoxicating.

Thaddeus watched her.

One on stage, one-off, as if they had crossed endless time and space, crossed love and hate, separation, just to reunite in this life, as if they had returned to the past.

Her every frown and smile, every turn, seemed to make his lifetime become eternal in that moment.

“Is that really Ilana?!” Hamiltion excitedly gripped the armrest, “Yes. It’s Ilana! Look at that little nose and mouth. Isn’t that Ilana?!”

Thaddeus suddenly sat back in his chair. His vision blurred, and his temples suddenly ached.

“Thad? What’s wrong? You don’t look so good.” Jareth noticed his discomfort and asked urgently.

“I’m fine.” Thaddeus held his temple, his eyes seeming to sink into the abyss.

Why did the name Ilana sound familiar? Had he heard it somewhere before? And the person, Ilana, seemed familiar too.

Hamiltion was enjoying “Eternal Whispers”.

Evadne used to visit Mr. Hamiltion often, showing off her abilities by singing a bit for him to cheer him up.

She remembered the first time Mr. Hamiltion heard her singing, and tears filled his eyes as he was lost in the beautiful memories with his wife Fiona Abernathy. Tears poured out uncontrollably, crying like a child.

Fiona used to be a famous singer domestically, and Mr. Hamiltion was her die-hard fan. He loved Fiona so much that he defied his family to marry her. In the end, they finally got together and created a legendary love story.

Evadne envied the relationship between Mr. Hamiltion and Fiona, and she wanted to have that, too.

But it wasn’t until Thaddeus forced her to divorce that she realized that her love was doomed to shatter and end in tragedy the moment she fell in love with this man.

The crowd gradually immersed in the performance, even forgetting to chat, only focused on appreciating the show.

“I just heard the performer is Mr. Thaddeus’s ex-wife! She’s such a talented girl. It’s rare to see girls who love cla**ical art in today’s impetuous society!”

“Don’t keep mentioning Mr. Thaddeus, and she’s now President Ashbourne’s girlfriend!”

“Who knows if Mr. Thaddeus and her will get back together? Didn’t you see the way Mr. Thaddeus looked at her so gentle? Obviously he hasn’t let go of her!”

“How could he let go? She’s beautiful and talented, everything Mr. Thaddeus liked. Isn’t she way better than that counterfeit-loving Ms. Acacia?”

Hearing these discussions, Acacia’s eyes turned red with anger, and she abruptly left the table.

She found a secluded corner to stand in, filled with resentment, contemplating sinister plans.

Today, Elspeth was hinting at her to act against Ilana quickly, but she wasn’t foolish enough to let Elspeth use her.

Once her plan was discovered, she would be ultimately defeated!

Therefore, she needed to replace someone to share the risk with her.

No one was more suitable than Glynnis, who harbored deep resentment.

So Acacia sent Glynnis a message.

Soon, Glynnis came over, her skirt swishing angrily.

“Humph! That bit ch Ilana! I didn’t expect her to be able to sing. She stole my thunder again, da mn!”

“Glynnis, don’t be angry, what’s so great about being able to sing? Being a performer has no good end, everyone knows. Performers are lowly people. such a cheap woman, even if she climbed to a high branch, she can’t change her nature. She can only stand on stage for us aristocrats to enjoy.”

Acacia, who had been left speechless by llana’s verbal attack, was now cleverly comforting Glynnis.

“Acacia, you’re right. Let that cheap woman sing! Does she think she’s talented? She’s just embarra**ing herself!”

“Glynnis, do you want to settle the score with Ilana and vent your anger?” Acacia asked in a low voice.

“I dream of it! I really wanted to twist her head off and kick it around like a ball, and I really wanted to break her n*eck!” Glynnis gritted her teeth in hatred.

“I do have a way, but I’m afraid I can’t do it alone. We needed to work together.” Acacia grabbed Glynnis’s arm and said ominously.

“What’s the plan?”

Acacia looked around to make sure no one was there and there were no cameras, and then she pulled out two clear vials that Elspeth had prepared for her.

“What’s this?” Glynnis looked puzzled.

“This drug made men unable to control their lower bodies and women unable to resist lust after drinking it. It’s perfect for a cheap woman like Ilana who liked to seduce men.”

Acacia’s eyes were gleaming, unable to conceal her malicious excitement.

“What?!” Glynnis exclaimed in shock, but Acacia quickly covered her mouth, “Shh! You have to be quiet!”

“You want to drug Ilana? At Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday party?”

Acacia leaned into her ear and chuckled, “Imagine if, tonight at Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday party, Mr. Cas sius and Ilana have an illicit affair. What a scandal that would be if it got out! Then Ilana’s carefully maintained image will completely collapse, Mr. Hamiltion will definitely despise her, and the Ashbourne group will abandon her.”

“Don’t you hate her for having a good relationship with Mr. Jareth? If Mr. Jareth seen Ilana and Cas sius’s illicit affair, do you think he’ll still care for such a tra mp?”

Glynnis was left open-mouthed and speechless.

She despised Ilana, but her revenge had always been open. She’s never done something so vicious behind the scenes!

“We’re toast if we get caught!”

“The birthday party was full of people. Who’s going to notice? Even if they suspect something, they’ve got no proof it’s us. If you’re scared, spi ke Cas sius’s drink, I’ll take care of Ilana. If we each do our part, we can pull this off!” Acacia said coldly. “You saw what happened today. Mr. Jareth only has eyes for Ilana. He’s blind to you.” Glynnis felt a pang in her heart, engulfed by tremendous shame.

“If you don’t get Ilana out of the way, your relationship with Mr. Jareth will never change. Doing nothing will only make you a laughing stock. Think about it!” Acacia sure knew how to apply what she’s learned.

She parroted Elspeth’s words into Glynnis’s ear like a brainwash.

Glynnis nodded in pain.

The guests were still entranced by the dreamlike “Eternal Whispers”.

Jareth was gazing at the beauty on the stage, his eyes filled with pa**ion and bewilderment.

Thaddeus stared at Ilana’s familiar yet unfamiliar face. A burning sensation gripped his throat.

“So in love, it hurts,” Cas sius sighed, looking at the stunning Evadne on stage.

His sigh was like a pebble thrown into Thaddeus’s heart, causing ripples.

Suddenly, there was a stir and gasps from the audience.

Evadne felt puzzled and lifted her eyes.

Suddenly, she felt as if a bullet had shot through her chest, and her b*dy shook violently.

Under the public gazed, Emeric, handsome and distinguished, walked from the back to the front with b*dyguards and secretaries.

“Is that Chairman Emeric of the K Group?! Emeric?!”

“Chairman Emeric is attending Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday party?! Holy cow! This is really something!”

“Does this mean the feud between the Ashbourne and Abernathy groups is resolved? This is going to be front-page news!”

People were shocked, and whispers spread.

Evadne’s voice trembled uncontrollably, and her heart pounded against her chest!

Why was Emeric here?

How could Emeric possibly come to celebrate Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday?!

Who invited such a big shot?!
